    From Zero Hedge via Bloomberg:

Ron Paul Recants The GOP, Just Says No To Keynesians

"As we anticipate more demand-rigging, pump-priming, can-kicking experiments from Bernanke today, Ron Paul just came out with his latest stream of truthiness (via Bloomberg):

*REP. PAUL SAYS BOTH PARTIES KEYNESIANS, GOP 'NOT HIS PARTY'

*REP. PAUL SAYS FED PRICE FIXING

*REP. PAUL SAYS FED FLOODING MARKET WITH MONEY

Indeed, what is the opposite of 'between a rock and a hard place' when deciding on just who will provide 'change' in November."

Watch Out! Maine GOP About To Declare Our Entire State Convention Void?

Submitted by SteveMartin on Fri, 08/31/2012 - 09:50
    Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Rumors abound throughout Maine that the progressive/NWO/Rockefeller elements in the Maine GOP (led by former Senator and DEMOCRATIC Secretary of Invasion, Bill Cohen, and his lapdog Sen. Susan Collins, and CFR Sen. Olympia Snowe and her boy toy, State Party Chairman, Charlie Webster) are about to commit the ultimate treason and declare our entire PROPERLY OPERATED Maine State Convention thrown out.

What happened in Tampa is apparently JUST THE BEGINNING of the raping of Maine voters.

This would mean restoring all of our gains in the Maine State Republican Committee with the RINOs they defeated, unseating our new Republican National Committeeman (Mark Willis) and Republican National Committewoman (Ashleigh Ryan) with the RINOs Rick Bennett and Jan Staples.

A special session of the MSRC was DULY CALLED for tomorrow (Saturday, 9-1-12) in Waterville by plenty of sitting MSRC members who petitioned as required in Maine GOP rules and Bylaws. It is also rumored--that despite the fact that Webster did in fact call the meeting and even sent out the agenda--that the attendees will be met with police force and locked out of the meeting site!

This would mean WAR in Maine.

REMEMBER MAINE!! Things could begin getting real ugly nationally based on what happens here.

    UPDATE:

A patriot activist who is close to many of our real delegates called Charlie Webster yesterday and was told that:

    1. He has the power ALONE to control the decision about whether to throw out the convention.

    2. That the RNC has no authority at all in this matter.

    3. That Charlie will not do it because he believes that the repercussions of it would seal the election against (RINO) Republicans on the ballot for the Maine House and Senate this fall.

    4. He says the RNC is embarrassed by all the negative national media produced by all patriot delegates in Tampa, and does not want to work with Maine (whatever that means) in the future.

Some don't fully trust the source, but a lot of this does ring true.

Further note: The source has been a paid P/T staffer for "Maine People Before Politics" which has some questionable ties to some Maine RINOs, and also to partially-conflicted Governor, Paul LePage.

Make of this what you will. Just passing on what I am hearing...

RNC Sham 2012 Video: "Assault on America's Last Statesman"

Submitted by Barracuda_Trader on Thu, 08/30/2012 - 18:16Daily Paul Liberty Forum

    RNC Sham 2012

The Convention is where delegates are meant to cast votes for the nominee, yet the Tampa Bay Times Forum was already plastered with embedded Romney banners, and additional signs for people to hold were also smuggled in to make it appear that many are behind him. All Ron Paul material was promptly confiscated.

Ron Paul was going to be nominated on the floor after acquiring a majority of delegates from five states, but the RNC had a quick meeting in the morning and was able to change the rules last minute and raised the qualification to eight states. A busload of delegates was literally kidnapped preventing their key input in to the early morning ruling.

Rather than taking proper vote counts or listening to objections, several votes were clearly not unanimous, but this didn't stop the RNC "leaders" from ignoring the dissent. Ron Paul's name and delegate totals were not allowed to be mentioned officially on the stage, even when he won the specific state.

The Republican Party has lost all hope, and the disrespect Paul supporters received will eventually be replied with "I told you so."

Quantify the Movement: The Case for Gary Johnson

Quantify the Movement: The Case for Gary Johnson

    Written by a Massachusetts Delegate

The Liberty Movement has a tremendous amount of momentum, and with the convention behind us we must set our sights on November and the next four years. We have made great strides in winning offices at the grass-roots level and must continue to do so if we are to affect change, but there is one thing we have not yet been able to accomplish, and that is to show the world exactly how big our movement can be in a general election. We all know there are droves of Ron Paul and Liberty-minded supporters who did not cast votes in primaries either because they are Democrats, Independents, or only interested in participating in a general election. By all casting votes for Gary Johnson we can in the course of just one day show the world how strong we truly are. I call this "Quantifying the Movement" and venture to list several rationales for a Johnson vote below.

The Case for the Republican Party: Often times, out of love, children must be disciplined to help shape them into better people. So is the case with political parties. It is no secret the Republican Party has gone out of their way, even breaking their own rules, to kick the sand in the face of the Liberty Movement. It is true we must transform the party from within in order to change this, but we must also show in no uncertain terms that the Republican Party needs to want and accept this change if it is to maintain and grow the support of such a critical wing of the party. The two agendas are mutually beneficial, not mutually exclusive.

The Case for Rand Paul: If Mitt Romney loses the election "because of Gary Johnson," how powerful would it be for Rand Paul to be able to approach the Republican Party with a quantifiable number of how many voters he could potentially bring back to the party if he were to become the next nominee? Some would argue that Liberty supporters voting against the party would hurt Rand Paul's chances – in truth it only makes them stronger.

The Case of Conscience: For too long have people been subscribing to the notion they must vote for the lesser of two evils. We are at a point in American history where 40% of the population does not identify as either a Democrat or a Republican. This presents an incredible opportunity to show the two parties that the system must evolve in order to survive.

The Case for the Message: A large voter turnout for Gary Johnson and Libertarian beliefs will force the general public to at the very lease ask why, and asking this important question is the first step towards discovering what the Liberty Message actually is.

In the following sections, I would like to offer several alternatives to the Johnson vote and why they are not as supportive of the Liberty Movement.

The No-Vote: Not voting is the weakest form of protest vote an individual can ever perform, simply because it is a protest that will never be heard. Staying home and not voting is quite possibly the worst thing a supporter of the Liberty Movement can do on Election Day.

The Write-In: The unfortunate truth of the matter is that write-ins simply are not counted. The candidate has to make themselves eligible as a write-in in most states and therefore a write-in is the practical equivalent of a no-vote. Gary Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states, guaranteeing that those votes for the Liberty Movement have the highest likelihood of being counted.

The Other Third Parties: The other third parties will most likely not be on the ballot in all 50 states. Therefore, not all of the Liberty Movement will be able to cast a unified vote at the national level.

The Romney Vote: The proper way to affect change within the Republican Party is to get and stay organized at the local and grass-roots level. Members of the Liberty Movement must get themselves elected into positions from school boards and town committees all the way up to the Senate.

However, thinking change will come by voting for a man who has repeatedly shunned the Liberty Movement is unrealistic and effectively gives permission to the Republican Party to continue business as usual.

The Obama Vote: Many Liberty supporters were once Obama supporters, but it is clear that he has failed in his promise to end wars and promote Liberty. In fact, he has done the exact opposite by creating more wars and passing legislation that erodes personal liberties. The Liberty Movement cannot endorse this and still call itself a Liberty Movement.

Finally, those who take issue with Gary Johnson’s position on abortion must keep in mind that although Ron Paul and Gary Johnson’s personal opinions on abortion differ, their actual policy opinions are not all that different. Both believe that legislation should happen at the state level and not in the courts.

Whatever you do in November, do it at the polls and feel good about the vote you place in the box. We are in a unique position as a movement to parlay great momentum into a very loud and clear message to the Republican Party and the Nation as a whole that the Liberty Movement is alive, well, and indeed the future. Let's show the world what the Liberty Movement means numerically in a General Election so that we may grow in strength and continue to right the path of These United States.

(R — candidate for US Sen. from Indiana), are all 3 interviewed on Mark Levin's show on Tues, Aug 29th.

I decided at that time not to post the interviews, and Levin's 15 min opening rant against the RNC because, well, it's Mark Levin. Even tho the entire show should play well to any grass-roots group, still, it's Mark Levin...disingenuous hard-nosed Neocon. Hypocrite. IMO.

So why did I go ahead and post it after all? Because today when I checked his site to see what he talked about on his show yesterday, I couldn't help but noticed he deleted the show from the 29th. And I'm not surprised.

Let me just say that, after listening to the show twice now (it is still in the audio section, plus I had downloaded it), I think his guest have moved on from Levin's books and are all now RP fans. This may or may not be a giant leap of faith, but all three made sure they didn't mention the name Ron Paul on Mark's show, but they sure talked the talk!

    A few brief notes:
—First 17:33 min, Mark rants against the RNC, the incumbent President, and Christie and others. And, oddly enough, he's talking to our choir, tho he NEVER admit it. In fact he said he called up to the MSM to complain about what the RNC is doing to the grass-roots, letting them know "it ain't just the Ron Paul Kooks!"

—@18:00 min. he introduced fellow Virginian, friend, and RNC Committeeman, Blackwell. who never once mentions his merry-go-round around the Convention center 3 times.

—@ 55 min. he introduces Sarah Palin who he pretty much lets talks at will. She did a good job. But I have to say, she sure sounded a lot more RP the neocon.

—@ 1:32:27 min— Last, but not least, Richard Mourdock from Indiana talks the Liberty Movement talk. Corruption, Oath to Office...sounded good to me.

Not the usual Neocon Levin fare. It's exactly the stuff that attracted me to Levin years ago, till I learned what a Neocon was thanks to Dr. Paul. And you know what they say: Gotta keep you friends close, but your enemies closer. I'm still curious as to why this show was deleted from his "Notes from the show" list, which I admit, I still look at once every so weeks to see what he's talking about.

    HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Republican Convention Rules Changes: How the Establishment Stole the GOP

    Written by Joe Wolverton, II

On August 28 the Republican National Committee (RNC) allowed representatives of the Mitt Romney campaign to seize control of the Republican Party. As The New American has reported, Ron Paul delegates from Maine were improperly denied credentials, robbing Paul of a majority of that state’s delegation. One disgusted Maine delegate described this decision as a “huge slap in the face.”

That slap hit more than just Maine. Maine’s Ron Paul delegates were roughly shoved out of the Republican Party’s quadrennial convention, and as a result of events surrounding the proposal and adoption of new rules to govern the presidential nomination process, every potential Republican presidential candidate with a message that doesn’t parrot the party line has been effectively ostracized.

    Forever.

The story of how a very small cabal of monied Republican activists carried out their coup d’etat has been chronicled in every major news outlet August 28 and 29.

The New York Times reported, “Over loud boos Romney supporters pass new rules.”

The Washington Post wrote, “Amidst a contentious scene on the floor of the convention, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) ruled that the committee rules had passed by a voice vote — despite loud protest from many in the arena.”

The Los Angeles Times reported “the RNC laid the groundwork to change its rules in a maneuver that would effectively make it harder for a Paul-type candidate in future elections.”

In order to make the nomination of Mitt Romney a fait accompli and to ensure that only those in his mold would ever carry the banner of the GOP, the RNC sacrificed adherence to its own rules on the altar of obedience to the Establishment.

In an exclusive conversation with The New American August 29, a longtime Republican activist recounted a tale that is at once incredible and unconscionable.

Richard Engle has served the Republican Party in Oklahoma diligently since 1988. His role in moving the Sooner State to the political right cannot be overstated. He has represented Oklahoma in the Republican National Committee and has sat on the RNC’s standing committee on rules.

Engle is intimately familiar with the proper Republican rules-making process — he has participated in it — and he recognizes how that process was hijacked by members of the Romney inner circle at the meeting of the Convention Rules Committee.

Before rules are considered by the Republican Convention Rules Committee, they percolate up from proposals made by the state delegates of the Standing Rules Committee. This group of dedicated Republican officials meets three times a year to discuss suggested changes and prepare a draft of new rules to be considered by the Convention Rules Committee that meets every four years.

Unlike the RNC’s Standing Rules Committee, the Republican National Convention Rules Committee (“Convention Rules Committee” for short) meets only once every four years and is composed of two delegates from each state (one man and one woman). These people are "good Republicans" and are unquestionably well-intentioned, but they often have little or no experience with the party’s rule-making procedures. This body is an ad hoc committee brought together for the sole purpose of receiving and reviewing the rule changes proposed by the standing committee.

As the Convention Rules Committee met August 28, the Romney campaign lawyer, Ben Ginsberg, showed up and in the words of Engle, “pressured for significant and dramatic” changes to the party’s rules governing the binding of delegates and the way rules are to be revised in the future.

According to the revised Rule 15 (to be renumbered as Rule 16 in the new rule book) as proposed by Ginsberg, every state must amend its nominating process to ensure that their delegations are bound to vote in accordance with the winner of the popular vote as cast at state caucuses or primaries.

Ginsberg’s version of Rule 12 empowers the RNC to bend its own rules to suit their needs at any time without submitting the changes to party members gathered at the quadrennial convention. This unprecedented revision places the control of the GOP in the hands of the Establishment candidate without suffering the inconvenience of listening to dissenting voices. As Engle reckons, in the future the nomination of an incumbent Republican president is guaranteed and upon leaving office, he will be able to name his chosen successor through manipulation of the party rules.

When it comes to all this “radical” rewriting, Engle admits that he doesn’t know whether Ginsberg acted on his own or on behalf of Governor Romney. He does know, however, that the sweeping revisions of Rules 12 and 15 (now 16) “changed the nature of the Republican Party and returned it to the smoke-filled rooms of the past.”

So drastic were the revisions that Engle compared the convention to the Soviet Politburo, a sham with no more legitimate power than to rubber stamp their leaders’ directives.

To their credit, Engle relates that upon hearing Ginsberg’s suggested rules changes the delegates on the Convention Rules Committee “of every stripe” reacted negatively. All of them realized that if the changes were adopted by the convention, the populist influence would be eliminated and all non-Establishment voices within the Republican Party would be silenced. Engle worries that the rules package proposed by Ginsberg would have the effect of putting “a certain type of party member in charge of the GOP.”

Evidence of the delegates’ displeasure is found in the attempted filing of a Minority Report. According to Rule 34 of the Republican Party rules in effect at the August 28 meeting:

No resolution or amendment pertaining to the report of the Committee on Resolutions or the Committee on Rules and Order of Business shall be reported out or made a part of any report of such committee or otherwise read or debated before the convention, unless the same shall have been submitted to the chairman, vice chairman, or secretary of such committee or to the secretary of the convention in writing not later than one hour after the time at which such committee votes on its report to the convention and shall have been accompanied by a petition evidencing the affirmative written support of a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of the membership of such committee.

The Minority Report opposing the Romney lawyer’s rule changes was signed, sealed, but was never delivered. Curiously, the delegate in possession of the Minority Report was riding a bus denied entry to the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Virginia delegate Chris Stearns was on the bus blocked from stopping at the Convention. “They're keeping us all on a bus and not allowing us in the security perimeter,” Stearns posted on his Facebook page.

Without a timely filed Minority Report, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) proceeded to call for a vote on Ginsberg’s rewrite of the Republican rulebook.

Standing at the podium and reading from a teleprompter, Boehner instructed those in favor of the rules to say “aye” and those opposed to say “nay.”

According to Engle, who was on the floor at the time, “in my hearing the ‘nays’ had it.” He admits the vote might have been close and as such Boehner should have called for a roll call vote rather than a voice vote. In another example of unexplained deviation from applicable Republican Party protocol, Boehner ignored the dissenting delegates for "division," which is a roll call vote.

Whether it was the will of Mitt Romney or the independent work of one of his key counselors, Engle fears that the new rules governing the Republican Party’s method of selecting a presidential candidate nailed closed the coffin of the GOP. This week observers may be witnessing “the last Republican National Convention as we know it,” he added.

A small coterie of Establishment Republicans have wrested control of the GOP and formed the mold into which any Republican wanting to run for president from now on must fit.
