It’s On Record: Corporations Really Do Directly Bribe & Enrich Politicians

Breitbart.com has a summary of yesterday’s 60 Minutes expose of how members of Congress spend massive amounts of “campaign” cash on themselves and their lifestyles.

One example among many is a warmonger, pro-domestic-spying Republican:

Sen. Saxby Chambliss’s (R-GA) leadership PAC dropped $107,752 at the Breakers resort in Palm Beach during the 2012 election cycle. That is over three times as much money as he gave the National Republican Senatorial Committee to get fellow Republicans elected. One year, Chambliss spent nearly one-third of his entire leadership PAC funds on golf, limos, and at least one private jet ride. His leadership PAC also picked up a $26,814 dinner tab at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and $10,344 at Pebble Beach.

They also get to loan their own money to their campaigns at high rates of interest. In that way they effectively raise funds for their campaigns which then go directly into their own personal incomes.

Rep. Grace Napolitano (D-CA) has bagged at least $294,245 since 1998 by loaning her congressional campaign money at interest rates up to 18%—a scheme that effectively funneled campaign contributor donations into her personal bank account.

The story also covered nepotism. Since I don’t believe in anti-nepotism rules, I don’t think this is as strong a criticism. Obviously, you need people you can trust in politics and sometimes family members are your best resource. This allows 60 Minutes and Breitbart.com to go after Ron Paul. Perhaps I'm being to easy on him. You can decide for yourself whether Ron Paul is living up to or falling short of his ethics in this case.

The 60 Minutes report is supposedly just a small part of the whole story. A forthcoming book (by Breitbart’s news editor) is supposed to also cover Obama and, my favorite, Eric Holder.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may have taken another step toward seeking the 2016 Republican Presidential nomination with a combative op-ed on Breitbart.

Recalling that she had once beaten crooked Republican politicians in Alaska – who’d brazenly tagged themselves “the Corrupt Bastards Club” – Palin rhetorically asked: “Doesn’t it seem like [today] we have a Corrupt Bastards Club in D.C.? On steroids?”

Disloyal Republicans are enabling President Barack Obama to march the country toward socialism while denouncing Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and tea party-aligned House members who have been trying to defund Obamacare, Palin charged.

Establishment GOP politicians failed to use the power of the purse to halt Obamacare’s implementation. Instead, “they balked, waved the white flag, and joined the lapdog media in trashing the good guys who fought for us,” Palin wrote.

She challenged the Republican establishment to unite behind conservative grassroots efforts to block Obamacare before it is too late.
She warned that Obamacare is part of a phased plan toward socialized medicine and raised the prospect that the system’s much-lamented computer glitches could be part of a purposeful scheme to accelerate that process.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday withdrew legal opposition to gay marriage, making same-sex nuptials the law in the state.
The move makes New Jersey the 14th state in the nation to legalize gay marriage.

On Friday, the state Supreme Court refused to delay a lower-court order for the state to begin recognizing same-sex marriages. On Monday morning, Christie said in a statement that he ordered an appeal dropped.

“Chief Justice Rabner left no ambiguity about the unanimous court’s view on the ultimate decision in this matter when he wrote, ‘same-sex couples who cannot marry are not treated equally under the law today,” Christie said.

“Although the governor strongly disagrees with the Court substituting its judgment for the constitutional process of the elected branches or a vote of the people, the Court has now spoken clearly as to their view of the New Jersey Constitution and, therefore, same-sex marriage is the law.
“The governor will do his constitutional duty and ensure his Administration enforces the law as dictated by the New Jersey Supreme Court.”
One second after midnight in Lambertville, a city of just under 4,000 people on the Delaware River, Beth Asaro and Joanne Schailey said “I do” in what they believed was the state’s first such ceremony. Their union before Mayor David DelVecchio was held in a municipal meeting hall.

“When I go to bed tonight I don’t have to worry about the living will or powers of attorney and do I have everything dotted and crossed,” Asaro, 53, a city councilwoman, told reporters after the vows. “I’m equal now. I’m not an exception on all the forms.”

At City Hall in Newark, the state’s most populous city, Cory Booker, the two-term Democratic mayor who voters elected to the U.S. Senate last week, officiated for seven gay and two heterosexual couples who descended a set of curving steps just before midnight. They were greeted in the marble rotunda by a crowd of about 200, many of whom said they wanted to see history made.

A protester briefly disrupted proceedings when he shouted that the unions were against God’s law. Police officers escorted him out. Booker went on to declare Joseph Panessidi, 65, a retired advertising executive, and Orville Bell, 65, a teacher, were “lawful spouses,” and the crowd clapped and whooped.

Obama & Congress Taking Advantage Of Unlimited Spending

So what really happened when Congress brokered a deal and ended the partial government shutdown? Obamacare is still fully funded, the sequestration cuts are pretty much gone and the debt ceiling has been removed instead of raised. Basically, Obama and Democrats were given a blank checkbook between now and February 17, 2014 to spend as much as they possibly can.

And they are taking full advantage of it!

The day after the shutdown ended, our government spent a record $328 billion. That’s the equivalent of every person in America (314 million) going out and spending $1,044 last Thursday. The previous single day record government spending happened in 2011 when the Obama administration and Congress spent $238 billion. The new record was an increase of $100 billion.

When Barack Obama ran for president in 2008, he promised to lower the nation’s debt, but like all of his other campaign promises; it was just another lie to help get him elected. When Obama took office in January 2009, the national debt was $10.6 trillion. At the time of this writing the national debt is $17.09 trillion, an increase of 62% in less than 5 years. Instead of lowering the national debt, Obama has increased it by a record $6.49 trillion. At the current rate of spending, Obama will have increased the national debt by $10.3 to $12 trillion dollars during his two terms, basically doubling the national debt of all other presidents combined.

The debt ceiling has been raised six times since Obama took office. Three of those increases occurred while the Democrats controlled both the Senate and the House and three have taken place since the Republicans gained control in the House.

It doesn’t take an economics genius to realize that no nation can continue to spend and borrow money at the rate the US has been, especially under the helm of Obama. It is a certainty that at some point in time, the debt will cause an economic collapse, throwing the nation into a depression far worse than the Great Depression of the 1930s. When America’s economy collapses, so will the economies of virtually every nation on earth. History books may deem it to be the Global Depression.

Millions of Americans will lose their jobs, their homes, their families and their lives. America and the world will be thrown into chaos. People will kill other people over a loaf of bread or can of beans. Society will be turned upside down, bringing out the worst in us.

The situation would then be perfect for the government to declare martial law. If it happens while Obama is still president, and it just may be that soon, he will enact on his many executive orders and assume dictatorial control of the nation. He will disband Congress and use the military to control the people, killing those who resist the new socialist order.

America may or may not rise from the ashes of ruin, but if it does, it won’t be like the beautiful mythical Phoenix bird. Instead it will look more like the ugly Roc, a mythical bird of prey that devoured anything including large elephants. The nation that rises from the ashes of economic ruin will be just as ugly and just as devouring as the Roc.

If you don’t believe me, look at what happened with the Great Depression. It gave rise to Nazi Germany and communism in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. Here in the US, the Great Depression supported the Democrats as they occupied the White House for next 28 of the next 36 years, with the only exception being the 8 years of Eisenhower. Franklin D. Roosevelt was a staunch progressive socialist and he used the Great Depression to institute many of his socialist agendas. They in turn laid the groundwork for many of the socialist programs in place today that Obama is building upon.

A Global Depression, brought on by the uncontrolled spending of Obama and Congress is not something I am looking forward to. Something drastic has to be done now to prevent a Global Depression from happening. Our federal government must be reduced in size and power. States need to be exercising their 10^th Amendment rights to defy the federal government and take the control that they are given.
If nothing is done, then all I can say is God help us because we will certainly need it.

PS I kind of lumped these posts together because I think it shows just what kind of politicians we have "working" for us. They spend our taxes like water and get more from the corporate dictates to fill their pockets and tell them how to do things they want and how far to jump to do it..To me this clearly show the idiocy of it all.
