File this one in the category of wishful thinking, especially for those with tickets to this year's Super Bowl in New Jersey. One long-term weather forecast predicts that there will be "NO CHANCE OF SNOW" on Feb. 2 in East Rutherford.

Even better for those willing to partake in the pregame festivities and sit outside for hours in the winter, temperatures during the day are projected to reach into the 50's.

The Super Bowl forecast comes from "Weather 2020," which is an app based on something called the Lezak's Recurring Cycle (LCR). It was developed by Gary Lezak, a weatherman in Kansas City.

Believe what you want. I normally don’t take the weather forecast seriously for tomorrow, nevertheless three or four weeks in advance. But Lezak claims to be able to predict the weather 12 weeks ahead of time. Weatherpeople, what a gig.

But 50's? That does sound kind of nice. Average temperature for Feb. 2 are a high of 39 degrees and a low of 20 degrees, according to Weather.com.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. If this weather prediction is correct, it could help sway NFL commission Roger Goodell into looking at holding more Super Bowls in cold-weather climates. Right now, Goodell appears undecided on whether this is a one-time thing.

The Commissioner is crossing his fingers that no major snowstorm interrupts the week of activities in New Jersey and New York.

Temperatures in the 50's and no snow would certainly fall into that category.

But if a few flurries found their way into the weather mix? Goodell's fine with that.
