TX - Man arrested for assault with pellet gun

A 22-year-old man is being held in the McLennan County Jail in connection with the pellet gun shooting of another man in McGregor over the weekend.

Adalberto Aguiree has been charged of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but also has an immigration hold. Due to the hold, he cannot be released to anyone but immigration authorities.

Officers were called to a location on the south side of McGregor Saturday afternoon where a group of men had gathered. Authorities then learned that Aguiree and the victim had been arguing before he shot the victim with a pellet gun. The pellet penetrated to the victim's hip bone.

Aguiree is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond
