    TX Minutemen

    Local NewsMinutemen Patrols Begin
Saturday is the official start date of the Minutemen patrols in the El Paso area. The Minutemen are also speaking out on the immigration marches taking place here and across the country.
More than 200 minutemen volunteers plan to be in the El Paso area for the entire month of April. The president of the Texas Minutemen, Shannon McGauley says the focus of the patrols will be to observe and report any activity they see along the border.
They'll be patrolling an area from Socorro to just below Fort Hancock. They say they will avoid any kind of confrontation and let authorities handle any situation.
McGauley says they've been received well by people in the El Paso area. He says farmers who have to clean up their fields after immigrants walk through them, are especially happy to see them back.
KDBC also asked the president of the Texas Minutemen about the protests taking place here and across the country. He says many protesters don't know immigration issues being debated and don't know why they're protesting

This is probably the worst of our news stations. They live in their own little world where nothing happens, I guess.
