And look at his wrist....it looks too small. Something isn't right about this shot, but I can't figure it out. His arm looks too long. It's not in proportion. Oh well....darn it, I thought we had him on a BIG ONE!!

The White House just called (seriously)
by John in DC - 7/28/2005 05:05:00 PM
David Almacy just called me from the White House communications office to clarify the reports that Bush flipped off reporters yesterday while visiting the Hill. David says that Bush was definitely giving the thumbs up sign with regards to the upcoming CAFTA vote (Central American Free Trade Agreement). I asked David if I could write about our conversation, and he said please do.
I have to say, I'm not real convinced by the thumbs up excuse. It's possible, of course, but the video doesn't look like his thumb, and Bush has a history of flipping off reporters (there's a video we posted last fall of him flipping off a reporter in Texas while governor). This is a still shot of that video from when Bush was governor.
There are also unconfirmed reports of Bush flipping off protesters last year. Bush called a NYT reporter a "major league asshole," and let's not even talk about VP Cheney's mouth.
And while, yes, it would be really stupid of him to flip off reporters while on the Hill, well, it would be pretty stupid to lie to the nation about going to war, and to keep Karl Rove and Scooter Libby on staff after it's already been proven that they outed a CIA agent. I'm not going to put it past Bush to do something really stupid.
Having said that, the White House gets two points for reaching out to bloggers, especially bloggers on the other side of the aisle. That's the job of a smart public relations person, to reach out even when you don't agree, so they get points for that. Now how about reaching out on the issues, then we'll start really talking.
You can check out our earlier report on last night's episode and decide for yourselves.

Trying to Put a Finger on a Presidential Gesture
By Peter Baker
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, July 29, 2005; Page A06
Did President Bush show what he really thinks of the media with a flip of his middle finger? Jay Leno thinks so.
On "The Tonight Show" Wednesday, the late-night comic showed videotape of the president leaving a meeting with congressional Republicans on Capitol Hill earlier in the day and passing by a clutch of reporters shouting questions on the fate of the Central American trade pact. On the video, Bush striding away from the camera suddenly thrusts his right hand into the air and extends a finger -- precisely which one was unclear. White House officials yesterday said it was his thumb.
But there were other interpretations. "I think President Bush is getting a little fed up with the press," Leno said, and he then showed the video to much laughter from the studio audience, which seemed to see it the same way. "What was that all about, huh?" Leno asked. "You see? That's the great thing about the second term: Who cares?"
Certainly Bush does not always have charitable thoughts about journalists, and the video clip quickly made its way onto various Web sites. It was played around Washington yesterday as the curious tried to discern for themselves which presidential digit was raised. The speculation recalled last year's still-unresolved controversy over a hump that seemed to be under Bush's suit coat at one of the campaign debates.
"I was there with him, and I'm just not going to -- I'm not going to dignify that with a response," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said when asked about the finger at his daily briefing, where many days, no doubt, he harbors his own desires to finger his feelings about reporters. "I mean, I haven't seen the video that you're talking about, but I know the way the president acts. And if someone is misportraying it, that's unfortunate."
Unfortunate, but it would not be the first time someone from the administration offered raw commentary on Capitol Hill. When Vice President Cheney ran into one of his leading Democratic critics, Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (Vt.), on the Senate floor one day last year, words were exchanged and the normally mild-mannered veep snapped, "[Expletive] yourself."
Still, none of the journalists on the scene Wednesday reported seeing Bush make a rude gesture. Ken Herman, the Cox News Service correspondent representing other print reporters at the time, did not mention it in his pool report and said by telephone yesterday that he did not see the moment in question. "I think the video is inconclusive but leaning toward thumb," he said after examining the footage. "It's just hard to imagine."

Could this reflect how he truly feels towards the American Public? Is this what a CHRISTIAN would do?

Well....that confirms it for me. I saw another clip of it on CNN "on the story" yesterday....and it sure looked like the "bird" to me and that was the position of CNN.
That's now NBC and CNN and Jay Leno wouldn't make a joke of it if he wasn't sure of what he saw.
George Bush is a HICK.
And a Mean Hick to Boot.
This is the "leader of the free world"?
Yeah....right.
