[Watch] Ted Cruz Identifies Four Key Issues For Mid-Term Elections, Amnesty is #1

Posted on 2 September, 2014 by Rick Wells

In his speech at the Americans for Prosperity summit, Senator Ted Cruz proclaimed that at that time, there were 66 days left until Election Day. He said, “I’m going to tell you four key issues that are going to be front and center from now until Election Day.
Number one – no amnesty.” He says, “’President’ Obama has made a decision to make this election in 2014 a national referendum on amnesty. If you support amnesty vote Democrat. If you oppose amnesty, throw Harry Reid out.”
Cruz officially extended an invitation to Obama to join him on the Texas border, one that will surely go lacking an RSVP although it is an invitation to golf on the border, so the chance of a reply does exist, albeit remote.
Second on the list of key issues is Obamacare and the necessity to put an end to the damage it is doing to individuals as well as the national economic impacts. He points out that its popularity has plummeted with every group, including Democrats.
Cruz asserts next, “The third issue this election is going to come down to is restoring America’s leadership in the world. The senator muses how shocked we must all have been when Obama revealed his lack of a strategy for dealing with ISIS and the Iraq and Syria situations. He recalls the response of Ronald Reagan when questioned on his strategy for the cold war in which Reagan said “It’s very simple, we win, they lose.”

He says the Fourth and final issue is defending our constitutional rights, saying, “If you support the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, then vote Harry Reid out. If you support the Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights to privacy, vote Harry Reid out. If you support the Tenth Amendment and want to repeal every word of common core, then vote Harry Reid out.”
Cruz continues, “And if you support the First Amendment, our freedom of speech, our freedom of religion, if you celebrate the Supreme Court’s tremendous victory for religious liberty in the Hobby Lobby case, if you’re tired of the IRS targeting citizens for their political beliefs, if you’re tired of the most corrupt Department of Justice in history obstructing justice and believe it is time to impeach Eric Holder, if you are tired of seeing fifty Democratic senators in Washington DC put their name to a constitutional amendment to repeal the free speech protections of the First Amendment because they are so terrified of each and every one of you; if you believe in the First Amendment, vote Harry Reid out.”
Cruz closes by saying thank you and shares his belief that the American people are rising up to take their country back. His points are well taken. This is a tremendously important election coming up and one we must work very hard to influence the outcome of.
