Two of the national groups that helped organize and conduct the historic July 18-19 protests against illegal immigration in more than 300 locations across America are announcing a new round of targeted protests to take place on Saturday, August 2, in the states that have GOP primary elections on August 5-7!

Overpasses for America and ALIPAC are calling on the more than 50 organizations and thousands of activists who formed a powerful coalition against illegal immigration to join these new August 2 protests focused in the election battleground states of Tennessee, Washington, and Michigan. Protest locations will be outside of the district offices of incumbent Republican lawmakers who support amnesty and on nearby overpasses.

US Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), who voted for the immigration reform amnesty bill S. 744 which passed the Senate but was stopped in the House, faces a strong primary challenge from Joe Carr on Thursday, August 7. Alexander's amnesty bill would have granted amnesty, eventual voting rights, public services, and more American jobs to tens of millions of illegal immigrants.

Eric Cantor's Republican allies for immigration reform amnesty legislation in the House face primaries on Tuesday, August 5, and they include Fred Upton (R-MI), Justin Amash (R-MI), Dave Reichert (R-WA), and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). Many certified polls show in excess of 80% of Republican primary voters oppose the immigration reform amnesty these DC insider lawmakers support!

"We have more Eric Cantor kinds of Republicans in these three states who support the nationally destructive immigration reform amnesty for illegals which is responsible for the current surge of illegal immigrants at our borders," said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "We want to have protests outside of the offices of these amnesty supporters on August 2, to help educate voters about which lawmakers are to blame for our current illegal immigration crisis."

A recent Gallup poll indicates that illegal immigration has now swept to the top of the list of concerns among American voters. Other polls are also showing American opposition to immigration reform amnesty legislation rising rapidly in the midst of the 2014 election cycle.

"We want to call attention to the important elections of 2014 and the issue of America's illegal immigration crisis!" said James Neighbors, founder of Overpasses for America. "We want our state groups to quickly organize and we want our most experienced protesters from across the nation to converge with us on Tennessee, Washington, and Michigan."
