Deputy Pulls Woman Over for Going 31 mph Past Speed Limit in School Zone — Just Listen to Her Jaw-Dropping, Anti-Cop Reaction

After a Florida sheriff’s deputy pulled over a driver for going 51 mph in a 20 mph school zone Sept. 1, the cruiser’s dashcam video showed the deputy getting an earful after he approached the annoyed driver’s window.

    “Ma’am?” the deputy asked.

    “What?” she replied sharply.

“You are being cited for speeding,” he said. “This explains what your options are. Drive safe.”

That apparently would have been the end of it, but the driver gave the deputy a piece of her mind instead.
“You know what?” the woman responded. “No wonder you people get shot. You’re absolute assholes.”

“OK. Thank you, ma’am. I appreciate that,” the deputy said as he prepared to walk back to his cruiser. “Drive safe.”

“You’re welcome,” she said. “Have a nice day.”

The driver then said something not quite intelligible after the officer walked away.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office posted the video to YouTube on Wednesday.

    I was in law enforcement.
I left and started a small business.

'No Wonder You People Get Shot,' Irate Florida Woman Tells Deputy

    by M. ALEX JOHNSON

A remarkably restrained Florida sheriff's deputy calmly thanked an angry driver he'd pulled over for speeding and walked away after she told him: "You know what? No wonder you people get shot."
The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office released dashcam video Thursday of the incident last week. Neither the driver nor the deputy were identified.

In the video, the deputy explains that the woman has been pulled over for driving 51 mph in a 20-mph school zone.

She spends much of the stop begging to get off with a warning, but the deputy rejects her request on the grounds that she was speeding through a school zone.

Near the end, after getting the ticket, she says, "You know what? No wonder you people get shot. You're absolute a--holes."

To which the deputy calmly responds: "OK, thank you ma'am. I appreciate that."

He then tells her to "drive safe."

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw called the incident "disappointing" on Thursday.

"This is a deputy trying to make sure that children are safe and don't get killed in a school zone. He was doing his job," Bradshaw told NBC station WPTV of West Palm Beach. "And I think it's totally unacceptable for somebody to talk to a deputy or any law enforcement officer like that, when that's what they are trying to do — to protect our children."

Replies to the post on the sheriff's office's Twitter account praised and thanked the deputy for his restraint.

Oh, thank you! I missed that in the first article. I re-read it and it says "cited for speeding", so yeah that's why she called him an asshole. Well, that's free speech, then. Not something I would do or say in that circumstance, but with a ticket, she's within her rights.

The officer was still very nice about it. She better be careful, the next one might drag her out of the car and tase her to death.

Law enforcement has a very serious public relations problem, and one they brought all upon themselves. Just wait until the truth comes out about that Fox Lake Shooting. People are going to go wild. I guess that's why they're dragging it out.

She was driving 31 mph over the speed limit in a school zone, then calls the arresting officer an A$$. That woman deserves jail time for endangering someone's grandchildren and a loss of DL for life is appropriate, IMO.

Well, that's not really the case. Look around, there's no school, there's no kids, it's 4:30 in the afternoon, it's a divided 4 lane highway, school's been out for at least an hour. It's one of those speed traps to raise revenue. I'm not supporting her, only her right to say whatever she feels like because she's pissed she got a ticket, which has a lot of consequences. She may not be from the area, may not have realized she was in a school zone, may have not seen the sign, and didn't reduce speed, normal speed limit is probably 45 to 50 or more on that road, so maybe a warning would have been a better way to go. Cops used to do the warnings a lot, but now it's all about the money and points and higher insurance and legal fees. Your children and grandchildren would be safer if cops spent their time arresting and deporting illegal aliens instead of harrassing someone in a school zone when school isn't even in session.

Woman walks into police station to give officer a hug

A surveillance image from a police station in Colorado captured the moment when an 83-year-old woman, upset with recent violence against police officers, wanted to give someone a hug.

If she didn't see the sign it's all the more reason to ticket her. She was driving distracted or has a vision problem.

Well, I just hope everyone gets one of those tickets who thinks it's the right thing to do.
