NEW YORK – Look at what the education “experts” behind Common Core have wrought.

The New York Daily News reports that kindergarteners are feeling overwhelmed by Common Core-aligned tests that require them to fill in test bubbles even before the 4- and 5-year-olds know how to hold a pencil properly.
“They don’t know letters, and you have answers that say A, B, C or D and you’re asking them to bubble in … they break down, they cry,” one Bronx kindergartner teacher told the Daily News.
The youngsters also don’t understand they’re not supposed to help each other while taking the tests.
“Sharing is not caring anymore; developmentally, it’s not the right thing to do,” a Queens teacher said. “They’re scared. They just don’t understand you’re supposed to bubble in next to the answer.”
The new Common Core math standards aren’t the sole reason for the kindergarten testing craze.
“The state’s teacher ratings, which are in their first year, require each city school to administer some tests,” the Daily News reports.
An example of the test, which evaluates the children’s knowledge of numbers, shapes and order, can be viewed at NYDailyNews.com.
Americans in other Common Core-aligned states can expect to hear similar stories from their schools when the new standards take full effect in the 2014-15 school year.
