Hollywood Film Depicts Trump Supporters Being Hunted For Sport by Liberals

Universal Pictures is sent to release a thriller called The Hunt on September 27, which features left-wing “elites” hunting Trump supporters for sport.
"Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."

Kathy Griffin claims she can’t get work following her photoshoot with a decapitated and bloody Trump head, but don’t let that fool you. Hollywood clearly still likes the idea of promoting violence against people who aren’t good and obedient leftists, because Universal Pictures is set to release a thriller called The Hunt on September 27, which features left-wing “elites” hunting Trump supporters for sport.
In the past few days we’ve been hearing a lot about how Donald Trump’s rhetoric is apparently to blame for the El Paso shooting, yet Hollywood apparently lacked the foresight to think that a movie promoting violence against “deplorables” might be in bad taste until after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, as only now is Universal rethinking their promotional strategy for the film.
"Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables." In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire. The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum's Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.
Over the Aug. 3 weekend, ESPN pulled an ad for the film that it had previously cleared, while AMC ran the spot during the season premiere of its drama The Preacher. It's unclear whether the ads were identical, but the one yanked by ESPN opened with a sound resembling an emergency broadcast signal. A rep for ESPN parent Disney declined to comment on the move, but an ESPN source says no spots for the film will appear on the network in the coming weeks.
According to THR, the movie “features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey.”

You can watch the trailer for The Hunt here:

    Video https://youtu.be/KVlRlV0ZowA

The original title for the film was Red State Vs. Blue State, so the political themes of the movie are clearly important to the plot. THR says that The Hunt “made some executives at Universal skittish back in May 2018, when film chief Donna Langley acquired the script and fast-tracked it at a modest $18 million budget,” but several studios “did not pursue it because of the explosive premise.” One studio executive reportedly didn’t even bother reading the script because "The idea seemed crazy." The movie was produced by Jason Blum, who also produced other well-known horror flicks like The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and Get Out.
The script for The Hunt features the red-state characters wearing trucker hats and cowboy shirts, with one bragging about owning seven guns because it's his constitutional right. The blue-state characters — some equally adept with firearms — explain that they picked their targets because they expressed anti-choice positions or used the N-word on Twitter. "War is war," says one character after shoving a stiletto heel through the eye of a denim-clad hillbilly.
How exactly did anyone think this was a good idea even before the El Paso and Dayton shootings? In June 2017, a Bernie Sanders supporter and left-wing activist shot at Republican members of Congress who were practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game for charity. The shooter had specifically inquired as to whether the team practicing was made of Republicans or Democrats. The same year, Senator Rand Paul was assaulted by his own neighbor and just this past week had part of his lung surgically removed because of injuries sustained in that attack. Apparently, some in Hollywood are more than willing to promote violence against Trump supporters. Meanwhile, Democrats and liberals in the media want us to believe that it's Trump’s rhetoric that needs to be toned down.

Ads Pulled for Hollywood Film About Liberal Elites Hunting, Killing Conservatives

Universal Pictures pulls ads for horror movie 'The Hunt' in wake of mass-shootings

© press Horror movie 'The Hunt' is about liberal elites who hunt and kill 'deplorables'

Hollywood executives have pulled ads for a new horror movie about liberal elites who hunt and kill conservatives for sport.

Universal Pictures' upcoming film, "The Hunt," centers around a retreat for rich, elite liberals who are physically hunting down and killing "deplorables."

"Deplorables" has been a nickname for President Donald Trump's conservative supporters since the election.

The name was coined by Hillary Clinton, who used the phrase "basket of deplorables" in a 2016 presidential election campaign speech when she was describing Trump's followers. https://neonnettle.com/tags/hillary-clinton

Many Trump supporters adopted the "deplorable" moniker for themselves in reappropriation.

While the movie doesn't mention Trump by name, characters in the movie refer the US leader as the "ratf***er-in-chief" and call the human targets they are hunting "deplorables."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, executives decided to pull advertisements for the film in the wake of the deadly mass killings that took place in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, over the weekend. What are the details?

The outlet reported that the popular film studio pulled television and online promos for the film, which is set to hit theaters on Sept. 27, according to The Blaze. https://www.theblaze.com/news/univer...ng-deplorables

A source told the outlet that discussions over the film itself are a "fluid situation."

"The Hunt" reportedly centers on a "deplorable" who is able to thwart the elitists, "picking them off, one by one, as she seeks to find out who's at the center of the web."

A liberal character in the movie, according to the outlet, can be heard asking, "Did anyone see what our ratf***er-in-chief just did?" apparently referring to the president.

Another can be heard responding, "At least the hunt's coming up. "

Nothing better than going out to the manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.

"The Hollywood Reporter painted a dire picture of the upcoming film:

The script for The Hunt features the red-state characters wearing trucker hats and cowboy shirts, with one bragging about owning seven guns because it's his constitutional right. The blue-state characters — some equally adept with firearms — explain that they picked their targets because they expressed anti-choice positions or used the N-word on Twitter. "War is war," says one character after shoving a stiletto heel through the eye of a denim-clad hillbilly.

One source told The Hollywood Reporter that the project is satire "addressing an issue of great social importance."

© press An executive behind the film says it is 'meant to show what a stupid, crazy world we live in'

What else?An unidentified filmmaker also told the outlet that "employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times."

"In light of the horrific [recent mass killings], is this not the most craven, irresponsible, dangerous exploitation?"

    the source added.

Another film executive with ties to the studio explained that the film is "meant to show what a stupid, crazy world we live in."

"It might be even more powerful now," the executive added.

Actresses Hillary Swank and Betty Gilpin star in the R-rated film, which was originally set to be called "Red State Vs. Blue State."

Ads for ultra-violent satire The Hunt pulled in wake of US mass shootings

Promotion for movie, in which humans are hunted for sport, is stalled after El Paso and Dayton killings and studio reported to be rethinking strategy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, cable network ESPN dropped an ad for the movie that was to air last weekend while studio Universal reassesses its plans for the film, which is due for release on 27 September in the US. The same publication says “a source” at ESPN said that no spots for the film would appear on the network “in the coming weeks”.

Produced by Blumhouse, the studio behind The Purge horror-satire series, and co-written by Lost showrunner Damon Lindelof, The Hunt is being marketed as another such horror, in which a group of 12 “ordinary” Americans find themselves hunted for sport by members of the “global elite” at a remote manor house “in the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory”.

The Hollywood Reporter quotes a Universal executive saying that the studio was responding to the politically “fluid situation” amid a wave of protest in the US against gun violence and white supremacism and that it was discussing plans to change direction over the film’s promotion “if people think we’re being exploitative rather than opinionated”.

The film has not, reportedly, been without opposition inside the film industry. The Hollywood Reporter quoted one anonymous film-maker with “links to Universal” saying: “Employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times … In light of the horrific [recent shootings], is this not the most craven, irresponsible, dangerous exploitation?”

Ads Pulled for Gory Universal Thriller 'The Hunt' in Wake of Mass
    Shootings (Exclusive)

by Kim Masters , Tatiana Siegel

    Universal
Stills from Universal's "Private Hunting Experience" featurette for its R-rated satire 'The Hunt'

In the wake of a trio of deadly massacres, the studio is evaluating its strategy for the R-rated Blumhouse satire in which elites stalk "deplorables."

"Did anyone see what our rat****er-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."

In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire.

    The Hunt
stars Betty Gilpin from GLOW and Hilary Swank, representing opposite sides of the political divide. It features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey. The script from Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter revolves around third-rail political themes. (Original title: Red State Vs. Blue State.)

A studio source says that even before the recent attacks, which left 34 dead in El Paso, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; and Gilroy, California, some reshoots were done based on a recent rough cut. Universal and Blumhouse declined to comment.

While one high-level Universal source says the studio has pulled some ads that are beginning to air and appear online "for content and placement," others say the matter is still under discussion internally. A major ad blitz on television and the web had been planned for the beginning of September, says one insider. A trailer is already online.

Given the fraught political climate — particularly in the wake of the attack in El Paso, which was motivated by anti-immigrant bigotry — studio sources say Universal is evaluating its plans in what one called "a fluid situation." A high-level insider says top executives want to stand by Blum, one of the studio's most prolific and successful producers, as well as filmmaker Craig Zobel, and see the project as a satire addressing an issue of great social importance. But this person says plans could change "if people think we're being exploitative rather than opinionated."

From a business perspective, The Hunt presents a gamble for Universal in these divided times. The satire Assassination Nation, which also pitted the woke versus the unwoke in uber-violent fashion, represented the top sale at Sundance 2018 at $10 million. But the film fizzled upon its release later that year, earning just $2 million with no international rollout. Says one person involved with that film, "We thought people would get the joke."

    The Hunt
made some executives at Universal skittish back in May 2018, when film chief Donna Langley acquired the script and fast-tracked it at a modest $18 million budget. It is unclear whether there were any other bidders on the property, the sale of which was brokered by CAA, but insiders at several studios told THR at the time that they did not pursue it because of the explosive premise. One executive says he didn't even read the script, noting, "The idea seemed crazy."

This is not the first time a studio has been faced with real-life events that rendered a film release more complicated.

Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, for example, Warner Bros. moved back the Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Collateral Damage and abandoned a trailer that featured a bomb attack in the U.S. The 2017 Death Wish remake was delayed several months in response to a mass shooting in Las Vegas. And Oliver Stone's 1994 satire Natural Born Killers was criticized for inspiring copycat killings.

Certainly, satire can be a dicey genre for studios to pull off. Just ask Sony, which became the target of a 2014 hack blamed on the North Koreans over the Seth Rogen comedy The Interview.

"Employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times," says one filmmaker with ties to Universal. "In light of the horrific [recent shootings], is this not the most craven, irresponsible, dangerous exploitation?"

That point is countered by a Universal executive, who says the movie "is meant to show what a stupid, crazy world we live in," adding, "It might even be more powerful now."

Movie Showing Elites Hunting Down Trump Supporters Slated to Hit Theaters in September

A movie showing liberals stalking supporters of President Donald Trump is slated to be released in September but has lost an advertisement on ESPN in the wake of two mass shootings on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4.

The movie, “The Hunt,” from Universal Pictures, shows people hunting down “deplorables,” a term failed presidential contender Hillary Clinton used to describe supporters of Trump during the 2016 campaign.

“Did anyone see what our [expletive]-in-chief just did?” one character asks others early in the movie, reported the Hollywood Reporter. “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”
According to the Reporter, the movie’s script features blue-state characters choosing to hunt red-state characters who expressed pro-life positions or were deemed racist.

One executive who passed on the script told the outlet that he didn’t even read it, adding: “The idea seemed crazy.”
“Employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times,” added a filmmaker with ties to Universal. “In light of the horrific [recent shootings], is this not the most craven, irresponsible, dangerous exploitation?”

Executives have tried billing the film as satire, though it’s unclear what’s satirical about it. A search for interviews from anyone involved with the film didn’t turn up anything.
An inside source told the Reporter that Universal is trying to decide what to do in the wake of the mass shootings. Some executives want to support Blum, one of Universal’s top producers, and Zobel, and view the project as satire. But plans could change “if people think we’re being exploitative rather than opinionated,” the source added.

ESPN pulled an advertisement for the movie over the weekend while AMC aired an ad Sunday night.

According to the official description for the movie, it shows 12 strangers waking up in a clearing. “They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen—for a very specific purpose—The Hunt.”

The movie stars Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, and Emma Roberts, was written by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof, directed by Craig Zobel, and produced by Blumhouse Productions. It’s rated R.

Any Republican or Democrat that does not condemn this film and goes to see it, has seriously mental issues, and needs to be locked up. The creators of this movie should be locked up and put away, with the keys thrown away for the rest of their lives. They put the shit on movies, they put the shit on TV, and then they wonder why we have mass shootings. It’s not Donald Trump or the NRA it’s the sick son of a bitches in Hollywood.

    • Fliers hung on street posts and parking meters in Patchogue read "Death Camps For Trump Supporters Now!" (Shock Theater collective)

PATCHOGUE, NY — A day after anti-Trump supporter fliers in Patchogue caused outrage on social media, a horror theater company has acknowledged it hung the fliers last month as part of promotional video for a show.

The Shock Theater collective told Patch on Wednesday that one of its members had snapped photos of the fliers hanging around town over the weekend. The fliers, seen on street posts and parking meters, read "Death Camps For Trump Supporters Now!!!" Two appeared across the street from Stanley's Bedding Furniture and two more were posted across from the nearby Family Dollar store.

The signs include a skeletal figure wearing a black jacket, white collared shirt and red tie. The words appear in red overlaying the photo.

A member of the Shock Theater collective, a group that creates haunted houses and horror scenarios that people can participate in, on Tuesday said the company was not responsible for hanging the fliers and that it did not know who hung them. On Wednesday, Liam Wallace, who now handles marketing for the company, acknowledged the company had, in fact, hung the fliers, and that the person was not aware of the show. That person no longer works for the collective.

"We had to let go of a Shock Theater member for posting certain things on our Twiiter-that the former member should have been using to promote our shows," the collective wrote in a Facebook post. "These certain things won't be brought up because these certain things pertain to something we can't yet talk about."

The fliers were hung about a month ago for a promotional video as part of a show about the consequences of extremism. They stayed up for no more than two days. The collective stressed it is not pro-Trump nor anti-Trump.

Wallace also said death threats have been sent to Haunting.net, a promoter of the industry, following the initial outrage. One such threat reviewed by Patch said: "I got something for you before we go to the deathcamp!"

"Eat s--- and die," part of the obscenity-laden email read.

A Facebook commenter wrote in response to the collective's post: "So death camps for Trump supporters. I would like to see you try it. Bring it on."

Workers at three businesses on the block told Patch they hadn't seen any fliers Tuesday.

A spokesman for Suffolk County police said they were investigating similar fliers left on vehicles parked on Oak Street in Patchogue on July 25.
