ALIPAC Responds to NC Legislator's Personal Attacks

ALIPAC Responds to NC Legislator's Personal Attacks

ALIPAC is applauding the NC House passage of HB 33 today while responding to the inaccurate personal attacks launched by NC State Representative Rick Glazier who called the group's message "hateful and ugly" and from the "margins of society."

ALIPAC is America's 3rd largest grass roots organization advocating for more border and immigration law enforcement. William Gheen, President of ALIPAC, is a registered lobbyist, prior employee of the NC General Assembly, and is quoted or interviewed often on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CBS, and most of the major daily newspapers in America.

The vote margin in favor of HB 33, which stops state agencies from accepting worthless Matricula cards sold to illegal aliens by the Mexican government, passed by an increased margin of five more votes after ALIPAC's letter and Glazier's meltdown on the floor of the house.

HB 33 passed on second reading Tuesday by a vote of 64-53. After ALIPAC's letter was sent to lawmakers, activists, and press calling for GOP primary challengers to remove the two Republicans voting with Democrats against the bill from office. Representatives Barnhart (R-Cabarrus) and McComas (R-New Hanover) joined the rest of the Republicans and HB 33 passed by 66 to 50 on 3rd reading Wednesday!

"We enjoyed watching Representative Rick Glazier meltdown and start crying on the house floor yesterday, but must point out that he was being both dishonest and unprofessional with his presentation," said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. "Our open letter did not contain any of the 'prejudicial' elements Glazier cited and after twenty years of service to the NC General Assembly members, I hardly feel our message came from the 'margins of society.'

NC Lawmakers apparently did not buy Glazier's claims either as HB 33 now heads to the NC Senate. ALIPAC has predicted that the bill has in excess of 80% public support and will serve as 'political kryptonite' to any lawmaker who opposes it including Governor Perdue.

"Standing up for illegal aliens and the Mexican government against the interests of North Carolinians in this matter is going to end some more political careers," said William Gheen. "Just like it played a role in ending the dominance of the NC Legislature by Democrats in 2010."

ALIPAC is currently engaged in state legislation battles in 40 states.

ALIPAC's president is a lifelong NC native who has served in the past as a legislative assistant, registered lobbyist, Assistant Sgt-At Arms, and campaign consultant to numerous NC lawmakers. William Gheen was also a statewide officer for the NC Democratic Party back in the 90's serving as President of the NC Federation of College Democrats before joining the Republicans in 2000.

William Gheen can be heard on numerous talk radio shows in NC today discussing Representative Rick Glazier's false and defamatory comments, HB 33, and the reversed votes of Jeff Barnhart and Danny McComas.

I wrote to that lawmaker and told him he was wrong, explained why we are in danger and gave him the list of my links under my "Latinization of America" post.
