ALERT! Federal legislation would limit funds to states that issue drivers' licenses to amnestied DREAMERS!

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-CA, has drafted legislation to restrict certain federal funding to states that issue drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens who receive Obama’s “deferred action” amnesty. The bill would bar Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) funds to states that issue licenses. California, for instance, received over $23 million from COPS in FY2012. While some states have said they will not issue licenses to the amnestied aliens, others have moved to do so. Under Obama’s administrative amnesty, nearly all illegal immigrants between the ages of 15 and 31 are eligible for deferred action, about 1.7 million nationwide. CA. DMV announced earlier this month it would issue driver's licenses to people who receive a work permit under the new program. In a statement to the North County Times Wednesday, the DMV backtracked, saying it was not clear what documents the federal government would give people and whether those documents met state regulations to issue the licenses.

Even in some states that have passed strong anti-illegal immigration laws, such as Georgia, driver's licenses may be available to undocumented immigrants who qualify under the new policy.

Under current Georgia law, people with deferred status can get a license, and that's what the state will do unless it gets different orders, said Susan Sports, spokeswoman for the state's Department of Driver Services.

I wish all the damned states would smarten up and not allow anything, including drivers licenses for illegals or their kids. They shouldn't be rewarded in any way. They do not belong here, came here knowing they were breaking our law, continue to pick and choose which lws they want to follow, take our jobs, and drain our system.
