Facebook tries to Sandbag Protests Against Obama, Illegal Immigration, & Amnesty

The next national wave of protests against illegal immigration and Obama's plans to decree immigration reform amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants kicks off today and tomorrow at protest locations in more than 250 towns and cities despite numerous efforts by Facebook to hinder and suppress the movement.

In the last few weeks, Facebook has restricted the communications abilities of the two primary leaders of national organizations conducting the protests, while also interfering with conservative activists by refusing to let them share posts and event pages related to opposition to the Obama and Mark Zuckerberg supported amnesty plans for illegals.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is releasing this video proving part of the interference, which was lifted shortly after the video was publicly released last night.

Facebook restored access last night about 10 minutes after this video was posted to the National Protests against illegal immigration event page and William Gheen's main profile page.

All members of the media and all illegal immigration-opposing activists are encouraged to continue to support and attend the more than 250 protests scheduled for October 24-25! (click here for protest locations and times)

This is the second time Facebook has been caught acting in a highly biased way to try to stop Americans that oppose Obama. This video from February, 2013 documents prior censorship of protests against Obama. (CLICK HERE)


"We want everyone to know that Facebook is working behind the scenes to make sure that any political agenda that contradicts the plans of owner Mark Zuckerberg and Barack Obama is not going to snowball into an avalanche!" said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Facebook is restricting access to our own groups, blocking conservatives from sharing some events, and restricting the reach of our groups so that very few people see what we post! Americans need a better alternative to Facebook that is not using sneaky ways to suppress the efforts of conservatives."

Screen shots and videos document that many supporters of the protests against Obama and illegal immigration are not being allowed to share the main event page on Facebook, William Gheen was blocked from communicating with more than 100,000 people of 2 large groups including the main ALIPAC Facebook page, and James Neighbors of Overpasses for America had his account restricted for almost two weeks before the protests without explanation from Facebook.

"I founded Overpasses for America on Facebook and I manage 40 state level groups that I could not interact with when Facebook took away my ability to post or create events up until Oct 21!" said James Neighbors, founder of Overpasses for America. "Facebook refused to give me any explanation for paralyzing my account and destroying my ability to lead and organize."

Facebook has also restricted the "reach" of pages so that even with more than 15,000 supporters on ALIPAC's main Facebook page, any post by ALIPAC is usually only shown to less than 300 people on the page!

Overpasses for America and ALIPAC are encouraging American activists who oppose Obama and illegal immigration to join email alerts for groups they support, begin using older online forum technologies instead of biased social media, and to spread the word that Facebook is working to hinder conservatives.

Facebook's New App 'Rooms' Lets You Chat Anonymously

Facebook announced a new stand-alone mobile app that enables people to communicate anonymously—a change in the company's long-standing policy.

Called "Rooms," the app is a sort of updated version of chat rooms or web forums, as it enables people to communicate around different topics.

The idea, says the blog announcing the new product, is that people can create "places for the things you're into, and invite others who are into them too." Users can customize the look and feel of forums, and share photos and videos about any topic—the app suggests 'City Gargens' and 'Pug Lovers.

This is a departure for Facebook, which has had a long-standing policy against using fake names. In contrast, Rooms allows people to contribute anonymously, under multiple pseudonyms. Other anonymous and private apps, like Secret and Whisper, have seen rising popularity, as have sites like Reddit.

This new app fits with the strategy CEO Mark Zuckerberg laid out: He wants to build a family of mobile apps beyond just Facebook. In addition to Instagram and WhatsApp, both of which Facebook purchased, this, Rooms demonstrates how Facebook wants to move beyond the company's core identity to build products that offer consumers a diversity of experiences, so they can communicate and share however they like without leaving Facebook's ecosystem.

Facebook shares traded nearly 3% higher intra-day Thursday following the news. Facebook earnings are due out after the bell Tuesday.

Catering to the obscure, Facebook's new pseudo-anonymous app, "Rooms," lets users geek out on niche topics without ever having to reveal their real identities.

Less than 24 hours after the app launched, a slew of new rooms have been created, covering a spectrum of topics that span from "Mormon Living" to "Men's Speedo Lovers."

The chat room and message board hybrid allows like-minded people to create rooms to discuss any topic of interest. A QR code is generated, which the room's creator can distribute to others as an invitation to join the conversation.

While Rooms doesn't have a discovery feature, Josh Miller, product manager for the app, advised users to search Instagram using the hashtag #Rooms to find public invitations for topics that may interest them.

To use the invitation, users must take a screen shot of the QR code by simultaneously pressing the home and power buttons on their iPhones.

Then, they must open the rooms app, choose "use invite," and find the shot on their camera roll to gain access to the room they wish to join.

Once inside, users are treated to a feed of videos, photos and text on the given topic of interest.

While Facebook has a real name policy, Rooms lets users choose any username they want, and their handles can differ for each room they're a member of.

Miller said Rooms allows people to revel in the sides of themselves that they may not get to show their friends.

"One of the things our team loves most about the internet is its potential to let us be whoever we want to be," he said in a blog post on Thursday. "This can be liberating, but only if we have places that let us break away from the constraints of our everyday selves. We want the rooms you create to be freeing in this way."

Rooms is available in the Apple app store for users in the United States and United Kingdom and other English-speaking countries, Facebook said.

Just heard from Facebook's Republican campaign outreach guy. This is the reply I just sent in...

Mr. Seymour,

I am doubtful that your employer Mark Zuckerberg, or prior employer John Boehner, would have any interest in truly assisting us. Placating us yes, fixing these problems... probably not since we are the political opposition to immigration reform amnesty. As you are aware, both Mark Zuckerberg , John Boehner, and Barack Obama are spending an exorbitant amount of time and money to try and pass immigration reform for illegal immigrants.


We are their political opposition and we are being severely mistreated on Facebook.


Now we find that trying to stop them on Facebook is becoming more difficult because the software platform is being utilized and configured in different ways to hinder our ability to grow, communicated with like minded Americans, and organize them into civic action.



We just received word last night that a similar conservative James Okeefe of the Civitas Institute also had his account shut down without explanation last night!


We have been using Facebook to organize like minded Americans since 2009 and our combined group, profile, and pages membership now exceeds 500,000 people. While we have spent thousands of dollars on advertising, the vast majority of our supporters are organic or created by our network outside of Facbook combined with our national media presence.

We have recently encountered the following problems...

1. Facebook will usually only allow a few hundred people to see our posts on our pages even though we have tens of thousands of supporters. ON our main organization page at this link, we have more than 15,400 supporters it took us five years to build up, but Facebook limits our reach to them and only lets around 100-300 see our updates but of course offers to let us pay to "boost" our post to reach those we already spent time and money to organize on the page.

We are lucky if a few thousand people out of half a million see what we try to post to them!


2. James Neighbors of Overpasses for America had his account severely restricted from posting and creating events which severely crippled his abiliity to organize and lead the Oct 24-25 protest across America. Facebook kept his account paralyzed until Oct 21 just before the events began and have offered James no explanation nor reprieve!

3. Two of my three largest pages would not allow me to post the other night. My access was restored about ten minutes after I launched this video documenting the problem, posted on other pages i could still access...

4. If you look in the comments section beneath our Facebook event page you will see many people complaining that Facebook is restricting them from Sharing the page. This is a very common ailment for conservatives on Faceook. Many items of great interest to conservatives have restrictions on sharing....

So the fact that Facebook is suspending abilities of our national leaders, blocking access to our own pages, preventing activists from sharing contents, and severely limiting our reach... while of course sticking an ad in our faces all day and night to join FWD.us to support amnesty for illegal aliens makes the situation pretty clear.

This is the second time that Facebook employees and software have worked to sandbag those of us that oppose Zuckerberg and Obama's agenda. Last year we found our ads blocked, our event censored from the Facebook search engines, and trolls in clear violation of Facebook's own TOS raiding our event pages without any ability on our part to prevent them from doing so. While these viscous trolls have recently fallen silent around these events, Ill never forget the large amount of satanic and pornographic filth and threats your Facebook employees allowed them to deploy against our activists that just wanted to join with others holding signs opposign Obama. We would even report these trolls ove rand over again to your moderators and nothing we could do or say would stop them from posting that they were going to get our activists fired from their jobs, that they were going to physically harm our activist, and unfounded accusations our activists engaged in adultery and bestiality.
