An Edinburg man is taking a stand against human smugglers by destroying a camp that was being used by illegal immigrants on his land.

U.S. Border Patrol agents raided the campsite last month.

Border Patrol agents were on hand when bulldozers demolished the campsite on Tuesday morning.

Similar campsites have popped throughout northern Hidalgo County.

Human smugglers use the camps as staging areas to guide illegal immigrants through the South Texas brush and around Border Patrol's Falfurrias checkpoint.

Yep, but unfortunately the illegal alien smugglers will just move their base camp somewhere else. It's sort of like businesses that hire illegals and get found out ......... the illegals just move on down the road to the next job with no accountability.

Universal E-Verify will accomplish more to stem the flow of illegals than will anything else. A five year phase-in was part of the Senate's immigration bill, but I haven't heard anything about Universal E-Verify lately.
