McCaskill's office locks doors, pulls blinds, calls cops

McCaskill's Office Locks Doors, Pulls Blinds, Calls Cops & Forces Obamacare Protesters Off Public Property

Local Tea Party patriots held an anti-Obama Care protest at Senator Claire "ACORN" McCaskill’s district offices on Delmar Boulevard today.

The protest was organized by Americans for Prosperity and the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition.

McCaskill's office manager locked the doors, pull down the blinds, called the cops and forced the protesters across the street.

Local tea party protesters Dwight and Lynn talked about the reception they received from McCaskill's office staff:

Local tea party protesters Dwight and Lynn talked about the reception they received from McCaskill's office staff:

Dwight claimed that one office worker flipped off the protesters!

Here comes the police-- Notice the chants in the background "Where is Claire?"

Glenn Reynolds adds, "Yeah, it’s not like these are constituents or anything."

McCaskill's staff told the police they were being threatened.
They look like a rowdy bunch, huh?

A staff member opened the door for the police and said they were being threatened. The staff member took some notes from a few protesters while the police were there and said she'd pass them on to Senator McCaskill.

Glenn Reynolds has updates on Obamacare protests in Raleigh, Dallas and Cleveland. Steve Sabolich sends an email from Cleveland and says that Dennis Kucinich’s staff was shocked so many concerned working Americans took off work to be there.

The comment that caught my attention in the video was that just before the blinds were closed a young man in the upper windoW

BTT - Lest we forget McCaskill's role in Obamacare before the election. Both of damning videos have been scrubbed. Move to General Discussion prior to her run in 2018.

The Missouri Senator also failed to pay $200,000 in taxes on the plane.
Sen. Claire McCaskill disclosed to reporters today that she failed to pay more than $200,000 dollars in personal property taxes to the state of Missouri on a plane that she and her husband co-own.
The Missouri Democrat has vowed to pay back the taxes immediately.

Sen. Claire McCaskill disclosed to reporters today that she failed to pay more than $200,000 dollars in personal property taxes to the state of Missouri on a plane that she and her husband co-own.

The Missouri Democrat has vowed to pay the taxes immediately, and added, "I have convinced my husband to sell the damn plane"

McCaskill paid the Treasury Department more than $88,000 after POLITICO first reported she had used taxpayer dollars to pay for nearly 90 flights on a private charter plane co-owned by McCaskill, her husband and other investors.

"I am being held accountable like I should be," McCaskill told reporters. "I should have been the one to take responsibility and check what had been done properly. I'm being very open about my failure to do that."

Wow. Even Far Left Democrats Believe Claire McCaskill Is Corrupt

Taxes Are For the Little People.

    (KC Citizen)

In March of this year we learned that Claire McCaskill failed to pay over $280,000 on her private plane.

Then we found out Claire McCaskill registered her plane in Delaware, where no taxes are imposed. Then she moved the plane to Illinois, where she avoided paying taxes before she moved it to Missouri, where she ignored paying her taxes.

This scandal moved the Missouri senate race was to a toss-up.

Now even far left democrats are speaking out against Air Claire McCaskill.

    The Hill reported:

Former Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) has tabbed two Democrats and Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.) as fit for “shame” for being too beholden to corporate interests.

Feingold, the former liberal senator who leads a new PAC called Progressives United, singled out House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Lieberman (Conn.), an independent who caucuses with Democrats, for a close relationship with corporations.

“This culture of corporate influence and corruption is precisely what we at Progressives United want to change. So we’ve decided to take on those legislators who are unwilling to stand up to corporate power, and we’re naming names,” Feingold wrote in an email, asking for $5 donations to “shame” those lawmakers with online ads.

BIG NEWS: Feds Paid $40 Million to Claire McCaskill’s Husband’s Businesses

    Jim Hoft Oct 9th, 2012 12:46 pm
    Game Changer?

The federal government paid nearly $40 million dollars to Claire McCaskill’s husband’s businesses her first five years in office as Missouri Senator. During that time McCaskill has had influence over federal policy that has directly affected her family’s income.

Missouri royalty – The rest of the country has suffered but Claire McCaskill and her husband Joseph Shepard have done very well these past five years.

There are renewed calls for Democrat McCaskill to release her tax returns.

    ABC3040 reported:
Businesses affiliated with the husband of Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill have received almost $40 million in federal subsidies for low-income housing developments during her first five years in office, though it appears only fraction of that has made it to the family’s bank accounts, according to an Associated Press analysis.

McCaskill’s Republican challenger, Rep. Todd Akin, says the federal payments should be a cause for concern among voters. He’s attempting to portray the Democratic senator’s family as a prime beneficiary of government largesse.

“There is a conflict of interest and a breach of trust with the citizens of our state,” Akin said in an interview with the AP.

McCaskill campaign spokesman Caitlin Legacki called such assertions “flat-out wrong.”

There is no evidence that McCaskill personally routed the money to her husband’s businesses. But she voted for some – and against other – bills that funded the federal housing and agriculture departments, which in turn provide subsidies to businesses with federal contracts to provide low-income housing.

The AP reviewed five years’ worth of federal personal financial disclosure statements filed by McCaskill, which list more than 300 “affordable housing” businesses in which her husband, Joseph Shepard, had at least a partial ownership during the time she has been in office. At least one-third of those businesses also appear to be listed as recipients of federal payments in an online government database that tracks spending
    .
The firms affiliated with Shepard appear to have received about $39 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service or the Department of Housing and Urban Development between 2007 – when McCaskill took office – and the end of 2011. According to McCaskill’s financial reports, Shepard earned an income of between about $400,000 and $2.6 million from those businesses in the years in which they received government payments.

McCaskill’s campaign declined to make the senator available for an interview about the federal payments and – except for Legacki’s brief statement that Akin’s assertion was wrong – also declined to let campaign staff participate in an on-the-record interview. But the campaign offered a variety of reasons why the payments pose no conflict of interest, including the fact that McCaskill opposed some of the funding bills and that those she supported also included appropriations for a wide variety of government programs.

The campaign said the vast majority of the housing subsidy contracts were initiated before McCaskill became a senator, although Shepard invested in some of them after she was elected and others were renewed during her term in office. The subsidies are intended to cover the gap between the rent paid by the tenant and the value of the housing unit as determined by the federal government. Consequently, much of the subsidy goes to the owners’ operating costs, such as mortgage payments or facility maintenance, the campaign said. Were Congress to not fund the subsidies, the federal government would be defaulting on its obligations, the campaign said.

Akin said McCaskill could have abstained from voting on bills that funded agencies involved in low-income housing developments.

But McCaskill then could have been open to accusations that she shunned her congressional duties – an assertion she has made against Akin for missing numerous House votes during his Senate campaign.
“She has to vote for or against appropriation bills – that’s what the citizens of Missouri hire her to do,” said George Connor, head of the political science department at Missouri State University. But he added: “It seems to me that she has influence over federal policy that has directly benefited her husband.”
McCaskill ranks as one of the wealthiest members in Congress.

And after five years as Missouri Senator, she’s even richer.

MO Sen: Claire McCaskill the Poverty Profiteer

Todd Akin has released a new TV ad criticizing his Democrat opponent, Claire McCaskill, for profiteering from the stimulus bill. The spot identifies three companies that benefited from stimulus programs: Milan Manor Associates; Saddlewood I, LP; and Sunset Hills Apartments, Ltd.

While not mentioned in the video, each of these three companies is described on McCaskill's 2011 personal financial disclosure (embedded below) as "Limited Partnership - Real Estate Affordable Housing". They're low income apartment buildings--like most assets listed in Part IIIB of her disclosure.

While income levels for American workers have fallen to 1989 levels, McCaskill has benefited from government programs intended to help the poor. She's the 18th wealthiest member of the 535 members of Congress. And that wealth was built on an empire of "affordable housing."

Every war has its profiteers and America's longest war, the War on Poverty is no exception. If you want to find the waste in America's welfare programs, you need look no further than McCaskill's bank account.

Dirty, Dirty Claire McCaskill – Husband Joe Shepard Awarded $20 Million in Stimulus to Benefit His Real Estate Projects

    Jim Hoft Oct 25th, 2012 3:24 pm

Claire McCaskill’s husband received over $20 million in Stimulus cash for his real estate projects.

Senator McCaskill at the time had influence over federal policy that directly affected her family’s income.

National Legal and Policy Center reported:

An analysis of public records by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) has found more than $20 million in federal stimulus funds benefitting real estate projects financially tied to Joseph Shepard, husband of Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill.

Earlier this month, the Associated Press published an analysis, stating, “businesses affiliated with the husband of Senator Claire McCaskill have received almost $40 million in federal subsidies for low-income housing developments during her first five years in office…”

The NLPC analysis released today showed more than $20 million in financial benefits from the federal stimulus law to real estate projects associated with McCaskill’s husband, with all of the $20 million benefitting projects different than those identified by the Associated Press story.

While the AP study focused on federal subsidies going to entities listed on Financial Disclosure Reports filed by Senator McCaskill, NLPC reviewed voluminous public records involving the Missouri Tax Credit Fund, L.P. (MTCF), a business listed as an asset by Senator McCaskill on her reports.

None of the six real estate projects identified by NLPC as receiving over $20 million in federal stimulus funds were listed on McCaskill’s Financial Disclosure Reports or covered by the AP analysis.

According to McCaskill’s Financial Disclosure Reports, MTCF was listed as having an asset value of over $1 million in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Asset values are reported in broad ranges with “Over $1,000,000” being the highest category. Therefore, it is possible that the asset value of MTCF is much larger than $1,000,000.

The McCaskills make millions from their government subsidized properties each year.

EXCLUSIVE: Sen. McCaskill’s Husband’s Businesses Benefitted From $20 Million in Stimulus Funds

    Posted on October 25, 2012

An analysis of public records by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) has found more than $20 million in federal stimulus funds benefitting real estate projects financially tied to Joseph Shepard, husband of Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill.

Earlier this month, the Associated Press published an analysis, stating, “businesses affiliated with the husband of Senator Claire McCaskill have received almost $40 million in federal subsidies for low-income housing developments during her first five years in office…

The NLPC analysis released today showed more than $20 million in financial benefits from the federal stimulus law to real estate projects associated with McCaskill’s husband, with all of the $20 million benefitting projects different than those identified by the Associated Press story.

Missouri Tax Credit Fund: More Than $1 Million in Annual Income For the McCaskill Household in 2009, 2010 and 2012

In 2008, prior to the stimulus law, officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, passed in 2009, MTCF was listed by McCaskill as having an asset value of “$500,000 to $1,000,000.”

The lucrative nature of this asset is underscored by McCaskill’s Financial Disclosure Reports showing “over $1,000,000” in income for each of the years 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Since this category is the highest listed in the Senate Financial Disclosure Reports, it is likely that the annual income from MTCF to Senator McCaskill’s husband’s business was higher than $1,000,000 in each of those years.

The current standard annual salary for a U.S. Senator is $174,000.

Follow the Money: How Stimulus Funds Came to Benefit McCaskill Household Income

There is no question that Senator McCaskill was deeply involved in the policies and politics of the stimulus bill signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The public record shows Senator McCaskill speaking in favor of it on the Senate floor, supporting amendments, voting for it, and issuing press statements about it.

One such McCaskill press statement issued April 20, 2009 proved very prophetic at least for one Missouri family:
U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill wants Missourians to know about all the ways the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will help put a little extra cash in their pockets over the coming months and during next year’s tax season.
Buried in the massive legislation were several provisions designed to finance low-income housing. The first program, called the Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP), disbursed funds in the forms of grants or loans for capital investment to state-run entities to promote housing projects, especially those that were “shovel-ready.”

The second program, known as the Tax Credit Replacement Program (TCR) allowed state entities to exchange unused housing credits for a federal grant whose proceeds then would be available for construction or rehabilitation of qualified low-income housing.

NLPC’s chart below shows the stimulus funding for each of the two programs by project.

    ***
The Missouri recipient of these stimulus funds was the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC).

The Executive Director of MHDC was a former developer, Pete Ramsel. He resigned without citing a reason following the awarding of most the Missouri funds.

Mr. Ramsel was a former business partner of Senator McCaskill’s husband, Joseph Shepard, according to a February 4, 2010 article in the Columbia Daily Tribune.

NLPC discovered the connection between Mr. Shepard’s Missouri Tax Credit Fund and six real estate projects which received more than $20 million in federal stimulus funds by examining public records from the Missouri Housing Development Commission, the web site maintained by the federal government for stimulus fund information and the Missouri web page which archives Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financial statements.

The UCC filings document the key role played by Mr. Shepard’s Missouri Tax Credit Fund (MTCF) in financing the six projects.

The UCC filings show the MCTF filing as a secured party for financing involving each of the six real estate projects. Each project is indicated as a recipient of stimulus funds on both MHDC and federal lists.

Additional UCC filings show MTCF then using its position as a secured party to obtain bank financing. Both types of UCC filings tie MTCF to the financing of the projects.
