DEMOCRAT CONGRESSWOMAN’S HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE THEORY AS TO WHY OBAMACARE SIGN-UPS HAVE BEEN SO DISAPPOINTING

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) on Monday blamed the Affordable Care Act’s disappointing sign-up numbers on Republicans, claiming that the GOP has somehow convinced Americans that the law has been repealed.
Her remarks were in response to questions about the White House announcing recently that a total of 1.1 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare.
“The goal as has been said, it is seven million people signed up by the end of March,” MSNBC’s Richard Lui said. “Can that happen?”
“Oh, sure,” D.C.’s non-voting delegate said. “When that fine is going to kick in, you’re going to see people trotting to sign on like you’ve never seen it before.”
“What we have been battling now is, first, every time the House couldn’t think of anything else to do, it had a big debate on repealing Obamacare. So, there are millions of people out there who think it was repealed,” she said. “So, there was no way to break through that very easily.”

Approximately 1.1 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare since the healthcare.gov website first launched on October 1, the White House announced Sunday.
The White House hoped to have approximately three million Americans signed up by the end of December.
It seems likely that the White House will miss its goal of having 7.7 million people enrolled and paying by March 31. Economists and lawmakers estimate that a little more than seven million consumers need to enroll by the end of March to keep the program financially stable.
Lastly, keep in mind the administration has yet to build the payment option on the healthcare.gov website, meaning no one has actually paid to enroll in Obamacare. Because there is no payment option on the healthcare.gov website, it’s important to note the distinction between “enrolled” and “signed up.”
As of this writing, 1.1 million Americans have “signed up” for Obamacare — but they are not formally “enrolled.”
