(Natural News) The transgenic “food” industry in the United States faces a major blow as Mexico readies to enact a new law banning all United States imports of genetically modified (GMO) corn.
Since most U.S. corn is genetically engineered, the American farmers who grow it will no longer have Mexico as a customer – which could decimate their businesses, in some cases.
Describing the situation as “the most catastrophic thing to happen to corn farmers,” Fox Business ran a segment on the move, which could force American corn farmers to switch to non-GMO or organic corn crops instead – which would be good for everyone.
Up until now, Mexico was the largest buyer of American corn. Our neighbors to the south have purchased more than $10 billion worth of corn, nearly all of which is patented and owned by biotechnology companies.
One GMO corn farmer by the name of Elizabeth Hinkel of Hinkel Farms told the media that it will take a lot of work for her and other farmers to convert to non-GMO corn.
“It would be a huge investment if we had to go back to growing conventional,” she complained. “And on top of that, our yields would be decreased.” (Related: In 2013, Mexico halted all plantings of GMO corn on its own soil.)
Not only that, but corn prices in the U.S. will plummet after Mexico stops importing the country’s GMO corn crops, resulting in massive losses for GMO corn farmers.
USDA blasts Mexico for protecting its citizens against toxic GMO corn; declares decision “not grounded in science”

To be fair, American farmers should have seen the writing on the wall. There are few countries besides the U.S. that welcome GMOs in any way, shape, or form as they recognize the dangers inherent to consuming them.
America has become a nation of obese, chronically ill, and often mentally deranged people, in large part due to pharmaceutical addiction and GMO consumption. Other countries, including Mexico, want nothing to do with this toxic lifestyle.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is blasting Mexico for this decision, calling it “not grounded in science.” The reality, though, is that it is not grounded in profits for large food and chemical corporations, which stand to lose big time by other countries rejecting GMOs.
American farmers who grow toxic GMO crops are planning to march on Capitol Hill to demand that lawmakers take action to punish Mexico for trying to protect its citizens against GMO poisons. Will they succeed in this endeavor?
Mexico, meanwhile, has implemented a 50 percent tariff on all corn leaving its country. It sure seems like Mexico is the place to be these days if clean food, self-sufficiency, and sovereignty are values you cherish.
“Notice the timing of this,” pointed out a commenter. “Right after a meeting with Obama’s puppet (Biden), Canada, and Mexico. There is an operation going on under the radar, CO2 pipelines in the heartland (5 or 6) of central states.”
“Because of food shortages across the globe, not just here, and since the pipeline issue is a concept derived from political motivation, the World Economic Forum, Obama’s socio-communist administration, and various acronym support agencies are all pretending the corn will stay here for ethanol when the plan is to break ‘We the American Citizen.'”
Another wrote that corn is a “staple of life” in Mexico, so of course the country wants only clean, GMO-free corn.
“They make flat cornbread out of it, called tortillas, and make all kinds of tacos with it, including breakfast tacos,” this person wrote.
