Did Fox News Host Shep Smith Just Call Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day The 'National Day Of Intolerance'?

Tommy Christopher at Mediaite flags a clip from Fox News' Studio B with Shepard Smith today, pointing out that Smith appears to refer to Mike Huckabee's "Chick-Fil-Appreciation Day" as the "National Day of Intolerance."

"It's National Badminton Day," Smith says. "Forget National Day of Intolerance, let's just stick with badminton."

Although Smith does not elaborate, it's reasonable to assume he is referring to today's national outpouring of conservative support for Chick-Fil-A, the fast-food company that has come under fire recently for its owner's opposition to gay marriage.

In a marked departure from his fellow Fox News hosts, Smith has been a vocal supporter of same-sex marriage, even going so far as to question whether the GOP would remain "firmly, without much question, on the wrong side of history" on the issue after President Barack Obama shifted his stance on gay marriage earlier this year.
