Black Unemployment Rate Hits All-Time Low

In the month of December, the unemployment rate for black Americans dropped to just 6.8 percent, which is the lowest ever recorded. Prior to this month, the previous record was 7.4 percent in 2000.

The government has been tracking unemployment by race for 45 years, since 1972.


The Hispanic unemployment rate remains at a near record low of just 4.9 percent, up just a bit from the record of 4.7 percent in November of last year.


White unemployment sits at 3.7 percent, while only 2.5 percent of Asians are unemployed.

The overall unemployment rate is just 4.1 percent.


The number of jobs created in December was 148,000, which is lower than expected. Jobs are the lagging indicator in any economy, so with all the other numbers moving up, hopefully job creation will soon follow.

Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% from the previous month, and are up 2.5% when compared to last year.


With unemployment so low, job growth should mean wage gains. More jobs than people looking for them puts employees in the driver’s seat. Also good news for workers is the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. This can only mean better wages and more job opportunities, especially for unskilled, entry, and blue-collar workers — those who have been left behind more than any other group.

Yeah, I've listened to it for 20 years right here in DemoQuack controlled eastern part of the state where I now live. Globalists are pigs, open border advocates are pigs, DemoQuacks are pigs, and these "DACA Activists" ... they're pigs in lipstick. All rotten to the core who have collectively bankrupted our country, caused immeasurable suffering, loss, harm and damage to our dear citizens, and any Republican who sides with them on trade or immigration needs the BOOT and a criminal investigation for bribery, because no one in their right mind would ever support amnesty or even the eternally DUMB DACA DEAL otherwise. No politician willing to starve Americans to accommodate illegal aliens is in this because of "heart", oh no, they in this because they're either dumber than goats or they're on the take with the drug cartels behind illegal immigration into the United States.

You're absolutely right Judy. Here in the Chicago area you see black people on the news all the time saying that they need jobs and having jobs is the number one thing that would stop most of the killings and violence on the south side.

And since we mention it, I read on here somewhere where a Chicago politician said that we here in Chicago need more illegal aliens because we are short of workers. My response to that post was about all the black people here in Chicago who keep begging and pleading for jobs. What about them? They are willing to work, but these stupid Democrat Chicago politicians, who by the way, get the black vote because of all their false promises, are trying to say that we don't have enough workers, while completely ignoring Chicago's black community which keeps begging for jobs.

I wish I could find that post. I would really like to know who that politician was, because I don't remember who it was. I would like to see the black community, as well as others, rip this guy to shreds about his comments on how we here in Chicago need more illegal aliens while there are so many Chicagoans out of work. If anyone can find that old thread on here, please let me know.
