Members of a community activist group entered courthouses in Dallas and across Texas today, attempting to stop foreclosed homes from being sold and call attention to struggling homeowners.

Other protests were scheduled today in Houston, El Paso and the Rio Grande valley by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

ACORN is trying to give its members more time to negotiate lower mortgage payments, while pushing for legislation that gives homeowners a chance to save their homes.

ACORN: Give strapped owners more time to save homes
By PURVA PATEL Copyright 2009 HOUSTON CHRONICLE
    May 5, 2009, 2:48PM

A housing advocacy group protested during the monthly foreclosure auction in downtown Houston Tuesday, hoping to stop the sale of foreclosed homes and call attention to the plight of strapped homeowners.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now held other protests in Dallas, El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley.

ACORN didn’t stop the sale of any homes, but raised their voices loud enough to make it difficult to hear constables auctioning the properties at the Harris Country Family Law Center.

Among the protesters were Patricia and Tomas Vela, who were able to stave off foreclosure earlier this week by talking to their lender about a loan modification.

The Vela’s had fallen behind on their mortgage payments when he got laid off from his job as a mechanic for HISD and construction work he did on the side slowed. He eventually found work again, hoping it help him make his $900 monthly mortgage payment on his East End home.

The banks have to recoup the money somehow. I don't want to help the struggeling homeowners as many bought houses they knew they couldn't afford. Affirmative action, no matter how it is used, is detrimental to the US and the people that are using the afirmative action laws. I hate that this government passes hate crime laws and discrimination laws that are the very reason discrimination continues. I hate that they think they can legislate feelings and actions. We need common sense back in this government.

So this is what America needed all of the illegal immigration for? To build homes for an insane market that was built upon a fake (actually a manipulated economy) economy? Now we will be gifted a larger government with all of the answers provided by an all-knowing Wonder Boy.

Just wish I could stay drunk. Perhaps vodka would be appropriate.

While listening to C-Span the other day, a CFR member was discussing how the U.S. could handle and help to defeat Iran with their plans for nuclear technologies. The CFR member pointed out the fact that there was indeed many factions, groups, and ethnicities inside of Iran and that dissention introduced to some against others could help upset the apple cart. Divide and conquere.

What is good for the goose, is good for the gander?

Are you a goose or a gander, because being an American is not in vougue. Perhaps more importantly, how many people know if they are a goose or a gander? A democrat or a communist? A Republican or a Facist? Grabbing a label is easy, living is the tough part.

Those who used to identify theirselves as Democrats are starting to step up to the plate. They are coming out of the closet and declaring themselves socialists and some being totally honest and declaring themselves as communists. The new trend, perhaps a new vogue,......honesty amongst pigs. Trouble is that more education will be needed to bring more out of the closet. What is a communist? What is a fascist? If your party espouses communistic values, why do you hide in the closet? Come out and declare to the world your true colors! How many are confused and know not, that indeed they are ga....err,... communist?

The pigs have taken control of the farm house, when will the animals in the barn yard realize that their mountain oysters are about to be raosted? Commies eat their own. Cheers to the honest commies!
