    Ron Pauls Irresistible Budget Plan

    By Bruce Fein
    Constitutional Lawyer

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s proposed FY 2013 budget, which was released on Monday, slashes federal government extravagance by more than $1 trillion. The budget honors the vision of limited government and individual liberty enshrined by the Founding Fathers in the United States Constitution. As Thomas Jefferson lectured in his First Inaugural Address: “Still one thing more, fellow-citizens — a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities.”All of Ron Paul’s rivals have abandoned the robust and virile American Republic created in 1776 for a bloated, arrogant and ponderous empire indistinguishable from the British version overthrown by General George Washington and the Minutemen at Lexington and Concord more than two centuries ago.

Candidate Paul would freeze Department of Defense spending at approximately $500 billion annually, a sum vastly more than the military spending of any other nation. He would terminate the $200 billion squandered in objectless wars or the projection of military force abroad in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Uganda, Somalia and against any suspected adherent of al Qaida anywhere on the planet.

These absurd military expenditures escalate like a climbing staircase because they manufacture new enemies by funding the killing of innocent civilians and collaboration with rulers popularly execrated in their own countries for their corruption, bigotry and tyranny. Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who’s propped up by $120 billion in annual United States military spending, is exemplary. He stole the last election with phantom votes. His cronies looted the Kabul Bank of hundreds of millions with impunity. Opium production is skyrocketing. Females remain subjugated. Due process is an alien concept, while torture is routine. Toxic tribal and ethnic divisions persist.

The United States is aiding and abetting Karzai’s crimes, which is planting the seeds of blowback and additional military spending.Empire proponents like Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann preposterously argue that the United States must be engaged in perpetual, planet-wide war featuring annual national security spending exceeding $1 trillion because Muslim radicals are infuriated by the freedoms that flourish here. Romney even insists the DOD budget is shortchanged and needs billions of dollars more in padding.

The Paul budget would freeze spending by the State Department at a modest $7.9 billion. And tens of billions uselessly sprayed on foreign countries every year in vain hopes of winning their allegiance to United States interests over their own national interests would be ended. Think of the billions thrown at Pakistan while it undermines the United States war effort in Afghanistan. On the domestic front, the Ron Paul budget is refreshingly bold. The Department of Energy would be abolished, yielding an annual savings of $34 billion. The Department of Commerce would be axed, netting an additional annual savings of $10 billion. The Department of Education would die, lowering annual federal government spending by more than $70 billion. The Department of Housing and Urban Development would be jettisoned, saving American taxpayers more than $46 billion per year. And the Department of Interior would be ended, which would cut annual federal spending by an additional $12 billion

None of these five departments plausibly advances a legitimate constitutional objective of the federal government. The Department of Energy obstructs a rational energy market by skewing incentives to favor so-called “green” technologies. The department’s Solyndra debacle is emblematic. The Department of Commerce does nothing the private sector can’t do with greater efficiency. The Department of Education has presided over a frightening decline in student achievement as its spending has ballooned. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has given the nation less net housing and development than it would have had without federal government meddling. The demolition of the federally funded Pruitt-Igoe public housing project symbolizes HUD’s staggering economic waste. The Department of Interior is largely engaged in land management that should be left to the private sector. It was implicated in the infamous Teapot Dome bribery scandal that occasioned the conviction of Interior Secretary Albert Fall. Its assets should be sold at fair market value. The federal government shouldn’t be the largest landlord in many Western states.

The Ron Paul budget preserves safety net programs for the truly needy or handicapped. All current Social Security benefit promises would be honored, but youth would be afforded an opportunity to opt out of the system and assume responsibility for creating “rainy day” funds tailored to their unique circumstances. To encourage private savings, the Paul budget would end taxation of personal savings accounts. Private enterprise would be equally boosted by slashing the corporate tax rate to 15%.

Ron Paul’s budget is lean, muscular and achievable without pinching the American people. It aims to reduce federal expenditures to 15.5% of GNP — a figure that was obtained in the early 1950s without engendering economic misery.

In sum, Ron Paul is the sole 2012 presidential candidate who doesn’t sound an uncertain trumpet when it comes to balancing the budget and shrinking the federal Leviathan. All the others hedge their promises with weasel words or abstractions.

If you are anxious about your pocketbook and the solvency of the nation, the Ron Paul budget should be irresistible.

Bruce Fein is Senior Policy Advisor to the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.

Sarah Palin Praises Ron Pauls Foreign Policy

Video: Sarah Palin: Hand it to Ron Paul on Libya
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... d1pcD3H8iA

    Oct 20, 2011

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin interviewed on Hannity's show about Gadaffi's death and had something nice to say about Ron Paul's foreign policy views related to Libya.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said the following on Sean Hannitys FOX News program yesterday:

Youve got to give it to Ron Paul. Whether you agree with everything he says or not, at least he is one there in Congress trying to make our President stick to the law and understand that Congress does have a role to play in these foreign policy decisions that are made and Ron Paul, I think hit the nail on the head, when he came out and said Obama had better be careful when he interjects himself and our country in other nations business.

Ex-CIA agent argues corporate press have not sidelined Paul’s campaign, despite scientific studies confirming the fact

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Prison Planet.com
    Friday, October 21, 2011

In a rambling monologue, CNN’s Anderson Cooper desperately attempts to dismiss the accusation that CNN, and the mainstream media as a whole, are unfairly blacklisting Ron Paul’s presidential campaign, despite two scientific studies confirming that very fact.

During his 6 minute-plus rant, former CIA agent Cooper claimed the Paul campaign had lied to make money for the Congressman’s ‘Black This Out’ donation drive, by exaggerating the amount of time between when Paul was allowed to speak during this week’s CNN debate in Las Vegas, and then claiming it was a result of CNN censorship.

While it is indeed true that Paul did not go 40 minutes without speaking – a mistake for which whoever sent out the email within Paul’s campaign should be rightly chastised – the fact that Cooper devoted over 6 minutes to this not so shocking scandal just illustrates how desperate the establishment media is to hide their deliberate campaign to sideline Ron Paul – and CNN have been amongst the worst offenders second only to Fox News.

Indeed, it was CNN who discarded their own poll which showed 75% of respondents thought Ron Paul won the June New Hampshire debate, preferring instead to use a lesser known National Journal poll and then wrongly broadcasting Paul’s vote total as 0%, when in fact it was 33%.

It was CNN host Howard Kurtz who responded to guest Roger Simon’s summation on Ron Paul that “we’re gonna ignore him,â€

We Have Eaten Our Seed Corn

October 24, 2011 by Bob Livingston

There are few people who recognize that the debasement of the currency is caused by government printing presses and not one political dissent, save Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas).

We have eaten our seed corn. We are in the midst of a moral crisis which is purely and simply the result and consequence of a 100-year experiment in dishonest money. I speak of fiat, an amoral monster that has ravished our lives and our savings. We live in the final rot of a world fiat empire.

We measure gold with dishonest money; but gold is measuring a breakdown of morality, society and governments of fraud.

Debasement of the currency with exponential greed is pushing gold toward heaven. It is refuge from bad government, bad politicians, bad public media and a collapsed immoral legal system.

Government has seized on the breakdown of social order to further expand its propaganda and lies with all manner of stealing under various types of high-sounding hypocrisy. There are few people who recognize that the debasement of currency is caused by government printing presses and not one political dissent, save Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas).

Folks, the end is not near. It is here! Now is that day.

Contrary to everyone’s thinking, printing more and more paper money creates more scarcity. Everybody has less and less. Greed is the endgame of a paper money system and brings with it a moral breakdown with the collapse of the rule of law.

In short, paper money debasement destroys the soul of society. People cannot discern their true situation if there is no terra firma. They cannot calculate risk and the allocation of capital.

Top Tier: Ron Paul Raises Most In Iowa GOP Campaign Donations

Only Obama has more of Iowans money

    Steve Watson
    Infowars.com
    October 24, 2011

Presidential candidate Ron Paul has once again proved he is a front runner in the race for the GOP nomination, pulling in the most campaign donations from Iowa residents thus far.

The Congressman has received over $77,000 in contributions from Iowa so far this election cycle, a full $10,000 more than his closet rival Mitt Romney.

Indeed, the only candidate to have raised more in Iowa is the incumbent President, who has hit almost $200,000 in contributions.
Paul sits well ahead of the rest of the GOP field, having raised more than double the contributions of his next closet rival – Michelle Bachmann.

The figures were compiled from Federal Elections Commission data filed in mid-October. The figures represent contributions by individual Iowans totaling more than $200 through the end of September.

So far Iowans have donated a total of $454,000. Candidates have raised a combined $179 million nationally.

Ron Paul has made a concerted effort to make sure his message has impacted Iowa, taking out a $2 million ad buy and making several campaign stops in the state.

In August Paul came a close second in the Iowa GOP straw poll, capturing a commanding 44% of the over 6000 votes cast.
“This is more clear evidence of Dr. Paul’s large and growing base of support in the great state of Iowa,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Iowans who are sick and tired of the status quo message coming from the establishment candidates in this race are attracted to our campaign’s message of balanced budgets, limited constitutional government, and individual liberty, and we are working to capitalize on that momentum.” Benton added.

The 2012 Iowa Caucuses are scheduled to take place on January 3. The state is traditionally home to the first major electoral event of the nominating process, and thus serve as an important indicator.

On Sunday night the Congressman appeared on Meet The Press to talk about, among other things, his plan to cut big government spending by closing down departments such as the TSA, the Energy Department and the Commerce Department, as well as phasing out federal programs such as student loans:

“They’re a trillion dollars in debt; we don’t have any jobs for them; the quality of education has gone down–so it’s a failed program,” Paul said. “When you run up debt and you print money, costs go up in the areas that the government gets involved in education and medical care and housing…it doesn’t help people.”

Paul also explained that he has been disappointed with the “uselessness” of some of the arguments raised in the GOP debates, noting “The financial system of the world is about to collapse… We’re going to have to get a handle on this–we have to quit worrying about who’s mowing Mitt Romney’s yard,”

Ron Pauls Latest Moneybomb Nets More Than $2.75 Million

Black This Out theme inspires small contributors

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that its latest money bomb dubbed “Black This Out” netted more than $2.75 million in small donations.

The money bomb, or online fundraising event, began at midnight on October 19th and concluded today, October 24th, at noon.

Ron Paul supporters in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and U.S. military installations made a total of 44,527 donations, with 40,494 of these donations unique ones. The mean or average donation over this period was $61.92 while the median contribution was $25, demonstrating the broad support Dr. Paul gets from everyday concerned citizens.

“This moneybomb’s success conveys that Ron Paul’s supporters, whether independent or loosely organized, are poised to dig in deep and back him even during this government-imposed economic downturn,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“This block of voters supporting Dr. Paul is growing and is comprised of generous Americans having no plans to switch to another candidate,” said Mr. Benton.
