At least three people have been killed and eight others injured in shooting across Chicago since Friday, police said.

The weekend's latest shooting took place around 1:20 a.m. Sunday when a 26-year-old man was shot inside a home in the 6100 block of South Bishop Street.

Police said a man fired shots at him striking him in the left leg.

The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. The man was not cooperating with police and officials had few details surrounding the shooting, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

On Saturday, a 27-year-old man was killed in the 3300 block of West Van Buren Street.
Police were called to a vacant lot around 10:50 p.m. where they discovered a man with gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 8:40 p.m., police responded to a call of a person shot and found an 18-year-old unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 6500 block of South Hermitage Avenue, Estrada said.

The man suffered wounds to the chest and buttocks and was transported Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was later pronounced.

Police believe the shooting may have been narcotics-related.

An hour earlier, a 24-year-old man was shot in the right leg and buttocks.

The man was walking in the 2600 block of West 61st Street when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Shortly after 5 p.m., near the intersection of 34th Street and Wentworth Avenue, police said a woman, under arrest in the back of a squad car, accidentally shot herself. Officers said the woman was being held while they waited for a female officer to conduct a protective search, according to news affairs.

Police had few details surrounding the shooting but said the woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Just after 6 a.m. Saturday when police said a 49-year-old man was shot in the back and arm in the 100 block of North Kostner Avenue.

The man was self-transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Around the same time, a 48-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery attempt, according to authorities.

The man was stopped at an intersection in the 4400 block of North Maypole when a man approached on foot and demanded money, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

When the driver told the man he had no money the offender shot him, striking him in the back and arm, Sullivan said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Thirty minutes earlier, police responded to a call of a person shot in the 4200 block of West West End Avenue. Responding officers discovered a male, believed to be in his 20s, lying in an alley with wounds to his chest and arm, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

Police said the man was unable to communicate with officers and Zala had few details surrounding the shooting.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and was alter pronounced dead, Zala said.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man walked into Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower left leg.

The man was shot in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Avenue but additional information on the shooting was not immediately available.

On Friday, two men were standing outside around 11 p.m. Friday in the 4700 block of North Sheridan Road when they were approached by an armed man, police said.

The man fired several shots at the victims and fled on foot, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the foot and was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital in stable condition. A 20-year-old man was also shot in the incident and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical condition with a gunshot wound to the left leg, police said. He was last listed in stable condition.

No one was in custody for the shooting Saturday morning, but the incident may have been gang-related, Estrada said.

Earlier Friday, a 32-year-old woman was shot in the leg in the 6300 block of South Vernon Avenue.

The woman said she was walking down the street when she heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
