High School Students Revolt After Principal Removes Flags From Their Trucks

When four South Carolina high school students showed up to school on the recent anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with American flags flying from their trucks, they were in for a big surprise — the flags were confiscated by the school’s principal.

Woodruff High School principal Aaron Fulmer took the flags from the truck because he said it is against district policy to “draw attention” to one’s vehicle, South Carolina’s CBS affiliate WSPA reported.

The flags were returned to the students at the end of the day, and they were not punished further. However, parents and locals are outraged over the principal’s decision.

Area adults have staged a protest at the school Monday because of it’s apparent zero-tolerance policy as noted in a Facebook post that reads: “PLEASE COME OUT MONDAY MORNING AND STAND UP FOR OUR STUDENTS RIGHTS AND OUR RIGHTS! 7:50 a.m. Sidewalk in front of high school. Bring an American flag with you!!”
Many patriotic parents showed up with flags in hand:



The outraged has led to a promise from Fulmer to look into revising the school’s policy, according to the affiliate.
