China Sends 150K Troops To North Korean Border

China Sends 150K Troops To North Korean Border

    GLOBAL TENSIONS RISING … EVERYWHERE

Things are escalating quickly … all over the world.
In addition to the powder keg in Syria – needlessly stoked by an ill-conceived American escalation last week – there is looming destabilization in Asia.

According to Chosun, a Korean news agency, the People’s Republic of China has moved an estimated 150,000 troops to the border of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (a.k.a. North Korea) in order to prepare for “unforeseen circumstances.”

Among such unforeseen circumstances? The possibility of “military action” by the United States.

Over the weekend, U.S. president Donald Trump ordered the U.S.S. Carl Vinson (CVN – 70) – a 1980 Nimitz-class aircraft carrier – and three guided-missile destroyers to break off planned exercises in Australia and head toward the Korean peninsula.

This redirection was ostensibly ordered in response to North Korea’s latest missile test – in which a nuclear-capable intermediate-range ballistic missile called the Pukguksong-2 was successfully fired for the second time.

Both North Korean missile tests took place as Trump was welcoming key Asian leaders for meetings at his Winter White House in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

The Chinese military posturing comes two months after its government announced the immediate suspension of coal imports from North Korea – cutting off a vital economic lifeline for North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. That move seemed to be in keeping with Trump’s calls for Chinese leader Xi Jinping to deal more aggressively with the rogue nation, which continues to pursue an aggressive nuclear program against the wishes of the international community.

The Chinese know how to protect their borders. Maybe we could learn a thing or two. Eh?

Reports Of 150,000 Troops Moving On The Korean Border Are ‘Pure Fiction’

There “is no evidence” at this time of any significant troop movements along the Chinese-North Korean border, despite reports suggesting otherwise, the Department of Defense told The Daily Caller News Foundation Monday.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that China has deployed 150,000 troops to the border for “unforeseen contingencies” believed to be the possibility of a U.S. pre-emptive strike on North Korea, such as the one President Donald Trump ordered on Syria last Thursday.

U.S. Pacific Command refused to comment on foreign troop movements; however, they did tell TheDCNF that the first they had heard of Chinese troop movements along the border was when a reporter called for comment.

China’s foreign ministry called the reports “pure fiction,” with Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Hua Chunying saying, “I have no idea where these reports are coming from.”

The story originated with South Korea’s Chosun, which reported that the Chinese troops are medical and support units sent out to deal with a potential North Korean refugee crisis and other possible problems that might arise from a contingency on the Korean Peninsula. The report also suggested that China mobilized submarine and ground troops, but so far there has been no evidence to corroborate this report.

Media outlets have, in the past, reported that China has moved troops to the border after various incidents, such as the assassination of Kim Jong-un’s brother Kim Jong-nam. At that time, reports suggested that China moved 1,000 additional troops to the area, and while that may have been possible, the movement of 150,000 troops in an area where where war could break out at any time is unlikely to go undetected by U.S. defense departments and U.S. allies in Asia.
