REAGAN COUNTY - An illegal immigrant remains in jail after Reagan County sheriff's deputies say he had a sexual relationship with a teen.

20-year-old Caesar Villegas-Meza is facing charges of sexual assault of a child.

His arrest came after a six week investigation.

Deputies tell NewsWest 9, Villegas-Meza was involved with a 16-year-old girl.

Villegas-Meza is an illegal immigrant and was in Big Lake on a visitation visa.

Villegas-Meza faces up to 20 years in prison for the felony charge.

I gotta agree. This really doesn't say enough. While I despise illegals with a passion I've always been a supporter of age of consent at 16/17/18ish WITH a 4 year law. They are 4 years apart in age and we really don't know if her birthday is next week and he just barely turned 20 yesterday.

We can't really compromise our principles on another issue just because he's an illegal. Deport him of course but would be interested in further facts on this case.
