    This money

This money does NOT come without strings attached...Now it is time to investigate just what those strings are.

Its so obvious. The pro-amnesty forces want to infiltrate the Tea Party because they know that it is persuading Republicans to vote more conservative.

The Amnesty forces are also trying to hijack the conservative movement, even by forming a new group called Conservatives for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

    Quick Clarification

Quick clarification: The FEC stuff was posted by a commenter on the report. I am still looking how to find stuff on the FEC site. this was a third party investigation, not mine. The comment was made on this page: http://politics.newsvine.com/_news/2010 ... #c17756163 the comment was #91.

Even if Perenchio was not the donor it does show that we have no clue who fronted the money and who's pocket TPP is now in along with all the email list.

What if the anon donor was a democrat? this article says that they will take Obamas offer on working with Tea Parties....now just before election Obama has direct connection with the largest email/Tea Party network across the nation. we are now set to automatically jump and do the calls whenever the ACTION ALERTS get sent to our inbox.

We need to get the message out that people need to focus back on their local Tea Party Groups and stop blindly trusting (like we did with the Republican Party that is now full of RINO's.) Once again the "national" organization has become corrupt. We have no idea who's pocket National TPP is in. Names are flying around like crazy on who this donor is and none of them sound good.

I would be suspect of the National "alert" Emails also. People are now set on auto pilot to jump to the email or phone their elected leaders because the national emails say to do so. This gets distributed nationwide. Can we trust that this money is not some sort of buy-off? This is the exact reason why we keep saying, "FOCUS LOCAL" and stay there, we have to rebuild this government from the ground up.

If this donor really wanted to remain anonymous he or she could have had a staffer send a $357 to all 2800 Tea Parties Listed on the national site, instead they negotiated with the National TPP to bring the focus back to a national level. there is something not right here.

Tea Party group gets $1 million anonymous donation
    12:07 PM

Tea Party Patriots coordinators Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin announce an anonymous $1 million grant for their 2,800 local chapters at the National Press Club in Washington.
    CAPTION
    By Carolyn Kaster, AP
A donor who does not want to be named has written a $1 million check to Tea Party Patriots, and the organization's national coordinators intend to push the funds out into the field by the beginning of next month -- in time to help with get-out-the-vote efforts for the Nov. 2 election.

In a Q&A with reporters at the National Press Club, Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots dropped a few hints about their benefactor: "He" is a businessman and entrepreneur, they said. Asked if he had given to other political causes, Meckler said he didn't know.

The anonymous nature of the donation was Topic A at the press conference where Meckler and Martin announced the grant. Organized as a "social welfare" group under section 501(c)4 of the tax code, the Tea Party Patriots is not regulated by federal campaign finance laws and is not required to make its funding sources public.

Meckler said the grant will be distributed among the Tea Party Patriots' 2,800 local affiliates to help further voter education and turnout efforts. "None of this money is to be used for direct election activities," he said.

Translation: As long as the Tea Party Patriots do not mention candidates' names in their material or explicitly advocate for or against a specific candidates' election, they don't have to meet federal requirements to disclose their donors. This according to Paul Ryan, one of the experts at the Campaign Legal Center, a non-partisan watchdog group that monitors election law.

"There certainly seems to be an increase" in the use of 501(c)4s to "launder" political donations, Ryan said. He said big donors find them "attractive" because they can give money without getting their names in public.

Some business donors would prefer to keep their political preferences private to avoid alienating customers, Ryan noted.

"The Target corporation is Exhibit A," he said. The reference is to the furor set off when news surfaced this year of the mega-retailer's financial support for a Minnesota gubernatorial candidate who opposed gay marriage. Gay rights advocates boycotted the company, and Target apologized to employees.

At the news conference today, Meckler took a not-so-indirect swipe at a rival Tea Party organization, the Tea Party Express, which operates a full-fledged political action committee that has reported more than $5 million in donations to the Federal Election Commission.

In a reference to the consulting firm of veteran political consultant Sal Russo, Meckler said the Tea Party Express answers to the "small, elite leadership team," that helped found the organization. "We're here to support the real grass-roots activists," Meckler said.

Tea Party Patriots Receives $1,000,000 Donation to Grow and Strengthen the Tea Party Movement

Donation to provide grants for development of organization's grassroots resources

Washington - Tea Party Patriots (TPP), the nation's largest Tea Party organization with more than 2,800 affiliated organizations, today announced that it has received a $1,000,000 commitment to fund a grant program for the purpose of growing and strengthening regional and local Tea Party Patriots affiliates across the country. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, is committed to building a stronger tea party movement.

TPP made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington. D.C.

"The Tea Party movement is here to stay," said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. "This fund will be distributed over the next several weeks, to help ensure that the principles and values of the Tea Party Patriots will inform the citizens of the nation as we head into election season."

The funds will be distributed in grant form based on applications made by TPP affiliates across the country. Recipients of the grants will come from among thousands of TPP affiliate organizations.

"In keeping with the spirit and philosophy of Tea Party Patriots, this fund will be immediately and broadly distributed to tea party organizations on the ground, in order to allow them to leverage their current efforts" said Mark Meckler, Co-Founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. "We will continue to focus on the tea party activists in the field. They are responsible for the success of the tea party movement. The core values of the Tea Party Patriots are resonating with tea party activists and with voters across America, and we expect this organization to continue its dramatic growth."
