Michigan CBP Officers Arrest Aggravated Felon
(Thursday, April 08, 2010)
Port Huron, Mich. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Blue Water Bridge arrested 10 travelers on various charges over the weekend including an aggravated felon who was previously imprisoned and deported for heroin distribution.
On April 1, at approximately 7:30 p.m. a 34-year-old Mexican citizen, Delfino Gomez-Rangel, was refused entry to Canada and returned to the United States. CBP officers conducted an inspection to determine his status and discovered that he was an illegal alien with a lengthy criminal history in the United States. The subject is considered an aggravated felon for his multiple drug convictions and a previous deportation from the United States for heroin distribution.
Delfino Gomez-Rangel was arrested by CBP officers and arraigned in the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan. Gomez-Rangel was turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service.
