A suspected top leader in one of Bryan's biggest gangs is in jail after Federal Agents arrested him for illegally coming back to this country from Mexico.

News 3 looked into how law enforcement is going after local gangs, including the Latin Kings.

28-year-old Aldo Guadalupe Hernandez Ramirez is just the latest Latin Kings Gang member to find himself in trouble with the law.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested him September 13th at his house in Bryan for illegally coming back to the country twice.

"He is considered to be a Latin King and is second in command according to our data," said Nina Pruneda a Spokesperson for The Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Pruneda says he ignored a judge's immigration order.

He has convictions for carrying an unlicensed concealed weapon and assault causing bodily injury.

In Brazos County the "Boss" as he's called was arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity, possession of marijuana and even hindering the apprehension of a known sex offender.

More on the Latin Kings is coming to light in a Brazos County Courtroom this week.

22-year-old Jose Castillo faces prison time if convicted of engaging in organized criminal activity.

Investigators say he and four other men within the Latin Kings were responsible for the murder of 17-year-old Christopher Hutchson near Downtown Bryan on Mother's Day 2010.

Mike Kneese with the Bryan Police Intelligence Unit testified about gang clothes Castillo was wearing.

"There's a gold five point crown on the shoes... The crown represents for the Latin Kings are love, honor, obedience, sacrifice, and righteousness," said Mike Kneese.

"The Latin Kings are a criminal street gang?," asked Brazos County District Attorney Jarvis Parsons.

"Yes," was Kneese's reply.

ICE's Fugitive Operation Team works daily to reduce fugitive aliens.

"We were happy that it was a success to get him off the street," said Nina Pruneda.

Aldo Guadalupe Hernandez-Ramirez is now in the custody of U.S. Marshals while gang enforcement continues to get other gang members off our streets.

Hernandez-Ramirez faces up to 20 years in prison if he's convicted of illegally re-entering the country, and also faces deportation once again.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement Press Release

ICE arrests local leader of Latin Kings gang:

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The second-in-command of the Latin Kings gang in Bryan, Texas, was arrested by fugitive operations officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Thursday.

Aldo Guadalupe Hernandez-Ramirez, 28, aka "Boss," was arrested Sept. 13 at his residence without incident. He was previously removed from the U.S. on two occasions by ERO officers in August 2007 and August 2011. He remains in ERO custody while the U.S. government seeks criminal prosecution for illegal re-entry into the United States after deportation, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Hernandez-Ramirez has convictions for carrying an unlicensed concealed weapon and assault causing bodily injury.

"ERO is committed to making our communities safe. A priority for ERO is the arrest and removal of convicted criminal aliens who ignore their deportation orders or disregard our nation's laws," said David W. Jennings, field officer director for ERO Houston. "This arrest is yet another example of ERO's commitment to keeping at-large criminal aliens out of our communities."

ERO is focused on smart, effective immigration enforcement that targets serious criminal aliens who present the greatest risk to the security of our communities, such as those charged with or convicted of homicide, rape, robbery, kidnapping, major drug offenses and threats to national security. ERO also prioritizes the arrest and removal of those who game the immigration system including immigration fugitives or those criminal aliens who have been previously deported and illegally re-entered the country.

The removal of criminal aliens from the United States is a national priority. To address this priority, ICE designed the National Fugitive Operations Program (NFOP) within the ERO directorate. The primary mission of NFOP is to reduce the fugitive alien population in the United States. NFOP identifies, locates and arrests fugitive aliens, aliens that have been previously removed from the United States, removable aliens who have been convicted of crimes, as well as aliens who enter the United States illegally or otherwise defy the integrity of our immigration laws and border control efforts.
