    Lost in bad translation: Accused child sex molester walks, confession tossed

    When Michel Carballea Garcia confessed to molesting his fiancee’s young daughter, a conviction seemed a matter of time, not evidence.

    Yet on Friday, nine months after his arrest, the 24-year-old Garcia walked out of the Naples jail a free man.

    Prosecutors dropped their case after a judge barred Garcia’s confession from trial, determining it wasn’t made with a full understanding of his Miranda rights. Months earlier, a Collier detective admitted that he improperly interpreted the Spanish-English conversation between Garcia and the lead investigator, telling the suspect several times he didn’t need an attorney.

    Collier County and the Liberal News refuses to Post whether individuals are Illegal Aliens ... I'll keep on the look out but the Translation problem is a pretty damn big clue
