It Only Took This Army Vet 3 Minutes To Destroy Obama’s Gun Control Plan

By Ronak Kallianpur on December 12, 2013

If there has ever been a speech that everyone needs to see regarding Obama’s plan to take our guns. This is the one!
In this clip we see an army vet that serves as a police officer speak to the motion to repeal the ‘Safe’ act at the Dutchess County Legislature New York State.
His name is Aaron Weiss and he has quite a bit say. At some points he even tears up. It isn’t until he speaks on his friend’s passing away in war that his emotions get the best of him.
We love what this young man has to say to the administration and their plans for disarming our citizens!

MSNBC Shocked: Nearly 90% of Americans Support Constitutional Carry

    Dean Garrison 5 mins ago

For those who wonder why MSNBC has lost nearly half of its viewers, this might serve as yet another example. A poll, hosted on MSNBC.com, asked a simple question:

Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public?
People were given three options for answering and, with 90,000+ votes cast, here are the current numbers (as of July 6, 2014):

This result does not fit in with the network's leftist narrative or agenda. To listen to MSNBC you would think that 90% of Americans are begging to turn in their guns so that they can receive the proper state protection.
I would not look for these poll results to be featured on any network shows in the near future. Remember, this is the same network that defended Rhode Island State Senator Josh Miller after he told a gun rights activist to, "Go F*ck Yourself."
The truth is that American people are listening to the reports of violence and they are taking notes. But they simply do not agree with the proposed solutions given by the government or main stream media. They do not trust either source and it is beginning to show in both polls and media ratings.
The solution is to arm and protect yourself. People are not quite as stupid as MSNBC, et al, tend to assume. When we see stories of mass shootings and violence our first instinct is not to turn in all of our guns.
This is America and we believe in the right to protect ourselves.
We all know that bad guys are going to find guns, swords, bombs or whatever it takes to kill innocent people. No policy of gun confiscation will change that. We certainly can't trust the police to defend us. In a hostile situation, there is no time to call 911. And let's not forget that, in some cases, the cops are the bad guys.

The truth is, contrary to reports from Bloomberg and Obama, even the left is very much in support of the Second Amendment. It's only the very vocal extremist left that says otherwise.
They pretend to speak for all of America when they do not even represent the majority will of their own party.
Somehow the argument of, "There are bad guys everywhere. You must turn in your guns so we can protect you…" doesn't yet wash with Americans. The brainwash is seemingly incomplete.
People are beginning to make the connection and see the media for what it is. Every media outlet has an agenda. Some just refuse to admit it.
I'd be very surprised if MSNBC doesn't rip down this poll at some point.
For now, however, this is the most truth to come from MSNBC in a long time.

We shouldn't just allow them to be carried we should "require" them to be carried after proper training of course..!!!!

Bloomberg's Gun Control Group to Survey Midterm Candidates

    Kara Jones | Jul 07, 2014

Today, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun “safety” organization, Everytown, will begin surveying all federal candidates in the upcoming midterm election.

The questionnaire results will determine which candidates Everytown will back in the November midterms based on how they vote on gun-related issues.

This 10-part survey will ask Senate and House candidates and incumbents alike to give a public stance on issues such as toughening current gun-trafficking statutes, regulating certain ammunition magazines, and expanding background checks on buyers.

Everytown has been very vocal in its effort to rival the National Rifle Association (NRA). Earlier this year, Bloomberg pledged to spend $50 million to support candidates who will actively counter the NRA and support stricter gun laws:

[Bloomberg] pledged $50 million to his new group Everytown for Gun Safety, an umbrella organization for his two other gun control groups: Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. It aims to make the political climate more supportive of gun control.
    The Washington Post explains:
Bloomberg has promised to spend more than double the roughly $20 million the NRA spends annually on political campaigns. Still, NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it will be difficult for Everytown to counter the political network and clout that the NRA, with its 5 million dues-paying members, has built up over decades.
Based on how each congressional candidate responds, Everytown will use the answers to rally voters for or against them. The group will also bring to light any previous statements or past legislative votes the candidates have made regarding firearm limitation.

However, “Everytown For Gun Safety” does not aim to promote ”gun safety” as its title suggests, but rather to promote its own political agenda of limiting law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

Remember, this is the same organization that published misleading data last month claiming that an average of 1.37 school shootings have occurred every week since the 2012 tragedy in Newton, Connecticut.

Posting falsified statistics in order to evoke emotion is not the way to win credibility points with voters. Perhaps this survey will inform citizens of which candidates will support their constitutional rights.

States look to gun seizure law after mass killings

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — As state officials across the country grapple with how to prevent mass killings like the ones at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown and near the University of California, Santa Barbara, some are turning to a gun seizure law pioneered in Connecticut 15 years ago.

Connecticut's law allows judges to order guns temporarily seized after police present evidence that a person is a danger to themselves or others. A court hearing must be held within 14 days to determine whether to return the guns or authorize the state to hold them for up to a year.
The 1999 law, the first of its kind in the country, was in response to the 1998 killings of four managers at the Connecticut Lottery headquarters by a disgruntled employee with a history of psychiatric problems.

Indiana is the only other state that has such a law, passed in 2005 after an Indianapolis police officer was shot to death by a mentally ill man. California and New Jersey lawmakers are now considering similar statutes, both proposed in the wake of the killings of six people and wounding of 13 others near the University of California, Santa Barbara by a mentally ill man who had posted threatening videos on YouTube.
Michael Lawlor, Connecticut's undersecretary for criminal justice planning and policy, believes the state's gun seizure law could have prevented the killings of 20 first-graders and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012, if police had been made aware that gunman Adam Lanza had mental health problems and access to his mother's legally owned guns.

"That's the kind of situation where you see the red flags and the warning signs are there, you do something about it," Lawlor said. "In many shootings around the country, after the fact it's clear that the warning signs were there."

Gun rights advocates oppose gun seizure laws, saying they allow police to take people's firearms based only on allegations and before the gun owners can present their side of the story to a judge. They say they're concerned the laws violate constitutional rights.

"The government taking things away from people is never a good thing," said Rich Burgess, president of the gun rights group Connecticut Carry. "They come take your stuff and give you 14 days for a hearing. Would anybody else be OK if they just came and took your car and gave you 14 days for a hearing?"

Rachel Baird, a Connecticut lawyer who has represented many gun owners, said one of the biggest problems with the state's law is that police are abusing it. She said she has had eight clients whose guns were seized by police who obtained the required warrants after taking possession of the guns.

"It's stretched and abused, and since it's firearms, the courts go along with it," Baird said of the law.

But backers of such laws say they can prevent shootings by getting guns out of the hands of mentally disturbed people.

"You want to make sure that when people are in crisis ... there is a way to prevent them to get access to firearms," said Josh Horwitz, executive director of the nonprofit Education Fund to Stop Gun Violence in Washington, D.C.

Connecticut authorities report a large increase in the use of gun seizure warrants involving people deemed dangerous by police over the past several years. Officials aren't exactly sure what caused the increase but believe it's related to numerous highly publicized mass shootings in recent years.

Police statewide filed an estimated 183 executed gun seizure warrants with court clerks last year, more than twice the number filed in 2010, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch data. Last year's total also was nearly nine times higher than the annual average in the first five years of the gun seizure law.

Connecticut police have seized more than 2,000 guns using the warrants, according to the most recent estimate by state officials, in 2009.
Police in South Windsor, about 12 miles northeast of Hartford, say the law was invaluable last year when they seized several guns from the home of a man accused of spray-painting graffiti referencing mass shootings in Newtown and Colorado on the outside of the town's high school.
"With all that we see in the news day after day, particular after Newtown, I think departments are more aware of what authority they have ... and they're using the tool (gun seizure warrants) more frequently than in the past," said South Windsor Police Chief Matthew Reed. "We always look at it from the other side. What if we don't seize the guns?"

Happy Independence Day! Draconian Bill Would Allow Police To Confiscate Guns Based On Accusation Alone http://bit.ly/1orel4g

A new and horrifying twist to the Obama legacy is a new bill introduced in California, that would make it legal for police to confiscate your guns on mere accusation and assumptions! Our 2nd Amendment is being thrown to the wolves, with this draconian gun control bill. The Bill is set to be voted on by the California legislature would allow police to confiscate a person’s firearms solely on the basis of an accusation made against the gun owner by a family member or a health professional. AB 1014, authored by Assembly members Das Williams and Nancy Skinner, would create ‘gun violence restraining orders’ that would allow police to proactively confiscate firearms and hold them for one year with no due process merely based on an accusation made by an immediate family member, a law enforcement officer or a health professional.

(N.Morgan) A new and horrifying twist to the Obama legacy is a new bill introduced in California, that would make it legal for police to confiscate your guns on mere accusation and assumptions!

This bill would allow a search warrant to be issued when the property or things to be seized are a firearm or firearms or ammunition that is in the custody or control of, or is owned or possessed by, a person who is the subject of a gun violence restraining order and who is presently known to have in his or her custody and control or possession, or to own a firearm or firearms or ammunition,” states the bill. The accusation against the individual has to meet the standard of evidence, “to believe that the subject of the petition poses a significant risk of personal injury to himself, herself, or another by having under his or her custody and control, owning, purchasing, possessing, or receiving a firearm,” states the bill, although the nature of this evidence is not properly defined.

The bill has drawn fiery criticism from gun rights advocates who see the legislation as an onerous assault on the Second Amendment. “If for example, person A goes to a judge and files a complaint about person B, person B can have his/her guns and gun rights taken away without any idea why or even have the chance to plead their case. Only after law enforcement searched person B, their family, friends, place of work, and anywhere else police might have thought person B hid guns would that person have the right to defend themselves. Guilty until proven innocent,” writes Yehuda Remer. “This bill goes too far,” Sean Doherty of California Assn. of Federal Firearms Licensees told a Senate panel. “AB 1014 shreds the right of privacy and right of property that has been jurisprudence for decades.” Even David Warren, of Taxpayers for Improving Public Safety (a group that normally supports gun control legislation), spoke out against the bill, stating that it had “significant constitutional deficiencies” and would not be enforceable.

Having been passed by the California Senate Public Safety Committee, the bill now heads to the legislature for a full vote.

Missouri Amendment: Gun Ownership an 'Unalienable Right' State Must 'Uphold'

by AWR Hawkins 6 Jul 2014 41 post a comment
In August Missourians will vote on Amendment 5, an amendment to the state constitution which explicitly declares private gun ownership an "unalienable right" and obligates the state government to "uphold" it.

The language of Amendment 5 says "that the right to keep and bear arms is an unalienable right and that the state government is obligated to uphold that right."
According to The Joplin Globe, the amendment was sponsored by state senator Kurt Schaefer (R-Columbia). It passed the state senate "by a 23-to-8 vote, and the state [house] by a 122-to-31 vote."
In addition to adding a new protection for the "right to bear arms," Amendment 5 safeguards ammunition and "accessories typical to the normal function of such arms."
Saint Louis attorney Chuck Hatfield "is helping lead opposition to Schaefer's amendment." Hatfield does not like that Amendment 5 calls for any future gun laws to be weighed on the basis of "strict scrutiny"--the "most rigorous... [type] of judicial review."
Hatfield worries that a "strict scrutiny analysis" could embolden "defense attorneys and public defenders" to challenge current gun control laws in Missouri.
