    ***Let Freedom Ring***

    I was listening to this today (on a CD I made last year for the Fourth) and realized that although I love to hear the National Anthem on the Fourth, this more suits our times and our needs. I have heard from so many people, who fear this country is slipping down to a point where we will not be able to return to what we were. I believe the one thing that has been lost to us, and will seal our fate if we do not acknowledge, is our gratefulness to God for giving us this nation, and the loss will come when we let apathy slip in between us and the faith in God, which has always kept this nation alive.

    We need to give credit, where credit is due, for all we have here, this hymn says it all.

    My country,' tis of thee,
    sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;
    land where my fathers died,
    land of the pilgrims' pride,
    from every mountainside let freedom ring!

    My native country, thee,
    land of the noble free, thy name I love;

    I love thy rocks and rills,
    thy woods and templed hills;
    my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.

    Let music swell the breeze,
    and ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song;
    let mortal tongues awake;
    let all that breathe partake;
    let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.

    Our fathers' God, to thee,
    author of liberty, to thee we sing;
    long may our land be bright
    with freedom's holy light;
    protect us by thy might, great God, our King.
