    e-Verify Question

    Hello,

Does e-Verify have the ability to determine if a person is using someone else's identification? For example, an illegal alien presents a valid SSN, name belonging to that SSN, perhaps DOB belonging to that SSN, etc to his/her employer. Of course that info belongs to a citizen or legal immigrant. Does e-Verify say, "Yes, this person is allowed to work in the USA" or would it pick-up the fraud? For example, "This name has already been checked 26 times this year by e-Verify. Please throw-up a red flag!"

If it doesn't pick-up the fraud, it is still a useful system to an extent, but would have a giant hole in it.

Ask yourself why doesn't the government notify you, the legitimate holder of your SS# when it notices it is also being used somewhere else?

I believe it is purposely done to facilitate IAs getting jobs. Sadly it also allows criminal IAs to ruin your credit and the 'fixing' of it is left to you.

It should be required that use of SSN used in two places that the person given the numbers is notified. Even if the police has to track the individual down. Common courtesy and common sense. And IRS should be in on the issue of locating the person given the number, too.

Im pretty sure that if someone want to get away with it they can, but you would think that it would show that the number is already being used.
