Immigration concerns are coming to the forefront in James City County.

With resources tight, the county wants to take a look at how much it’s paying to provide services to people who are here illegally.

The county attorney says one of the first steps will be to make sure immigrants with driver’s licenses and other forms of identification are legit.

The county will also be reviewing the mandatory and optional services being provided to residents.

In the meantime, organizers of a grassroots group say even undocumented immigrants have rights.
