Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."

The Terrorists father notified authority's he was planning something bad on the flight and no one checked up
it doesnt matter if he carried the explosives on the flight by checked baggage or he wore it through the security system
or if someone else planted it on the plane ...
a citizen not security took the terrorist down

She is really poor at trying to convince any American that everything is just wonderful, while she is loosening every law.
If it weren't for the passengers' quick action, this plane might have fallen out of the sky. These were normal people, not the mighty federal government (whose responsibility it is to keep us safe) and she had some nerve claiming that everything is just hunky-dory. Meanwhile, she has done here best to water down 287(g) and other programs where trained local law enforcement officers are not allowed to help the feds do their jobs, and they need all the help they can get.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

A petition should be started calling for her immediate resignation. This woman has demonstrated over and over again that she is completely incompetent to act as the Nations second highest Law Enforcement Official.

What system is she talking about? The terorist was on a watchlist, strapped explosives to his underpants area, boarded a plane, proceded to ignite the explosives, and was thwarted by other passengers. It was the brave passengers who should be recognized, not worthless Janet and her Homeland Security which failed in all aspects to prevent another terrorist act..

It's just.............. ahhhhhhhhhh well. How do you put it into words? They don't care about stopping them from coming in overseas. They want to control our everyday lives with a Police State. And for the most part, it's here! Ask yourself, what would happen if you were to leave your house in a rush, and forget your wallet or purse. Or whateve you carry your Drivers License in. And then get stopped by the police.
It's a lot different from when I was a teenager 30+ years ago. And I'm gussing for folks who can go back further it was even more than that.
Nope Homeland Security is there to war on our liberty, not to protect the American People.

WOW! Not one positive or supportive comment about napster or oblabbler at the link. This one says it all:
as an Arizonan, I was thankful to get Napolitano out of our state. As an American, I shuddered at the incompetence I knew she would show. How can she and her department take credit for this ?!?!
