Why Does Ron Paul Continue to Pack Houses?

    FoxDC.com reports:

Paul, who is in last place among the four Republicans seeking the GOP nomination to run against President Barack Obama (actually Paul is not in last place according to the latest CNN poll, but we’ll let this slide for the moment), spoke Wednesday night to a capacity crowd at the University of Maryland, College Park’s Ritchie Coliseum.

He touched on campaign themes underscoring the need to shrink federal government.

The fire marshal estimated about 1,780 people attended. Scores of students lined up outside were turned away because the venue was full.

Supporters chanted “President Paul” before the congressman spoke.

Combined inside and outside, Ron Paul spoke to about 2,000 people in Maryland. But why?

Why do so many keep coming to hear Dr. Paul speak at every stop? Why are they so enthusiastic about him? Why do they keep fighting to elect him president?

This is what the political and media establishment will never understand. The Ron Paul campaign is a mission to change this country by shrinking government, cutting spending and restoring liberty–not merely saying these things during a Republican primary, but actually doing them.

Paul supporters know that the status quo is unsustainable and genuinely fear for the future of their country. They realize that even though President Obama has exacerbated our problems, our problems did not begin with Obama.

Paul supporters also realize the other Republican candidates not only will do nothing to substantively change course in Washington DC–most of them are just as responsible as the Democrats for the current, sad state of affairs.

Obama vs. Obama-lite is no choice. Especially when it’s even arguable if the Republican is Obama-lite.

The political class can’t comprehend anything beyond largely meaningless horse races, but Paul supporters comprehend truths that will continue to have serious ramifications for America in 2012 and beyond.

Americans flock to Ron Paul not because he gives them a certain kind of hope–but because his message is our only hope.

Ben Swann (Reality Check) Interview with Josh Tolley on Santorum Delegate Count, and Paul Gaining

    Mar 29, 2012

Ben Swann - Anchor Fox 19 & Reality Check joins Josh Tolley to discuss the manipulation in the GOP, Santorum's real prospects, and Ron Paul GAINING ground! Why would the GOP not embrace a candidate which could bring millions of people to the party? Why would the media avoid a candidate who attracts the key demographic?

    Occupation: Republican presidential candidate

The leader of a vibrant libertarian movement, Paul has drawn huge, passionate crowds throughout the Republican presidential campaign. But on his third and final bid for the White House, Paul is again poised to come up short. Even so, the retiring 12-term Congressman has reshaped the national political debate and left behind his imprint on his party — not to mention an heir, Senator Rand Paul, to inherit his army.

    Mitt Romney

    Occupation: Republican presidential candidate

The likely Republican presidential nominee hasn't yet shaken conservative suspicions of his ideology or coaxed his foes into quitting the race. But with a steady, well-funded campaign that has focused on his business credentials, Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, has rolled to a sizable delegate lead in the race to Tampa. It's taken longer than he expected, but despite the vicissitudes of the GOP race, it looks like President Obama will face the challenger he expected all along.

    Rick Santorum

    Occupation: Republican presidential candidate

Nobody predicted that the former Pennsylvania Senator would be the last man standing between Mitt Romney and the Republican presidential nomination. But Santorum has confounded expectations despite running a shoestring campaign whose emphasis on polarizing social issues has left moderate Republicans fretting about his suitability as a standard bearer. The magic may have run out, though: despite 10 victories in the GOP nominating contest, Santorum has fallen far behind Romney in the race to 1,144 delegates.

Ron Paul draws his largest crowd yet - 5,200 people in Wisconsin!

    Submitted by Angel C on Thu, 03/29/2012 - 21:22 Ron Paul 2012

Last night 1,800 people packed inside a building in Maryland while 200 people lined up outside. All to see Dr. Ron Paul. Tonight, more than 5,200 people stood outside in 40 degree weather to hear Dr. Paul speak. This beats his previous record and is now the largest Town Hall meeting Dr. Paul has had to date!

Ron Paul supporters are enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated. Many politicians have attempted to wrestle control of Ron Paul supporters by floating rumors regarding secret deals and back room meetings. These politicians do not seem to realize that this is a movement and is about more than just one man.

I was sent the following email on March 29, 2012 at 9:21 pm:
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted an amazing more than 5,200 supporters and undecided voters to a college campus town hall meeting in Wisconsin, breaking his record of drawing large crowds to campaign events.

The 12-term Congressman from Texas’ campus town hall meeting took place at 7:00 p.m. CST outdoors on the Memorial Union Terrace – Waterfront, located at 800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706. Event organizers noted that the thousands of event attendees braved a brisk 40-degree breeze emanating from nearby lakes Mendota and Monona.

At the event, Dr. Paul spoke to an admiring crowd about the need for constitutionally-limited government, the enduring ties between civil and economic liberties, and key elements of his ‘Plan to Restore America,’ an oft-praised economic blueprint designed to reverse the rapid growth in government, spending, and borrowing that threatens prosperity and freedom.

Just yesterday, Dr. Paul drew a crowd of more than 2,000 people to his University of Maryland – College Park town hall meeting held inside Ritchie Coliseum.
