At least 41 children have been slaughtered in a well-planned terrorist attack in Homs, Syria, according to the AFP.
The gruesome attack carried out by a double bombing in the Akrameh province also claimed the lives of 4 adult civilians and 3 security forces, along with the children:
“At least 41 schoolchildren were killed in the double bombing at the Akrameh al-Makhzumi school in Homs city today. Several children are still missing, and the toll may rise further still,” said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.
At least 74 others were wounded.

Both bombs were detonated by one individual.
“He planted a bomb at one location at the school, and then blew himself up at another spot nearby,” Abdel Rahman told AFP of the attacker.
Horrific pictures and video of the attack have been posted online. The amateur footage shows a wounded child being carried off, and body parts and blood strewn amidst the rubble.

The young victims were between 6 and 9-years-old, Homs governor Talal al-Barazi confirmed.
“Homs is a city that is under the complete control of the regime who won the battle there months ago and yet you still find that the pro-regime communities are vulnerable to spectacular terrorist attacks,” IT worker Aboud Dandachi told the Middle East Eye.
For the regime, control of Homs is a matter of life and death,” Dandachi added. “It is the gateway to cities across the country, Syria’s jugular vein. The regime would sacrifice huge chunks of Syria so long as it controls Homs. That is where the revolution should have succeeded.”
No terrorist organization has yet stepped forward to claim responsibility for the devastation.
