Seven people have been killed and at least 34 others wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday afternoon, police said.

Most recently, a 16-year-old boy was shot to death Sunday evening in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

David Moreno was standing outside about 7:45 p.m. in the 2800 block of South Keeler when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Moreno, of the 2700 block of South Lawndale, was shot in the upper body and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:28 p.m., authorities said. Police said he was 15.

A police source said the teen was a documented gang member.

At 9:13 a.m. Sunday, an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 8100 block of South Manistee found the man unresponsive on the sidewalk, police said. He had been shot in the torso and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm that fatality.

Earlier Sunday morning, two men were killed and a woman was hurt in a shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The three were in a dark car heading southbound about 2:35 a.m. in the 500 block of North Avers when shots were fired from the sidewalk, police said.

The driver, 32-year-old Darron Thomas, and the front-seat passenger, 35-year-old Kenneth J. Wallace, were both shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Wallace lived in the 4800 block of West Washington, while Thomas lived in the 3300 block of West 61st.
A 26-year-old woman in the backseat suffered a graze wound to the right ankle and was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where her condition stabilized, police said.

Late Saturday, a man was shot dead and another wounded in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

About 10:15 p.m., the men, both 21 years old, were walking in the 1100 block of East 73rd Street when another male exited a black car nearby and opened fire, police said.

Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. One of the men, identified as Joshua Moore, of the 6400 block of South Ellis, was shot multiple times in the chest and pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The other man was shot in the left leg. His condition wasn’t known.

About 12:50 a.m. Saturday, a man was fatally shot in a gang-related attack in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 32-year-old was walking with another person in the 4900 block of West Hubbard when shots rang out and he was hit in the abdomen and right shoulder, police said. He was dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities had not released his name as of Sunday night.

A 17-year-old boy died in the weekend’s first homicide about 6:45 p.m. Friday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Donell Morrison was shot in the back in the 1200 block of South Kolin, authorities said.

Morrison, of the 1300 block of South Kostner, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:04 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

The most recent nonfatal shooting left a man critically wounded early Monday in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 21-year-old man walked into Mercy Hospital about 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and told investigators he had been shot at 47th and Drexel, police said.

He was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

At least 31 other people suffered gunshot wounds in attacks across the city since 3 p.m. Friday.
