    Feel Secure in Your Preparations
With the triple-sealed, airtight mylar pouches and solid exterior packaging, these seeds have up to a 5 year shelf-life!

Emergencies, disasters, and personal and financial crises are all problems we've either encountered or are at least familiar with. Things like earthquakes, the economy, and illnesses are splashed across the front pages of newspapers and talked about at length on the news. None of these things are pleasant to think about, and it's scary, knowing that these sorts of problems could become our problems, and there isn't much we can do to stop them. However, even though we can't always control what happens to us, we are always in control of the preparations we make so our crises don't turn into tragedies. That’s why we’ve put together our Ready Garden.

The Ready Garden is meant to be a failsafe in a disaster or economic crisis. It's for those times when food is scarce or money is tight, or if you just want to learn how to be more self-reliant and live more organically. The Ready Garden contains a full acre’s worth of open-pollinated, non-GMO heirloom seeds that can be grown naturally. Open-pollination means that these seeds, unlike the hybrid seeds that most retailers sell, aren’t sterile—you can harvest seeds from your crops and use them over and over again. So you aren’t just buying enough heirloom seeds to fill an acre for one year—you’re buying a garden that will last beyond your lifetime.

And this isn't just a garden of very basic, bland foods. To prevent boredom and promote a balanced diet, our Ready Garden contains 21 different types of seeds, including tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, watermelon, pumpkins, jalapeños, and many others. These seeds even come in different varieties; for example, we included a sweet pepper, which is good for salads and stir frying, and a hot pepper, which is a great seasoner, and goes well in salsa. In the end, you'll have a whole garden full of produce that can be used in thousands of different recipes!

Every one of these seeds has been dried carefully and placed in triple-sealed Mylar pouches so they will retain their nutrients and ability to produce food, but so they will also last many years in storage. The Ready Garden has almost 25,000 seeds, so you will have more than enough seeds to make some mistakes but ultimately produce a large harvest. This full acre of food can be used to feed your family, generate extra income, trade for other goods, can and store for winter, and harvest more seeds from so you can do it all again the next year!

Due to its special packaging, the Ready Garden's heirloom seeds can last up to 5 years (although we have had customers tell us that they've used these seeds after 10 years of storage, and everything grew very well!), so all you have to do is purchase them once and then store the seeds away for the day when you really need them. And each of these Mylar pouches is snugly tucked into our food-grade 1-gallon plastic container for easy access and easy storage. It has a lid that, once you snap it on, it's not going anywhere—unless you tear the tab. In that case, the lid has a groove where it bends and gives you easy access to all your seeds.

Other companies sell emergency seeds that claim to have a long shelf-life but they only wrap their seeds in one layer of Mylar, or they say they have properly dried their seeds yet don't have the proper levels of moisture to keep the seeds alive. We make sure you know exactly what you're getting when you buy our product by putting a label with the packaging date and location, germination rate, weight, and purity of the seeds provided right on the triple-layered Mylar pouch. Each of these pouches can also be resealed with the sturdy zip-lock top, so it will be easy to re-store harvested seeds in these already-labeled pouches!

If you live in an inhospitable climate, or are worried about short season climates, you don't need to be. Many of these seed varieties were chosen in part because of their recommendation for their ability to adapt to different regions. So while the growth rate of the produce will vary, you will be able to provide food for you family in almost any climate. And since these seeds were also chosen because of their high germination rate, growing your garden will be even easier than you think. Finally, we chose these seeds because they have high nutrition density—this means that eating a variety of these seeds can keep you healthy and give you the vital nutrients you need every day.

    Emergency Preparedness Supplies & More!

At The Ready Store our goal is to offer the finest emergency preparedness and survival supplies available anywhere. Our purchasing power allows us to provide great products at the best prices. But if you really want to be prepared you need great information to go along with the emergency supplies. Thats why we introduced the survival and emergency preparedness blog. If you have questions about anything don't hesitate to contact us. Below are some of the emergency supplies we specialize in.

    Food Storage

One of the foundations of a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan is a food storage supply. Ideally you would have enough food storage for you and your family to shelter in place for at least several months. If you have to leave home you'll want to have at least a 72 hour survival kit. Freeze dried foods and mixes provide the longest shelf life while preserving the taste and nutrition of your food storage. A critical part of your food storage plan is water storage and filters.

    MRE's & Military Meals

MRE's (Military Meals Ready to Eat) are portable rations that are the same or very similar to the meals used by US Military personnel. An MRE can be stored safely for several years and provide both emergency food and water rations when needed.

    Freeze Dried Food

Since freeze dried food can last for as long as 30 years and still maintain most of its nutritional value (along with its light weight), its often used as the building block for a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan. We carry Saratoga Farms and Mountain House freeze dried food which is available in many different kits and sizes from pouches to #10 cans.

Thank you for helping America get ready!

Nice list, I get excited when I get seed and plant catalogs...Some women it's jewelry, clothes and shoes, me its plants and seeds and outdoor equipment...I drool over larger home tractors at local tractor supply stores here and imagine all the things we could till, and grow with one of those (we do have a rototiller, but I cannot physically control the beast).
