A Ruby Ridge-style standoff is brewing in Nevada, where dozens of armed federal agents are closing in on cattle rancher Cliven Bundy over claims that Bundy has allowed his cowsto graze illegally on government land, endangering a protected species of tortoise.

Vowing to take a stand for, “your liberty and freedom,” Bundy says he is prepared to be killed as authorities surround a 600,000 acre section of public land as a result of Bundy violating a 1993 Bureau of Land Management ruling which changed grazing rights in order to protect the endangered desert tortoise.

“With all these rangers and all this force that is out here, they are only after one man right now. They are after Cliven Bundy. Whether they want to incarcerate me or whether they want to shoot me in the back, they are after me. But that is not all that is at stake here. Your liberty and freedom is at stake,” Bundy said.

Bundy’s refusal to recognize federal authority over the land under dispute and his failure to pay tens of thousands of dollars in grazing fees stems from his assertion that his family’s history trumps bureaucracy.

“My forefathers have been up and down the Virgin Valley ever since 1877. All these rights I claim have been created through pre-emptive rights and beneficial use of the forage and water. I have been here longer. My rights are before the BLM even existed,” Bundy said.

Accusing feds of seizing Nevada’s sovereignty, Bundy says he has fought the battle legally, through the media, and is now gearing up to fight it physically.

“Armed agents are forming a a military-like staging area to prevent anyone from approaching the area,” writes Mike Paczesny.

Bundy asserts that his case is emblematic of how America has been transformed into a “police state,” labeling the government’s actions “pathetic”.

Hundreds of federal officials, aided by helicopters, low flying aircraft and hired cowboys, began rounding up Bundy’s cattle on Saturday as Bundy accused them of “trespassing,” adding that the impact will only serve to raise beef prices for residents of Las Vegas 80 miles away.

Feds postponed a similar raid in 2012 over fears the action would spur violence. Bundy has drawn a lot of support from the local community and protesters are heading to the area to demand authorities back off.

Officials have created a taped off “First Amendment Area” where demonstrators can voice their concerns. A sign placed inside the area reads “Welcome to Amerika – Wake Up” alongside a hammer and sickle logo.

“The rights were created for us,” Bundy told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “I have the right to use the forage. I have water rights. I have access rights. I have range improvement rights, and I claim all the other rights that the citizens of Nevada have, whether it’s to camp, to fish or to go off road.”

Addressing the justification of seizing the cattle to protect a species of tortoise, Bundy stated, “I’ll never get it. If it weren’t for our cattle, there’d be more brush fires out here. The tortoises eat the cow manure, too. It’s filled with protein.

”The standoff has echoes of the 1992 Ruby Ridge incident, during which Randy Weaver, accused of selling an ATF agent two illegal sawed-off shotguns, became embroiled in a tragic confrontation with the the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and the FBI, resulting in the death of Weaver’s son Sammy, his wife Vicki, and Deputy U.S. Marshal William Francis Degan.

The story also brings back memories of New Hampshire couple Ed and Elaine Brown, who were involved in a nine month standoff with armed law enforcement and feds as a result of their refusal to pay income tax. The Browns were later convicted of “plotting to kill federal agents” because of their refusal to surrender and were both given de facto life sentences.

In a series of YouTube videos, Cliven Bundy and his wife outline the background behind their decision to take a stand against the feds, arguing that their fight is a constitutionally-driven line in the sand to push back against the usurpation of big government.

Armed Fed Agents and Snipers? The Decades-Long Battle Between the Gov’t and a Nevada Rancher That Has Finally Reached Its Breaking Point

Armed federal agents deployed last week to northeast Clark County, Nev., for what can only be described as a major escalation in a decades-long standoff between a local cattle rancher and the U.S. government.

Cliven Bundy, the last remaining rancher in the southern Nevada county, stands in defiance of a 2013 court order demanding that he remove his cattle from public land managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management.

The 67-year-old veteran rancher, who has compared the situation to similar confrontations with government officials inRuby Ridge and Waco, Texas, told TheBlaze that his family has used land in the 600,000-acre Gold Butte area since the late 1800s.

“I have raised cattle on that land, which is public land for the people of Clark County, all my life. Why I raise cattle there and why I can raise cattle there is because I have preemptive rights,” he said, explaining that among them is the right to forage.

“Who is the trespasser here? Who is the trespasser on this land? Is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Or is it Cliven Bundy who is trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Who’s the trespasser?”

Claiming that all other options have been exhausted, the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. National Park Service responded to Bundy’s inflexibility on the issue by calling on federal agents and contract cowboys to restrict access to the public land and to confiscate Bundy’s “trespass cattle.”

“Cattle have been in trespass on public lands in southern Nevada for more than two decades. This is unfair to the thousands of other ranchers who graze livestock in compliance with federal laws and regulations throughout the West,” the Bureau of Land Management stated on its website about the case.

“The Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service have made repeated attempts to resolve this matter administratively and judicially. An impoundment of cattle illegally grazing on public lands is now being conducted as a last resort,” it added.

Federal employees and contractors have so far impounded approximately 234 of Bundy’s estimated 900 “trespass cattle.”

The restrictions on the land are expected to stay in place until May 12. Earlier news reports stated that federal officials were considering auctioning the cattle to buyers in nearby counties in Utah. However, a Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman told TheBlaze Monday that the agency has no plans to ship impounded cattle for auction “in the near future.”

The government’s move to assert itself in the Gold Butte area shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering the fact that it’s a move years in the making. In fact, the tense relationship between Bundy and federal government dates back to well before the 2013 court order.

The fight began when Bundy stopped paying the Bureau of Land Management’s grazing fees in 1993, arguing in court filings that he had no obligation to pay the agency because his Mormon ancestors had worked the land decades before the agency was formed.

Bundy claims he owes roughly $300,000 in back fees, but the federal government says it’s more than that.

“It’s a freedom issue. It’s not about cows. It’s a state rights issue.”

“That number, the $300,00, that was a number estimated through Sept. 11, 2011,” Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Kirsten Cannon said in a phone call with reporters Monday. “Since then, the estimated amount owed by him – so including the $300,000 – totals $1.1 million.”

In addition, the cost of removing the rancher’s cattle from the public land will cost taxpayers roughly $3 million, according to initial estimates.

The land was finally declared off-limits for cattle in 1998 and became a designated habitat for the federally protected desert tortoise. That same year, a judge ordered Bundy to remove his cattle. He refused to comply.

All throughout his decades-long struggle with the federal government, the veteran rancher has maintained that Washington has no right to order him from the land.

The Bureau of Land Management has “overstepped its boundaries by not letting me access my rights, not recognizing state’s sovereignty, and having over 200 armed officers watching our every move and stealing our cattle,” Bundy said.

The rancher’s wife, Carol, said there now appear to be snipers stationed around the family’s 150-acre ranch.

Asked about the Bundys’ sniper claim, Cannon would neither confirm nor deny the allegation.

“There are law enforcement and other personnel in place as needed to ensure that the BLM and National Park Services employees and contractors are able to conduct the operation safely,” Cannon said. “Specific operations information regarding this impoundment will not be released.”

But the presence of what appear to be heavily armed agents isn’t the only thing that has the Bundys on edge: Their son, Dave, was arrested and allegedly roughed up Sunday for filming federal agents while outside an area designated for First Amendment activity on the restricted property. He was held overnight.

The 37-year-old Bundy was arrested “following failure to comply with multiple requests by BLM law enforcement to leave the temporary closure area on public lands,” Cannon said. She declined to comment on the claim that he was brutally treated.

Dave Bundy was released from custody Monday and cited for refusing to disperse and resisting issuance of a citation or arrest, she added. Cannon could not explain why Dave was held overnight.

The rancher said that he hopes Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie intervenes soon and ends the face-off once and for all.

“The federal government has no authority here,” Bundy said. “The sheriff has the authority. All he has to say is, ‘no’ and that’ll get the federal government out of here. I think he has that much power.”

It seems unlikely at this point, however, that the sheriff will intervene, as he has opted to let federal agents handle the situation. The sheriff has in the past advised Bundy on seeking legal counsel while the sheriff has extended federal deadlines.

The sheriff’s office referred media inquiries to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which confirmed to TheBlaze Monday that federal officials are handling the Bundy operation.

“That incident is being handled by another agency,” a Las Vegas police spokeswoman said. “It’s something we’re referring people to the BLM.”

Asked about Bundy’s claim that the sheriff’s office has ignored him, the spokeswoman added: “There’s nothing further that’s coming from this department about that incident, this operation. We’re just referring everything over to BLM. It’s not our operation. There’s no statement that has been issued about it.”

But with or without the sheriff, Bundy remains defiant.

I really hope that we can learn and defend our liberties here and keep on fighting until the end,” he said. “I don’t when the end is going to be, but I believe that America is the greatest land in the world and it needs to be protected.”

“Our rights and liberties need to be protected and we’re going to stand for that,” he added.

They got snipers around the ranch.

BLM to kill hundreds of desert tortoises as its conservation center runs out of money

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management announced it will kill hundreds of threatened desert tortoises it's been caring for at a Nevada conservation facility. The slaughter is being blamed on a lack of funds by the agency.

Real estate developers in southern Nevada who wanted to disrupt the habitat of threatened desert tortoises to build their little enclaves of air conditioning and irrigation in the arid suburbs of Las Vegas have been able to do so -- for a fee. And while at the height of the real estate boom those fees went a long way toward providing refuge for displaced tortoises, the real estate bust has seen the program implode.

Federal funds are running out at the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center and officials plan to close the site and euthanize hundreds of the tortoises they’ve been caring for since the animals were added to the endangered species list in 1990.

“It’s the lesser of two evils, but it’s still evil,” said U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service desert tortoise recovery coordinator Roy Averill-Murray during a visit to the soon-to-be-shuttered reserve at the southern edge of the Las Vegas Valley last week.

It is beyond lamentable that Clark County has a sheriff who will not keep his oath of office. To allowa Clark County citizen’s rights to be destroyed and his family’s livelihood and their “pursuit of happiness”trampled upon by those in power, and to sit back and watch or even worse, support such abuse, is precisely the opposite of what a true sheriff would do. To pretend to the public that we will protect your property and businesses from street gangs and criminals, but the thugs of Washington can steal and destroy all they want to, makes very little sense! Does that make the citizens of Las Vegas feel safer?

I pray for the day when local public “servants” will put liberty and American ideals first and not allow the dictates and policies of DC bureaucracies to supersede the Constitution!

You hear very little about this on the local stations it usually a very quick mention and they make it sound as though the Rancher is wrong .. Sheriff Gillespie is also retiring very soon. Our Governor Sandoval accused the Bureau of Land Management of violating Nevadan's Constitutional rights of protest..They are rounding up this mans cattle for grazing on the BLM land he said the BLM is creating an "atmosphere of intimidation.".. The Review Journal has a good size article on it this morning... I also have felt for a long time that Sheriff Gillespie does not follow "the Oath of Office" he vowed to take....

Gov. Brian Sandoval on Tuesday accused the Bureau of Land Management of violating Nevadans’ constitutional rights to protest a BLM roundup of cattle on federal land and slammed the agency for creating an “atmosphere of intimidation.”

Gov. Brian Sandoval on Tuesday accused the Bureau of Land Management of violating Nevadans’ constitutional rights to protest a BLM roundup of cattle on federal land and slammed the agency for creating an “atmosphere of intimidation.”
Sandoval called on the BLM to dismantle a so-called “First Amendment Area” the agency designated to allow demonstrators to protest the gathering of rancher Cliven Bundy’s 500 head of cattle. The federal government is rounding up the cattle around Bunkerville because Bundy has refused for 20 years to pay grazing fees.
“Due to the roundup by the BLM, my office has received numerous complaints of BLM conduct, road closures and other disturbances,” Sandoval said in a statement. “I have recently met with state legislators, county officials and concerned citizens to listen to their concerns.”
“I have expressed those concerns directly to the BLM,” he added. “Most disturbing to me is the BLM’s establishment of a ‘First Amendment Area’ that tramples upon Nevadans’ fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution.”
A former federal judge, Sandoval said he told the agency “that such conduct is offensive to me and countless others and that the ‘First Amendment Area’ should be dismantled immediately.”
“No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans,” the Republican governor said. “The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”
The BLM didn’t immediately respond to Sandoval’s criticisms. Agency spokeswoman Kirsten Cannon said the BLM and the National Park Service would address his statement during a planned Wednesday conference call with media.
But Park Service spokeswoman Christie Vanover said Tuesday the First Amendment zones were created to promote free speech and not be a burden.
“While anybody can express their free speech anytime on open public lands in accordance with the codes and ordinances that exist, there are temporary closures of some of the public lands related to this impound operation and those are in place for public safety,” she said.
On Sunday, Bundy’s son, Dave, was arrested during the roundup on public land 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. The 37-year-old said heavily armed federal agents roughed him up and arrested him for exercising his constitutional rights on a state highway in northeast Clark County. He was released on Monday.
“They got on their loudspeaker and said that everyone needed to leave,” Dave Bundy said Monday, explaining he was taking photos and protesting peacefully at the time. “I stood there and continued to express my First Amendment right to protest, and they approached me and said that if I didn’t leave, they’d arrest me.”
Bundy was cited on misdemeanor charges of “refusing to disperse” and resisting arrest, according to the Nevada U.S. attorney’s office. The BLM’s Cannon said Bundy was taken into custody to “protect public safety and maintain the peace.”
“The Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service support the public’s right to express opinions peacefully and lawfully. However, if an individual threatens, intimidates or assaults another individual or impedes the impoundment, they may be arrested in accordance with local, state or Federal laws,” Cannon said in a statement Monday.
On Tuesday, the BLM and Park Service said 277 cows have been corralled since Saturday from a 1,200-square-mile area closed to the public for the operation. The roundup could cost the federal government at least $1 million, according to government contracting records reviewed by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The BLM said Bundy has racked up more than $1.1 million in unpaid grazing fees while losing federal court cases on the matter. Rangers contend his cattle also are treading on protected habitat of the endangered desert tortoise.

So the BLM said you're charged with threatening Tortoise. Then without trial said ok you're guilty. The said pay us 1 million dollars so you can let your cows eat?

That makes no sense. Also if Bundy didn't disperse, and then was arrested, why charge him with resisting arrest? He just didn't leave, seems to me like he went peacefully so why the resisting charge?

Resisting arrest is the go to catch all when the thugs have nothing else to charge a person with. They've been doing it for decades. The odd thing here that rarely gets mentioned is Bundy tried to pay. The federal office sent his check back uncashed.

Where was this outrage when the news first reported of the impending round-up? Why did he wait until the round-up was already in progress? Grandstanding ,he is. He should have told the BLM to stay out of Nevada and sent the Highway Patrol out there to keep the BLM officials away.

Good first step for the RINO Sandoval. Now he needs to take another and send in the state troopers to guard Nevadans from the federal thugs and to dismantle the unfree speech zones. Don't leave it up the criminal federal agents to do it. They wont. The step after that is to send in the Nevadan Guard to remove the federal agents from Nevadan soil. Last step, start the political process for secession from the federal government. It has nothing we need or want. It takes far more than ol' Reid manages to get back to Nevada. Why remain in the union?

Bundy is a nut job who has broken the law, lost in court over and over, and owes US 1.1 million. His cattle should be rounded up. It should have been done years ago. Everything he owns will probably be seized to pay his ever increasing bill and whose fault will that be? Sadly, crazy old Bundy himself. The dusty old fart should have ridden off into the sunset with all of his wives in tow long ago. The governor knows what is right. I'm sure he remembers that "free speech zones" were born during George W. Bush's tenure to keep protesters blocks and sometimes even a mile or more away from his events. He's just bowing to the right-wing hypocritical pressure he's feeling and trying to placate the most extreme portion of his party. Most politicians, I guess, are just politicians in the end.

The proliferation of federal agencies with armed agents is one of the most worrisome aspects of the growth in government. Just last summer the EPA carried out an armed raid on a mine in Alaska to enforce the Clean Water Act — a bit of government intimidation that residents say was totally unnecessary:

When was the last time your family lived on a ranch, cows that grazed there and NOW they want "grazing fees", revenue, revenue anyway the government can get it. So they will round up his livelihood, sell the cows for slaughter and keep the money. The man "owes" 1.1m to the BLM BUT the same fools will spend 1M of OUR money to round up the cows. Yeah he has made some veiled threats but has never acted on them, so then why don't they just assign a few federal officers to monitor the guy and his family while they are doing the roundup? Or get some sort of court order to put the guy and his family under house arrest or something. You go out there and it looks like they have the hunt for Rambo going on with all of the law enforcement officers they have.

I agree with Sandoval. Those First Ammendment Areas are a joke. Let's seal off thousands of acres of land then have two 1/4 acre sized pens for people to protest.

It's time for you to urge our two US senators & four US congressmen to draft legislation to take back OUR land. Also...you should direct our state legislature to begin working on the steps to coordinate this. And you should direct the BLM to cease & desist...NOW. Just wondering...are the two BLM agents who shot and killed the disoriented young man near Red Rocks a part of this illustrious federal squad?

I don't support ranchers that lease BLM land for next to nothing and complain about the wild horses until they are rounded up and removed for more forage for the privately owned livestock while a private person profits as the horses suffer. Yet, I feel for Mr. Bundy and for his cattle and yet they were destined for slaughter to begin with - unlike the wild horses. I can feel the violation, anger, desparation and saddness that no doubt he is feeling as he watches them take his cattle. I can only hope that more ranchers can feel what wild horse advocates have felt for years at every wild horse roundup. At least Mr. Bundy had a choice. He's had 20 years to remove his cattle. 20 years! Still I feel for him and his cattle....

They certainly aren't perfect but to say some people aren't taking advantage of the cheaper grazing rates on federal land is just ridiculous. That's why there's so much livestock all over the place. A cushy deal for livestock owners grazing their livestock on public lands as opposed to buying their own land.

Why? Livestock owners pay much cheaper to graze their livestock on
federal lands without owning it. The private landowner has to buy their
own land at a higher price and graze their livestock on their own land.

Kimme dear, there is absolutely no way to just take land under the control of the FEDERAL government. That would be tantamount to insurrection and mutiny, that tactic was used before and it pretty much failed in bloody disaster for the cowpokes trying to take the land. The ones that survived the gunfight where hung as insurrectionist and inciting mayhem. Happened in texas, Missouri and couple other places through the years and not one attempt took or held one acre of dusty ground. Bundy needs to repay his debt and get his cows back so read my other post on how to do it.!~

I am telling you if Bundy wants his cattle back we need to turn this into a full blown media spectacle, with thing people love to do PARTY! A fund raising party. Bring in as many acts for vegas to hear that they can get. Do the Car shows, a rodeo, roping and bull riding. If your gonna save ol man Bundies hide no pun intended we gotta do the unexpected. No guns, no rifles, no angry rhetoric, but we get beer and a car show to. If anyone thinks this might be worthy idea arrow up if not I was out of mind and have no memoiry of this incident. Old man Bundy you got this pot boiling, you better look out the box to see what you can salvage and damn fast. The cows are probably going to be gone in a week.

Are you sure these aren't Bundy *supporters*, because the 2 men pictured don't appear to be wearing uniforms. Granted, the photo is from a long way off, but how do you "know" these were "snipers"?

every one of these blm officers were spotted last friday at a local hotel in vegas wearing full combat gear and fully armed. i can assure you that the feds have all the taxpayers resources at their disposal with this operation. I couldnt find the law that states federal law enforcement officers cannot wear denim.

Still, jeans, a white shirt sticking out at the back, and a jacket... that doesn't sound like "full combat gear" OR BLM ranger uniforms. I'm not necessarily arguing with you, but for as official an oppression as some of you guys are making this out to be, jeans don't "seem" to fit the profile. Also, as you likely well know, there have been numerous offers of "help" to Rancher Bundy, from militia groups, etc., so the possibility certainly exists that these are actually supporters rather than "snipers."

In any case, caution and protection for the staff and contractors is certainly warranted, given the "any means necessary" comments by Rancher Bundy over the years.

Something to give Mr. Bundy to fight back with money. Anyone know Randy Black if anyone can through the logistics for a big party together fast its him and his staff. Well it was a idea that didn't involve killing men women and maybe children. Going up against the feds is pure stupidty.

But there was no problem whatsoever when Obama pushed support for the Nevada Ivanpah Solar facility. That project caused the loss or significant degradation of 3,520 acres of tortoise habitat and the harm of 57–274 adult tortoises, 608 juveniles, and 236
eggs inside the work area, and 203 adult tortoises and 1,541 juvenile tortoises outside the work area. The BLM determined that most of the juvenile tortoises on the project were killed.

Last Man Standing – Federal Fascism Cowboys Up In Nevada

I’m from Nevada and trust me when I say there is a long and deep hatred of the BLM there. Cliven Bundy, the last rancher in Clark County, Nev., and his family has run a ranch there for well over a 100 years. Their cattle have fed off open range grazing freely, until 1993, when the US government decided they wanted to extort Bundy by charging him fees to let his cattle feed on a ranch that he oversees. Now, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has moved in with officials armed with machine guns, who are surrounding the ranch and forcibly removing the owner’s cattle, according to the rancher’s family. This is with the help of hired cowhands. Shame on them. Bundy won’t go down without a fight – you see, he’s fighting for his family and his Constitutional rights and he’s willing to go down for it. He’s not alone by any means… this whole situation could turn into another Ruby Ridge or Waco — the Feds are making their fascist point: we own all of the land and you can pay up or have it seized.
After 20 years of court battles, the BLM finally got a corrupt judge to issue a federal court order to have Bundy’s “trespass cattle” forcibly removed with heavy artillery, the family said. Heavy handed doesn’t begin to cover it here.

“The battle’s been going on for 20 years,” Bundy told theWashington Free Beacon. “What’s happened the last two weeks, the United States government, the bureaus are getting this army together and they’re going to get their job done and they’re going to prove two things. They’re going to prove they can do it, and they’re gonna prove that they have unlimited power, and that they control the policing power over this public land. That’s what they’re trying to prove.”
Bundy said the government has brought everything but tanks and rocket launchers.

I’m sick of this. I’m sick of the Feds breaking down our doors with SWAT teams in the dead of night. I’m sick of warrantless search and seizures. I’m sick of them seizing our property and forcing us to prove innocence to get it back. I’m sick to death of the spying and bullying. And I think the rest of America feels the same way. These jack booted thugs are taking away this family’s livelihood that they have owned and worked for since 1870… now they’ve arrested his son. Bring on the Range War you asshats. I wish I was back in Nevada, I’d be standing with the “Red Dawn” supporters out there. The Feds are saying the protestors violated a “First Amendment Area” that was cordoned off by these brown shirts. WTF? What the bloody hell does that mean? Hundreds told the goons they could stuff it and protested any way.
This is the fricking EPA Marxists at work over the endangered desert tortoise. More Agenda 21 forced upon the people – more government regulation and control. These radical environmentalist thugs are cheering all this. You are evil and we’ve had enough.

Environmentalists are praising the government’s forceful actions, which are being taken to protect the “desert tortoise.”
“We’re heartened and thankful that the agencies are finally living up to their stewardship duty,” said Rob Mrowka, a Nevada-based senior scientist with the Center for Biological Diversity. “The Gold Butte area has been officially designated as critical habitat for threatened tortoises—meaning the area is essential to their long-term survival as a species.”
“[Cliven] Bundy has long falsely believed that Gold Butte is his ranch,” added Terri Robertson, president of Friends of Sloan Canyon.
The BLM designated 186,909 acres of the Gold Butte off-limits for the “critical desert tortoise” population in 1998. Bundy had already lost his grazing permit five years earlier for refusing to pay fees for the land, which his family has ranched since the 1870s.
The “federal grazing fee” is $1.35 per “Animal Unit Month,” or the amount of forage needed per animal, each month. Bundy said he owes roughly $300,000 in back fees, while the BLM asserts he owes over $1 million. The BLM defended the removal because Bundy did not “voluntarily” give up his cattle.

So, the government just decided they own the land and that is the way it is, huh? Screw the government. And I mean that. I am beyond angry over this and am struggling not to get profane here.

“We’ve had enough, we’re going to take our land back, we’re done,” said Bundy’s wife, Carol Bundy, adding that the rally was held “to show that we are not standing alone. People are getting tired of the federal government having unlimited power.”
More than 100 supporters violated a crudely taped off “First Amendment Area” to rally in support of the Bundy family, erecting two flagpoles with the words “We the People” attached, above a flag which read, “Liberty Freedom For God We Stand”. The first amendment area stood empty, with one sign nearby declaring, “1st Amendment is not an area.”
“I grew up on this ranch. This is what we knew,” said Margaret Houston, Cliven Bundy’s younger sister. “It’s got nothing to do with the cattle and the tortoises. It’s about taking our rights — power — and it’s wrong.”
“Right now it looks like the movie Red Dawn,” said, Ryan Bundy. “Right now we’ve got 200 plus federal agents up there in a military compound that they have put together and they’ve got snipers….everybody’s armed, and they’ve been monitoring our ranch with high-tech surveillance equipment….it was never about the grazing fees, it’s about control.”
Ranch manager Derrel Spencer warned that a “revolution” was brewing unless a solution could be found to settle the dispute.
As we reported yesterday in an article that has already garnered over 4300 comments, Bundy’s son Dave Bundy was arrested on Sunday by BLM officials after refusing to follow a dispersal order as he filmed cattle from a state highway. According to Dave’s brother Ryan Bundy, snipers had guns trained on them throughout the incident. Feds claimed Dave Bundy had violated the ludicrous “First Amendment Area,” outside of which free speech is banned.

Trained snipers have their sites on these people, just itching for a bloodbath:
I would ask these Feds how they sleep at night? How do you justify this and live with yourselves? Have you really pledged all to the government and have forgotten what it is to be a free American? Obviously, you’ve made your choice. Well, mine is made too and I stand with the Bundys. After his son’s arrest, Cliven Bundy posted a statement on his website which read, “They have my cattle and now they have one of my boys. Range War begins tomorrow.” Damned straight Cliven – they stepped way over the line. They arrested his son and threw him physically on the ground for taking pictures. The BLM said they took Dave Bundy into custody following his “failure to comply with multiple requests by BLM law enforcement to leave the temporary closure area on public lands.”
This is what arming the Fed to the teeth brings and don’t kid yourselves, the Bundys are not an isolated case. They are coming after many of us and this is just one line in the sand. This is Obama’s new homeland military force in action:

“They’re carrying the same things a soldier would,” he said. “Automatic weapons, sniper rifles, top communication, top surveillance equipment, lots of vehicles. It’s heavy soldier type equipment.”
His wife, Carol Bundy, said that roughly 200 armed agents from the BLM and FBI are stationed around their land, located about 75 miles outside of Las Vegas. Helicopters circle the premises, and the airspace and nearby roads remain blocked.
“We’re surrounded,” Carol Bundy said. “We’re estimating that there are over 200 armed BLM, FBI. We’ve got surveillance cameras at our house, they’re probably listening to me talk to you right now.”

Video has been taken of helicopters and cowboys removing the cattle, but true to their evil nature, the Feds are lying about it. What did you expect? They are claiming their security is in place because ‘they’ have been threatened. That’s rich and so typically Progressive. As of Monday, officials had seized 234 of Bundy’s 908 cattle. Impounding the cattle alone could cost the government as much as $3 million, but to the Bundys, it is priceless in its devastation.
The sheriff and governor there are being cowards. They say there is nothing they can do. No… they don’t want to get into a pissing contest with the government. Weakness is being bleated from politicians who could damn well put a stop to this:

“And our sheriff says he just doesn’t have authority, our governor says he doesn’t have authority, and we’re saying, why are we a state?”
“I’m a producer,” Cliven Bundy said. “I produce edible commodity from the desert forage, and all of these things are governed under state law. So, in other words, this type of government has eliminated all of our state law, eliminated our state sovereignty, and has took control over our public lands and even took control over our Clark County sheriff. They’ve taken the whole county over. The whole state, almost.”
“This is just about power of the government,” Carol Bundy said.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval (R.) voiced his concern about so-called “First Amendment Areas,” designated locations set up by the BLM where citizens can protest the removal.
“Most disturbing to me is the BLM’s establishment of a ‘First Amendment Area’ that tramples upon Nevadans’ fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution,” he said in a statement Tuesday.
“To that end, I have advised the BLM that such conduct is offensive to me and countless others and that the ‘First Amendment Area’ should be dismantled immediately,” he said. “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans. The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”
Sandoval also said his office has received numerous complaints about the BLM’s conduct, including road closures and “other disturbances.”

Nice speech Governor, how about putting something behind your words? Offensive? That’s an understatement if I’ve ever heard one and you know it. Grow a set and kick the Feds out, it’s your state damn it. The Bundys will do whatever they have to. They’ll protect their family and land, no matter the cost. What’s your cost? What are you doing? A tough-as-nails rancher will be the last man standing as federal fascism cowboys up in Nevada. I feel a revolutionary rallying call coming on.
