There was also a long war about catfish. The Vietnamese were dumping while American catfishermen were losing business. Our folks yelled and we put tariffs on the imports. The Vietnamese cleverly changed the name to basa. Every package of basa in the freezer section will say "Product of Vietnam."

It's kind of like here, how is it over 50 illegal aliens can hang out at a Home Depot parking lot (loitering is against the law here) every day of the week and not one single law enforcement agency every stops by to do their job of enforcing the law. Since these people are violating the law by loitering, they have probably cause to check their ID's and make an arrest. Yet HPD sits at a restaurant only feet away doing nothing.
Somehow we have got to get law enforcement to start doing their jobs enforcing the laws we already have on the books.Certified Member

The Town of South Padre Island has recently formed an Ethics Committee; the first item they need to discuss is the vast majority of labor completed on South Padre Island is done by illegal;
This is very relevant to ethics because by not enforcing work visa regulations and laws, has eroded the voting eligibility of the resident voting base of the area by hiring ILLEGAL immigrants;
This leaves only the elite resort owners eligible to decide who is the power base of the Town of South Padre Island.
Where is Mayor Pinkerton?

The flood gates are open and something needs to be done to protect Our Great Nation:
Re: Border Violence and Spring Break
Here is an interesting website dedicated to Border Violence:

Quote:
The Gulf cartel is based in Matamoros, Tamaulipas state, and smuggles cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and methamphetamine into the US. The cartel is known for its violence and intimidation. Aside from earning money from narcotics sales, the Gulf cartel also collects “taxesâ€

Pass all the laws you want up North--I am telling you to GIVE UP;
Your efforts are wasted: the flood gates are open, and they have been open for a long time; Bush ran this state for years and DID NOTHING except what his campaigne contributers paid him to do;
When Bush became president he annointed Perry campaigne contribution collector--and Perry has done nothing;
Yet, weapons of mass destruction, which were never found, were more important to spend hundreds of billions of our tax dollars on when the most dangerous threat to Our security is the cartel's control of America's Southern border--especially Cameron County, the only shared point where Texas and Mexico share the sea;
Strategically, this makes Cameron County more important than Iraq or Afganistan--yet we have allowed the cartel to BUY land and businesses in Cameron County; and Americans cannot buy land in Israel or Mexico.

I remember when Bush was getting much criticism about his mismanagement of the Iraq and Afganistan Wars, he first announced America was going to Mars;
Then he begun using the "Border Wall" as a bait and switch technique to get America to forget about the Middle East; and Jeb Bush was fighting in Florida for illegal imigrants to have the PRIVILEDGE of earning a driver's license--because corporate orange producers know every time an illegal immigrant drives a piece of farm machinery from one field to another field, and crosses a public road, this voids their libility insurance;
I have to ask myself, in a recession, is it more patriotic to pay to maintain the Alamo as a memorial to the idea of sacrificing everything for freedom and democracy, or maybe we should dismantle the Alamo and use the stones for the border wall to keep Santa Ana's criminal brethren out (the foot soldiers and smugglers of the cartels); once again those bricks could preserve our democracy for a couple more generations.
If only a wall were enough. . .

Read what South Padre Island has to say for itself regarding "visual appearance" and this can be directly attributed to foreigners buying up most of Padre Blvd, and then, in my opinion, hiring almost exclusively, illegal immigrants to maintain and service the businesses:

It's that time of year again when thousands of illegals flood into South Texas because they can blend in with the spring break crowds--and distribute illegal drugs to the college students:

If you don't think we aren't at war and being invaded, corroded, and corrupted, then you don't live in Cameron County, Mexico.
