Democratic California state Senator Leland Yee will become the poster boy for the most hypocritical leftist gun control advocacy after being arrested Wednesday night for allegedly trafficking in… you guessed it! Guns!

Not just any guns, mind you – he is being accused of looking into supplying assault weapons and shoulder-launched missiles to rebel Muslims. Yes. Really:

On Page 84 of a federal criminal complaint, the undercover agent “UCE 4599″ describes a conversation with Senator Leland Yee and political consultant Keith Jackson and about sales of guns, assault weapons, and even shoulder-launched missiles to support Muslim rebels fighting the government in the Philippines.

In other parts of the Federal criminal complaint, Yee is said to have relayed to undercover agent that his gun trafficking source brought in his weapons from Russia, but had contacts in Ukraine, Boston and Southern California. One of Yee’s associates was also arrested for some pretty heinous acts committed under the humorous moniker of “Shrimp Boy.”

    From the LA Times:

The organized crime figure known as Shrimp Boy, whose name is Raymond Chow, identifies himself as the “dragon head” of that Freemason organization on his Facebook page. The indictment says that Chow, 54, whose criminal history includes racketeering and robbery, has a position of “supreme authority” in the Triad, an international organized crime group.

…The federal complaint reads like a bad crime novel with off-the-books firearms deals made in parking lots and confessions whispered in a booth at a karaoke bar. Chow is described as a “judge” in his organization — if one member of the group kills another, it’s up to Chow to determine whether the killing was justified.

Leland Yee had worked on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s campaign, and got her endorsement for his own campaign. While the video above from the LA Times neglects to admit it, Yee was an outspoken advocate of gun control. In the news report below, Yee is shown saying that there is no reason for any Californian to own an “assault weapon.” He histrionically declares that there can be “no debate, no discussion:”

Can you taste the hypocrisy? Here’s a pretty amazing tweet from his gun ban advocacy:

Certain members of the media have already been trying to downplay the incredible charges, so don’t expect to see the story developed too much in the mainstream media. We’ll have up to date developments as soon as possible.

California Democratic State Senator and candidate for California Secretary of State, Leland Yee, a gun control advocate, has been charged with conspiring to traffic in firearms and public corruption. Interesting enough, the Brady Campaign has previously honored Yee for violence prevention.

California Democrat And Gun Control Advocate Charged With Arms Trafficking

California Democratic State Senator and candidate for California Secretary of State, Leland Yee, a gun control advocate, has been charged with conspiring to traffic in firearms and public corruption. The charges are part of a 26 person criminal complaint and a major FBI sting operation. The full criminal complaint is a massive 137 pages that tells the story of Yee’s involvement with a broad ranging conspiracy that includes firearms trafficking, murder-for-hire, drug distribution, trafficking in contraband cigarettes, money laundering, and honest services fraud.

Yee is charged with “conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms” as well as six counts of honest services fraud. Each corruption charge is punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, while the gun-trafficking charge is punishable by up to five years and $250,000.
The firearms laws Yee is alleged to have specifically violated make it unlawful for any person:
except a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer, to engage in the business of importing, manufacturing, or dealing in firearms, or in the course of such business to ship, transport, or receive any firearm in interstate or foreign commerce
and make it unlawful for any person:
to transport or ship in interstate or foreign commerce, any stolen firearm or stolen ammunition, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the firearm or ammunition was stolen.
According to the criminal complaint, Yee was involved in a wide ranging scheme to make an end run around campaign finance laws. Yee sought to illegally raise funds to retire his debt from his failed mayoral campaign so that he could clear the way for his run for California Secretary of State. Working with San Francisco political consultant Keith Jackson, Yee used his power and influence to perform official acts in exchange for donations. On one occasion, Yee agreed to call a manager at the California Department of Public Health to urge support of a contract that was under consideration by the agency, Yee also agreed to provide an official letter of support in exchange for a $10,000 campaign donation. On another occasion, Yee agreed to introduce donors to various state legislators with influence over pending and proposed medical marijuana legislation, Yee is alleged to have done so in exchange for $11,000 in cash.

State Senator Leland Yee (D-CA), an anti-gun anti-violent video game legislator was arrested on charges he trafficked in firearms and violated corruption laws.

The FBI also alleges that Yee facilitated a meeting between arms dealers and undercover agents in exchange for campaign donations. The goal of the meetings was to aid the undercover agent in the purchase and importation of a large number of weapons. Yee and Jackson were involved in the trafficking conspiracy to such a degree that they even discussed the specific details of the types of weapons the undercover agent was interested in buying and importing.
Yee is the third California Senate Democrat embroiled in criminal charges this year, with the others charged with offenses ranging from corruption to voter fraud. Yee was one of the first California legislators to introduce legislation following the shootings in Newton, Connecticut. He earned a “D” grade on gun rights from the National Rifle Association, and The Gun Owners of California gave him a 0% rating on gun rights in 2008. Within minutes of the FBI raiding, Yee’s office, the NRA tweeted “Federal officials raided anti-gun CA Sen Leland Yee’s office at the Capitol, carting away 9 packages of evidence.”

Ho-Lee S*** – Anti-Gun California Senator Arrested for Gun Trafficking

    MARCH 27 2014
    BY DAN CANNON

You cannot make this stuff up.

California State Sen. Leland Yee has been one of the most adament anti-gun politicians in California for a long while now. Yee was actually the lawmaker who proposed regulating 3D printers in order to cut down on 3D printed firearms.
Yesterday, it was announced Senator Yee is being indicted on… wait for it… arms trafficking.
Do as I say not as I do indeed.

According to the San Jose Mercury News,
Yee is charged with conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms, as well as six counts of scheming to defraud citizens of honest services. Each corruption count is punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, while the gun-trafficking count is punishable by up to five years and $250,000.
The charges are particularly shocking given that Yee has been among the state Senate’s most outspoken advocates both of gun control and of good-government initiatives.
“It seems like nobody knew this was coming, and everyone is astounded by the allegations,” said Corey Cook, director of the University of San Francisco’s Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good. “I’m just astonished… Political corruption is one thing, but this is a whole other level.”

Gun Control Fanatic Senator Leland Yee Finally Arrested On Corruption Charges

    Posted on: March 26th, 2014

    Irony and hypocrisy.

    Check it out:

I’ve been saying that Leland Yee was a criminal for years…federal authorities finally paid attention.
Yee was arrested by the FBI Wednesday morning for public corruption. While this isn’t terribly surprising given Lee’s track record of ignoring what was morally and ethically right, what IS slightly surprising is that among the charges being leveled against Yee is GUN TRAFFICKING. How poetically ironic.
Yee doesn’t seem as happy in the back of a FBI Agent’s car as he was when he was persecuting law abiding gun owners in California.
This isn’t even your typical white collar politician crime which consists of kickbacks and quid quo pro arrangements. Yee is being charged with conspiring to traffic in firearms and who is conspiring with? Yee is now being linked to Chinese Mafioso Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, former soldier in San Francisco’s Hop Sing Tong gang.

Sen. Yee charged with trafficking firearms in sweeping FBI probe

    By Times Staff Writers
    March 26, 2014, 4:30 p.m.

This post has been corrected, as indicated below.

State Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) was charged Wednesday with conspiring to commit wire fraud and traffic firearms, part of a sweeping public corruption case outlined by federal prosecutors.
The charges sent shock waves through the San Francisco and Sacramento political establishments, as FBI agents searched Yee's Capitol office. Last year the FBI raided the offices of Sen. Ron Calderon (D-Montebello), who was targeted in a bribery sting.
In all, 26 people, including former school board president Keith Jackson, were indicted on charges related to an extensive crime ring headed by well-known Chinatown figure Raymond Chow, who was also arrested and charged Wednesday.
The indictment alleges Yee and Jackson defrauded "citizens of honest services" and were involved in a scheme to traffic firearms in exchange for thousands in campaign donations to the senator.
Federal prosecutors also allege Yee agreed to perform official acts in exchange for the money, including one instance in which he introduced a businessman to state legislators who had significant influence over pending medical marijuana legislation. In exchange, the businessman -- who was actually an undercover FBI agent -- agreed to donate thousands to Yee's campaign fund, according to the indictment.
The indictment also describes an August 2013 exchange in which Jackson told an undercover officer that Yee had an arms-trafficking contact. Jackson allegedly said Yee could facilitate a meeting for a donation.
Chow, who has been connected over the years to the criminal gang Wo Hop To and is known as "Shrimp Boy," was indicted for money laundering, conspiracy to receive and transport stolen property, and conspiracy to traffic contraband cigarettes.
The indictment was unsealed in federal court in downtown San Francisco after FBI and other law enforcement officials carried out multiple raids early Wednesday.
The gun charges go against Yee's stand as a gun control advocate.
In 2006, Yee was named to the Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll by the Brady Campaign for his efforts that included co-authoring a first-in-the-nation bill to require new semiautomatic handguns be equipped with ballistics identification technology known as micro-stamping.
In 2013, he stood with law enforcement officials and then-Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to propose a bill that would regulate assault weapons.
Yee was prohibited from running for reelection to the Senate this year because of term limits and had launched a campaign to become the state’s top elections officer.
He was among eight candidates for the statewide post and had spent more than $600,000 so far this year on his candidacy, ending up March 17 with $135,000 in the bank, the third-largest amount reported by the candidates in filings this week.
State Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima) leads the pack with $614,426 left in his political account.
Other contenders include Dan Schnur, a no-party-preference candidate, who reported $260,441 in his campaign account; Democrat Derek Cressman, who had $77,316 on hand; and Republican candidate Pete N. Peterson, who had $1,637 in available funds.
[For the Record, 7:15 p.m. PST, March 26: A previous version of this post stated Yee is one of five candidates for secretary of State. He is one of eight.]
