BROWNSVILLE -The man once tasked with heading federal corruption investigations is before a federal judge. He is expected to be sentenced in his own criminal case.

Eugenio Pedraza headed the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General.

Federal prosecutors charged Pedraza with falsifying case reports and records.

Prosecutors said Pedraza falsified records and ordered other employees to do the same to cover up the lack of investigative work by his office.

A jury later found Pedraza guilty of conspiring to falsify records in a federal investigation and assisting in the falsification of records.
