ALIPAC, America's largest grass roots organization that endorses federal candidates who oppose illegal immigration or any form of Amnesty for illegal immigrants, is announcing support for the Richard Mourdock for US Senate campaign today. We will be sending in activists to help defeat the notorious Amnesty supporter Senator Richard Lugar.

Richard Mourdock has pledged to support the enforcement of America's existing border and immigration laws instead of undermining them further with Dream or Comprehensive Amnesty plans for illegal immigrants.

Mourdock is in a close primary race with incumbent Senator Richard Lugar who is a notorious Amnesty supporter. Richard Lugar worked closely with liberal illegal alien Amnesty supporter Dick Durbin to try and pass the unpopular Dream Act Amnesty which has failed in Washington five times. Incumbent Senator Richard Lugar has also opposed bills that would have strengthened America's border enforcement. The DC watchdog group NumbersUSA gives Richard Lugar a "D" grade on immigration issues due to his support for illegal immigrant Amnesty.

"Indiana voters have a clear choice between Richard Mourdock, who will fight to protect American jobs, taxpayer resources, and lives from illegal immigration, and Richard Lugar, who has fought to support the interests of illegal immigrants over American citizens," said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Polls show us that Americans reject Richard Lugar's Amnesty legislation 3 to 1 and we need to remind GOP voters about Lugar's Amnesty plans before they vote. We need Indiana voters to vote against Amnesty for illegal aliens by voting for Mourdock and against Lugar."

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC has been endorsing federal candidates since 2004 and is cited often in local, national, and global media. With over 40,000 supporters nationwide, ALIPAC plans to encourage supporters to volunteer, donate, and vote for Richard Mourdock for US Senate. ALIPAC is also trying to raise funds to make direct contact with GOP voters in Indiana reminding them of Richard Lugar's unpopular support for Amnesty for illegal immigrants.

ALIPAC is comprised of Americans of every race, political party, state, and walk of life representing the larger majority of voters who want more enforcement of existing immigration and border laws.

ALIPAC played a key role in the defeat of Lugar's Dream Act Amnesty legislation in Washington, DC, on numerous occasions, and US Senator Dick Durbin specifically cited ALIPAC's strategies for the destruction of the Amnesty legislation's most recent appearance in December, 2010.

Indianapolis, IN (April 20, 2012) – Indiana State Treasurer, U.S. Senate Candidate in Republican Primary on May 8th, received the endorsement of the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), America's largest grassroots organization for the promotion of immigration enforcement and border security advocacy, over six-term incumbent Senator Dick Lugar.
"I appreciate the support of the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC and the thousands of Americans nationwide who believe as I do that we need to work to prevent illegal immigrants from using taxpayer-funded services. As a U.S. Senator, I will fight to secure our borders and ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent only on those legally allowed to live in the United States.
"Unfortunately, Senator Dick Lugar believes that illegal immigrants should have the same rights as citizens and law-abiding legal residents. Lugar has a long record of fighting for amnesty for illegal immigrants and is a primary sponsor of the DREAM Act, which would fast-track amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants nationwide. I staunchly oppose the DREAM Act and any other legislation that would provide amnesty for illegal immigrants. I believe that we must act immediately to secure our borders and enforce the law," stated Treasurer Mourdock.
ALIPAC President William Gheen said, "Indiana voters have a clear choice between Richard Mourdock, who will fight to protect American jobs, taxpayer resources and lives from illegal immigration, and Richard Lugar, who has fought to support the interests of illegal immigrants over American citizens. Polls show us that Americans reject Richard Lugar's amnesty legislation three-to-one and we need to remind GOP voters about Lugar's amnesty plans before they vote. We need Indiana voters to vote against amnesty for illegal aliens by voting for Mourdock and against Lugar."
Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock is an outspoken critic of the debt ceiling vote, a strong advocate of serious fiscal reform starting with spending cuts, a champion of the Second Amendment and a voice for conservative values.
To date, Mourdock has received endorsements from the National Rifle Association, the Club for Growth, Indiana Right to Life, Steve Forbes, Citizens United Political Victory Fund, talk show host Mark Levin, Gun Owners of America, FreedomWorks, Tea Party Express, Concerned Women PAC, Eagle Forum, Morton Blackwell and Red State's Erick Erickson.

    Poll: Lugar trails primary opponent

Veteran Sen. Richard G. Lugar, Indiana Republican, is trailing his primary challenger by 5 percentage points in a new poll released Thursday.

State treasurer Richard Mourdock has 44 percent support compared with 39 percent for Mr. Lugar, according to a poll funded by the Mourdock-supporting group Citizens United.

The margin is the largest yet for Mr. Mourdock, who is hoping voters' anti-incumbent mood and the deep pockets of conservative groups will allow him to unseat the six-term senator.

The poll also showed Mr. Lugar's favorability among Republican voters dropping to 44 percent. Mr. Lugar led Mr. Mourdock until last week, when a McLaughlin poll showed Mr. Mourdock up by 1 percentage point.

The fiscally conservative Club for Growth, which has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to attack Mr. Lugar as a liberal Washington insider, released a new television ad this week that begins with a narrator asking, "What happened to Dick Lugar?"

"He was a respected national leader, a statesman," the ad says. "Then he became part of the problem, joining the liberals in voting for record debt, bailouts and tax hikes. Now he's clinging to power, throwing mud at conservative Richard Mourdock with ads that have been called 'misleading,' 'weak' and 'desperate.'"
