TSA finds piles of weapons, including loaded handguns, in passengers’ carry-ons

Ten loaded handguns - some with rounds in their chambers and ready to fire - brass knuckles and stun guns were discovered in passengers’ carry-on luggage at TSA checkpoints in airports around the country the week of Oct. 3.

The agency said on Oct. 7 it had discovered .22, .45, .32, .380 and 9 mm caliber handguns at airport security checkpoints in Pittsburgh , Portland, Seattle, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Daytona Beach, Seattle, Denver and New Orleans during the week. It said the most common excuse the weapons owners gave was[b] “I forgot it was in there.â€
