Ron Paul is a dangerous, DANGEROUS individual, and he must be stopped!

Submitted by sharkhearted on Tue, 03/27/2012 - 16:54 Ron Paul 2012

This subject line (and improvisational title to this forum) was emailed to me verbatim as a comment from a neocon, warmongering Santorum-worshipping friend of mine.
Little did she know as to how I would respond (and that it would become the subject of a forum here LOL) but I think it got her attention and caused her to back down because she never responded.

My response to her comment, below. Enjoy:

    Dangerous?

Yes. Dangerous…to the Republican and Democratic Establishments.

Dangerous…to all of the special interest empires such as the Military Industrial Complex, the Prison Industrial Complex, the Food, Agricultural & Chemical Complex, Medical & Entitlement Complex, the Financial Complex, Big Labor, Big Pharma, etc.

Dangerous…to things like Socialism, Fascism, Corporatism, the NDAA, the PATRIOT Act, the new HR 347 Act that makes free speech a felony, the UN Gun Control measures, Agenda 21, etc.

Dangerous…to unconstitutional government constructs, such as the Departments of Education, Commerce, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and that little 100-year old ponzi scheme called the Federal Reserve.

He is so very dangerous…that he has never accepted a penny from lobbyists…and lobbyists routinely ignore him because, as Jack Abramoff says “they know he can’t be bought.”

He is so very, VERY dangerous…that he wants to stop wasting billions of taxpayer money in foreign countries, bring the troops home to defend THIS country, and so very very dangerous...that he is the overwhelming choice of the troops, where they donate to his campaign more than ALL the other candidates combined, including Obama.

Yeah, a 76-year old OB-GYN who has delivered over 4,000 babies, who has written many books on dangerous things like liberty, life and private property and defending the constitution, been married and faithful to the same woman for 55 years, and who has never ever had to change his position on anything while in Congress because he had it all right the first time…

    Yeah he’s dangerous all right!

GOP leader claims: Romney-Santorum-Gingrich unite to stop Ron Paul

by Doug Wead on March 27, 2012

    Doug Wead

Well, well, conspiracies do exist after all. Thanks to the proliferation of cell
phones you will hear Alex Hayes, director of mainstream Republicans of Washington State, making the claim that the Romney-Santorum-Gingrich campaigns have united behind a common slate of candidates in Washington State to block the Ron Paul machine from winning the delegates. The apparent move on the part of the Romney-Santorum-Gingrich campaigns is to block citizens favoring Ron Paul from taking over the Washington State delegation to Tampa.

Is this true? I am seeking to find out.

The good news for Ron Paul people is this, the Ron Paul grassroots campaign is indeed reshaping the Republican Party. It may very well control the delegations in numerous caucus states which are now incorrectly portrayed by the media to be favoring other candidates. In some cases, the only way it can be stopped is for all three campaigns to coordinate to prevent a takeover.

Contrary to the reports in the national media, the Ron Paul campaign will have far more delegates to Tampa than is now thought, most of them at the expense of Governor Romney but also some at the expense of Senator Santorum.

States such as Missouri, where Senator Santorum won a meaningless beauty contest, will see a sizeable Ron Paul representation, as will Minnesota, Maine, Colorado, Nevada and Iowa. In Nevada, on the first ballot, the delegates, even if Ron Paul supporters, must vote for candidates proportionately as they finished in the Nevada Statewide beauty contest. But they can vote their conscience on the second ballot.

In many other states, the delegations are Ron Paul delegates who are free to vote as they wish. And many delegates now being chosen in states where other candidates won the primaries are actually Ron Paul supporters who will also be free if there is no first ballot victory for Governor Romney.

On the other hand, if Mr. Hayes is exaggerating or not telling the truth, if the Romney-Santorum-Gingrich campaigns have not agreed on a common slate, then you are getting a look at how political power brokers play backroom games to disenfranchise the majority of their own party. You are seeing how people in power, cling to the little bit of power they have and are willing to lie or cheat to keep it.

Mr. Hayes calls the large Ron Paul groups as “savage.” Listen to this little meeting and decide for yourself just who is the savage?

See below, media sees Romney-Paul alliance but the truth on the ground is very different as Romney-Santorum-Gingrich campaigns team up to try to prevent the state convention takeovers by grassroots Ron Paul supporters.

    This update came soon after:

IN THE END WE DO QUITE WELL!

FYI about this Alex Hayes video. The following came from the original posted video Securing Nomination 4 Mitt by Tricking Santorum and Newt supporters in Tacoma WA 3-24-2012 - YouTube

    It had the following comment.

“This was my district (2nd). I actually got to count votes! We ended up sending 15 Paul, 15 Santorum, and 1 Romney. The Romney people were pissed! I’m not sure how the alternates worked out, but it was either 15 Paul, 16 Santorum, or vice versa. My wife and I are both alternates. I was so upset by the “Unity Slate” people and their disgusting bias that I used part of my speech to express how appalled I was at their behavior. They were very rude anytime a speech maker mentioned Ron Paul, and their “savagery” caused them to yell “time” and interupt well before the allotted time had run out. The Ron Paul people were all very civilized, in my humble opinion.” - Brandon Clarke.

AND THIS AFTERNOON, THIS FASCINATING REPORT FROM HEIDE

This happened at my Caucus in Shoreline. The King County Chairman herself handed out what looked like official ballots only they were pink. I went up and asked her what they were and she said, “these are the delegates that the GOP supports.” (everyone one of them were Romney delegates) I said, “I’m new at this but isn’t this a little baised? ” She said rudley, “you don’t know what you are talking about, sit down” I then proceeded to let others know that this was strictly a Romney slate and it is not an Official caucus form and she got really mad and talked over me with the microphone. Sadly, Romney took 12 out of 22 the first round and all of the sheep Sant/Gritch people fell for it hook line and sinker. They followed the slates that the GOP chair told them to and in the end Romney had 19. Sant 2 Newt 1. Worked like a charm for them. Shady and unethical. They also filled the alternates with everyone who had been eliminated in the first round. This cannot be legal. I think the King co Chair women took advantage of people not understanding how a caucus is to be ran.

Ron Paul: My Campaign is 'Doing Quite Well'

Submitted by Reason Foundation on Mar 27, 2012
    By Brian Doherty

Ron Paul, presidential candidate, still in the news. Some of the latest items of interest:

*Paul hopes for good, expects bad, from the Supreme Court as it judges the constitutionality of ObamaCare this week, as Huffington Post reports:
Paul said on Bloomberg Television that he believed the court would not overturn the law.

“I suspect they're going to rule it constitutional, but that is a big guess out of thin air,” he said according to The Hill, explaining, “this Supreme Court is slightly better than in the past, [but] they haven't done a real good job in defending the free market and the original intent of the Interstate Commerce Clause.”....

Paul said that if the Supreme Court were to support the law, it would "be a real tragedy."
*Paul pushes back against Piers Morgan when he asks him why he's still in the race:
In an interview on CNN, host Piers Morgan asked the Texas congressman on Monday night, “If I was prescribing some medicine for you right now, congressman, I think I would say the situation is looking pretty terminal for your race to the GOP nominee. Why don’t you just do the decent thing and pull out?”
Paul responded, “Why don’t you do the decent thing and not pester me with silly questions like that? That would be decent of you.”
The two seemed to trade these words in good humor, but when Morgan pressed the 2012 hopeful about his lag in the polls as well as in the delegate race, Paul pushed back firmly, insisting that his campaign is “doing quite well” as far as delegates go, before finally interjecting, “Why don’t you let me finish?”
According to Paul, his campaign is doing “very well” in states like Washington and North Dakota, and seeing some good news come out of others like Missouri.
*Here are some of the reasons Paul thinks his race is still a viable thing. The cacusing process continues in those states where delegates are chosen not by popular vote but by a complicated selection in GOP conventions from precincts on up to state conventions and then to national. Paul campaign's press release on their delegate victories in Missouri caucuses last week:
In the St. Louis City Caucus held today, the 12-term Congressman from Texas won 36 delegates and 36 alternate delegates to both the 1st Congressional District and to the Republican State Convention, meaning Dr. Paul cleanly swept this consequential part of the statewide nominating contest. In total, Missouri’s 1st Congressional District has 103 delegates and Ron Paul won 36 of them as a result of winning the entire St. Louis City Caucus. For comparison sake, in the St. Louis City Caucus, Ron Paul received 158 votes and the next-closest vote recipient Rick Santorum garnered just 74 votes, or less than half.
The larger Jackson County caucus also occurred today. In the 5th Congressional District, Ron Paul won 63 delegates, won all 144 alternate delegates, won 105 delegates to the Republican state convention, and won 144 alternates to the state convention. In the 6th Congressional District, Dr. Paul swept all 39 delegates, won all 39 delegates to the state convention, and won 144 alternates to the state convention.
The countywide totals for Dr. Paul include 246 Congressional delegates, more than double Mitt Romney’s 120, and 360 alternate delegates for Ron Paul, a clean sweep in that regard.
Santorum and Newt Gingrich won zero Congressional delegates and alternate delegates in Jackson County.
*Hamdan Ahzar reports from that Missouri process at PolicyMic:
Missouri’s results – a shot in the arm for the Paul campaign – have led many observers to conclude that Mr. Paul’s caucus strategy is working better than they had anticipated. His strong performance follows several events in recent weeks that suggest that Ron Paul supporters – energized by the message of limited government and fiscal conservatism – are quickly taking over the leadership of the Republican party at the state and local levels across the country.
Earlier this month, in Las Vegas, Paul supporters were elected to two-thirds of the board positions in the Clark County Republican Party after winning more county convention delegates than any other candidate at the caucuses – including Mitt Romney. Meanwhile, in Iowa, the state co-chair of the Paul campaign was elected as the chairman of the Iowa Republican Party in February. Last week, Paul supporters swept all the delegate slots in two of Seattle’s largest legislative district conventions.
Such accomplishments belie the mainstream media’s efforts to marginalize Ron Paul’s candidacy. The Associated Press’s projections, for example, report the Texas congressman as being last in the delegate count. Election analysts, however, insist that those projections are driven by a failure to understand the rules governing delegate allocation in caucus states. Josh Putnam, election expert and professor of political science, agrees. The AP delegate count, he admits, is based on “a fantasy proportional allocation of delegates in the non-binding caucus states.”
Heading into the Missouri caucuses, the New York Times reported that Rick Santorum was "frantically wooing voters" in an attempt to secure a "second victory." Since then, the Times' caucus blog has maintained complete silence about Ron Paul's unexpectedly strong performance in the state.....
*Paul advisor Doug Wead studies some video from a Washington state caucus and sees a triple alliance of Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich against Ron Paul:
Thanks to the proliferation of cell phones you will hear Alex Hayes, director of mainstream Republicans of Washington State, making the claim that the Romney-Santorum-Gingrich campaigns have united behind a common slate of candidates in Washington State to block the Ron Paul machine from winning the delegates...
    The video Wead speaks of:

*And what might the payoff from all this diligent caucusing be for a Paul campaign still in "last place" in conventional terms? A Paul fan blogging at Lions of Liberty muses on the possible glories of a possible brokered GOP convention for Paul people. Paul fans, it says
have a deep rooted, firm foundation in our convictions through a truth seeking and historical perspective unmatched by detractors. We take the conversation one step further than the party line buzzwords that most parrot. We understand and actually kind of enjoy monetary policy. We are such nerds, that we spend even the 5 minutes of our seriously strapped free time going to meetings where we learn about becoming state delegates and county committee members.
That absurd dedication may yet pay off. A brokered convention could unleash the beast of pent up Paul support throughout the nation. We are out there, in numbers greater than the 6 or 7% GOP primary totals and while that may not translate to as sexy of a news story as winning a straw poll; it could translate to something much sexier at the convention in August. The Santorum campaign spoke of the growing chance of a brokered convention last week and has hired resources to study the “arcane rules” of such an event. While the Santo people start reading the rules, they may find themselves wasting their time as the Ron Paul faithful have already begun their journey through the procedural labyrinth to the GOP convention in Tampa (some of them as early as last year).....
I just don’t see the average Santorum, Romney, or Gingrich faithful having quite the level that we do. These arcane rules include further nooks and crannies at the state level too. Even in binding, winner takes all states, like my own, delegates can vote their own way under certain circumstances. This means that even the winners of these state’s primaries may not get their final delegate votes at a contested convention. In NJ, bound delegates only have to vote according to the popular winner in the first vote. This has huge implications for a campaign like Ron Paul’s. Even without the "plurality of delegates in 5 states" rule, which Paul still has a decent chance of achieving, candidates can re-appear after the second round of voting.
To back a candidate and an idea like Paul’s requires a step beyond the casual motivation or participation. We aren't Republicans and we don’t give a damn about your party line. We are free Americans, who understand that our liberty obliges us to learn a little bit more about life than is described by passionate bullet points. We are the nerds that spend our time blogging and going to state conventions....

Romney and Paul allege 'dirty tricks' by Santorum supporters

The campaigns of Mitt Romney and Ron Paul have filed a complaint alleging "serious and prejudicial misconduct" by supporters of rival Rick Santorum at the March 17 Missouri caucus that they say amounted to "voter suppression."

The complaint, filed with the state Republican party and several caucus officials and dated Monday, demands that the state party refuse to recognize the delegates from Jefferson County, where the campaigns say the improprieties took place.

At that caucus site, the complaint says, Santorum supporters deliberately delayed the proceedings when they realized they were outnumbered by a combination of Romney and Paul supporters. After the Romney and Paul voters left in frustration, the proceedings were allowed to resume, and by that time, Santorum voters had the majority, the complaint says.

    Complete coverage: Election 2012

Ryan Williams, a Romney spokesman said, "Facing a likely defeat, Senator Santorum's supporters used dirty political tricks to marginalize conservative activists and suppress votes in order to elect their delegates. The serious misconduct committed by Sen. Santorum's cronies is appalling, and should be denounced by every candidate in this race."

The Romney and Paul campaigns are demanding that the delegates selected at the Jefferson County site be barred from participating at congressional and state party conventions in April and June, when the selection of actual delegates bound to specific candidates takes place.

The county selected 72 delegates to take part in the April and May conventions. Of those, Santorum got 65, Romney got seven. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich got no delegates

    Ron Paul 2012
    California

I had something amazing happen to me today. My mother texted me " I love your passion for Ron Paul. He has my vote". I am 39 years old and have never been involved in politics. I have live in the San Francisco Bay area all my life. The "lesser of two evils" thing kept me away and uninterested, like most people my age. My eyes were opened to Ron Paul about 6 months ago and I had an awaking. Something inside me changed. For the 1st time in a very long time I had hope. So I began to share videos of Ron Paul speaking on Facebook.

6 months later I am happy to say I have exposed many people to Ron and his message. Today was a great day. My mom is a Republican and has been my whole life. When I 1st started to talk to her about Ron she basically laughed him off. Now she is on are side. People are waking up. This is a major
win in my eyes! If my mom can be convinced at 64 years old that freedom and liberty are the only way we should vote, that Ron Paul is the only choice... I am really starting to believe we can win this thing! I have always hoped, but this amazed me.

Now the real work starts... my Dad.

Ron Paul is a rock star at the Univ of Maryland 3/28/2012 – video clips

by rpadmin on March 29, 2012

Ron Paul was given the rock star treatment by a capacity crowd at the
University of Maryland Ritchie Coliseum on Wednesday evening. If you have not had the privilege to hear Dr. Paul speak in person, then I highly recommend you make the extra effort. Below are a few video clips to give you a taste of the action.
The fire marshall is said to have estimated the crowd at 1,780. From my perch high in the bleachers, with plenty of time to count, the crowd appeared to be closer to 2,500. This still left hundreds of late comers outside.

Supporters chant for “President Paul” a few minutes before the speech:

Ron Paul enters to the roar of the crowd and a long standing ovation:

    The cheers
    continue as Ron Paul exits:

Obama Care Dying, GOP Needs to Embrace Ron Paul Now If They Want To Win the White House

Submitted by MindUrBusiness on Wed, 03/28/2012 - 22:09 Ron Paul 2012

With Obama Care dying in the Supreme Court what issues can the other GOP candidates possibly use to beat Obama?

They were all for the bailouts, they all supported the wars, they all support the NDAA, Patriot Act, assignation of American citizens, GITMO, No child left behind and the FED.

The list goes on and on, Dr. Paul is the only GOP candidate that can draw a stark and truly conservative, libertarian line in the sand.

I thought that none of the other candidates had a chance at beating Obama before, but with Obama Care off the table their chances went from slim to none!
