ALERT!!! STAY AWAKE and CHARGE TO STOP NIGHTMARE AMNESTY

    Friends of ALIPAC,

The latest information we have indicates that the US Senate may be within one vote of passing cloture for Dream Amnesty!

Furthermore, we have told the media and lawmakers that the Dream Act is a much broader Amnesty than anyone expects, due to the fact that there is no verification of the age of the applicant, the age the applicant entered the US, or the time an illegal alien has been in the US.

The bill also contains the line allowing Janet Napolitano to arbitrarily waive any and all provisions and grant mass Amnesty to about every illegal alien in America if she or her successor wants to.

"(2) WAIVER- With respect to any benefit under this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security may waive the ground of inadmissibility under paragraph (1), (4), or (6) of section 212(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)) and the ground of deportability under paragraph (1) of section 237(a) of that Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)) for humanitarian purposes or family unity or when it is otherwise in the public interest."

YOU MUST ACT NOW AMERICA. YOU MUST AWAKEN AND START BOMBARDING THE SENATE WITH CALLS OPPOSING THE DREAM ACT. YOU MUST NOT STOP UNTIL THE SENATE EITHER DEFEATS DREAM OR LEAVES FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

    Take Action with these steps.

Step 1: Prepare yourself to fight right up until and through Christmas Eve if necessary. ALIPAC and our allies in DC are making these plans, as the Democratic leadership may decide to deliver Dream Amnesty on Christmas Eve in order to minimize public attention and backlash.

Step 2: Galvanize your resolve to do as much as possible to stop the Dream Amnesty and to rally others online and around you to help. You must all be Paul Reveres. You must be the media because the media is not responding to us right now.

Step 3: Help us challenge and bypass the media road blocks! Major news conduits we rely on are NOT reporting that he Dream Amnesty passage could be imminent or the negative consequences of the bill. Even worse, many sources (like Sean Hannity and several Fox News guests) are telling you not to worry about a thing and to just relax because Dream Amnesty won't pass.

We need you pounding these sources with calls and emails saying, "The US Senate is within 1 vote of passing mass Amnesty for illegal aliens any day now and I can't believe you are barely covering this story! Please warn Americans that millions of illegal aliens could receive amnesty before Christmas if passed in the Senate!"

You can access a full list of media targets that need your attention and you can work on your own local media, favorite blogs, and favorite talk radio shows. Right now Fox News and Drudge Report are taking a dive on this and even sites like World Net Daily need to respond more than what we are seeing.

Yes, I'm ready to help ALIPAC challenge and bypass media roadblocks at this link....
    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-219815.html

Step 4: Wave after wave of calls, emails, and faxes must flood the targeted senators that we have provided you. Better yet, Americans should be walking through their doors in DC and their District offices all day long to say "Vote NO on CLOTURE for the Dream Amnesty (add details here)"!

In our opinion, the only thing that can stop Dream Amnesty from passing is a massive public political outcry against the bill and right now THAT IS NOT HAPPENING.

Please visit this link to use our latest messages and targeting info. Call all targets and then call again! Check this page often as the targets and messages will change as things develop.

YES, I AM READY TO HELP ALIPAC FLOOD SENATE OFFICES WITH CALLS, EMAILS, and PEOPLE AT THIS LINK....
    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-219596.html

Prepare for a long battle, rally your friends and neighbors, contact talk radio, Fox, Drudge, and World Net Daily to get them moving against Dream Amnesty, and call the Senate like there is no tomorrow.

    House-Passed Amnesty Could Hit
Senate For Vote As Early As Wednesday

IF WE LOSE THIS ONE, 10 YEARS OF BEATING
    EVERY AMNESTY WILL BE NULLIFIED

My gut feeling is still that we ought to be able to defeat the House-passed Dream Act amnesty when it comes up for a vote in the Senate later this week.

    But . . .

Do you really want to rely on my gut?

    PHONE THESE UNDECLARED SENATORS

    https://www.numbersusa.com/content/action.html
WHO COULD KILL AMNESTY ONCE AND FOR ALL

If you can move at least two of these Senators into NO votes, I don't think there would be any chance of the amnesty passing.

The staffers of a couple of these have been telling our members that their Senator plans to vote NO. But the fact that those Senators have not publicly stated their opposition or shared that in any way with reporters is not a cause for great confidence. So, all of these need all the phone calls they can get. (See "Talking Points" below.)

    Use the Capitol Switchboard:

    202-224-3121

    ALASKA
    Sen. Murkowski (R)

    LOUISIANA
    Sen. Landrieu (D)

    MISSOURI
    Sen. McCaskill (D)

    MONTANA
    Sen. Baucus (D)

    NORTH DAKOTA
    Sen. Conrad (D)

    WEST VIRGINIA
    Sen. Manchin (D)

Note that most of these states are small-population states. We need a lot more phone calls going to those offices. If you live in those states, or in the same region, or have any other connection to those states, please make the calls. The other side is absolutely flooding their offices with phone calls making the most emotional appeals possible.

    PHONE THESE SENATORS WHO NEED
    ENCOURAGEMENT TO STICK WITH 'NO'

These Senators would have voted NO last Thursday if Senate Majority Leader Reid had not successfully moved to table the amnesty until he could find some more YES votes.

But there is so much horse trading going on right now with the tax deal, with the funding for the entire federal government still up in the air, with the START Treaty and any number of other issues that have to be resolved before Senators head home.

THESE SENATORS NEED TO HEAR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.

Thank them for their publicized promise to vote NO on the amnesty and then remind the staffers why NO is the right vote.

Our Hill Team asks that, if you have a Republican Senator (other than Lugar of Indiana or Bennett of Utah), phone him/her and encourage them to stick with their promise of NO.

But these Senators need the most encouragement because of the special politics of their own states and other vulnerabilities they may have to pressure from the open-borders folks.

    ARKANSAS
    Sen. Pryor (D)

    FLORIDA
    Sen. LeMieux (R)

    MAINE
    Sen. Collins (R)
    Sen. Snowe (R)

    MASSACHUSETTS
    Sen. Brown (R)

    NEBRASKA
    Sen. Nelson (D)

    NORTH CAROLINA
    Sen. Hagan (D)

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT YOU ARE THANKING THESE SENATORS. They have announced they will vote NO. You are just calling them to let them know that their NO vote will be a popular one.

    TURN THESE TWO SENATORS

For some reason, these two Senators who should be NO votes or, at the least, Undeclared were among the few who signed the cloture motion to start debate on the DREAM amnesty.

I feel that both could eventually vote NO on a final cloture vote that would END debate. But for some reason they seem to support STARTING the debate. Let's keep the pressure on them to kill this amnesty with the first cloture vote and not let the debate start in the first place.

    MICHIGAN
    Sen. Stabenow (D)

    NORTH DAKOTA
    Sen. Dorgan (D)

    TALKING POINTS

I feel like most of the Senators are ignoring the main reasons the DREAM amnesty should not go any farther in this Lame Duck session:
It is a massive amnesty to deal with the symptoms of past out-of-control illegal immigration without a single provision to reduce future illegal immigration.

It creates millions more legal workers to compete with the 22 million Americans who want a full-time job but can't find one. And it does nothing to turn off the jobs magnet for future illegal workers.
Don't forget that the Senators you are calling are basically sympathetic to the young illegal-alien adults who were brought here by their parents.

I don't think speaking against the potential amnesty recipients will be helpful in those offices.

Instead, emphasize the points above and how continued illegal immigration harms American victims.

    The DREAM Act amnesty is
    (a) full of loopholes
    (b) wildly susceptible to fraud
    (c) does nothing to end the job magnet that allowed the parents to put these "kids" into their position in the first place.

    WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN THIS WEEK

Let me first state what is at stake if we let up and the other side peels off just enough Senators to pass the House-passed amnesty.

How will we feel if we don't put our full effort into lobbying Senators this week and then the amnesty narrowly passes just before everybody goes home for the year? Any amnesty that passes the Senate this week will be signed into law. And even though there is no chance an amnesty could pass next year, there also is no chance that an amnesty passed this week could be overturned by next year's Congress (because of the President's certain veto of an overturning).

The mainstream media for the most part are treating the amnesty as something unlikely to be brought back up for a vote in the Senate, primarily because the legislative calendar is so crowded.

But nearly every group on the pro-amnesty side and on the anti-amnesty side believes that Sen. Reid will live up to his promise to hold the vote.

We don't see Reid bringing up DREAM before the tax deal is settled because the only way to add Republicans as YES votes is to get tax deal done first.

The Senate cloture vote to start debate on the tax deal is scheduled for 3 p.m. today (Monday). Perhaps the tax deal could be settled by Wednesday.

Reid has not yet filed cloture on DREAM. There can be no vote on DREAM until two calendar days after cloture has been filed. If he filed today, the vote could be as early as Wednesday.

I KNOW YOU ARE TIRED OF PHONING, PHONING, PHONING.

SO, THANKS SO MUCH FOR PICKING UP THAT PHONE ONCE AGAIN,

Door open for Reid to bring up 'Dream Act' proposal

Supporters of the DREAM Act continue to believe the House's approval of the bill by a 216-198 vote sets the stage for its passage by the Senate before the lame duck Congress adjourns at the end of the month.

After considerable maneuvering in the Senate last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is now free to bring up in the Senate the version of the DREAM Act passed last Wednesday in the House.

Reid and Sen. Dick Durbin, R- Ill., the Senate Democratic Party whip, said in a joint statement Thursday that they will work with House leaders to assure passage of the DREAM Act before the end of the current lame duck session of Congress.

"Only a massive reaction from the American people can stop the DREAM Act from passing the Senate before Christmas," William Gheen, head of Americans for Legal Immigration, told WND.

"Most Americans are not aware that the DREAM Act is close to passing at any moment," he said. "We are asking our activists to start climbing over the walls to rally talk radio and warn hosts that the hour is late, the situation is dire and only a massive reaction from the American public can stop Dream Amnesty from passing before Christmas."

Activists supporting the DREAM Act are also making calls for a public outcry to influence Congress before the end of December.

A torch rally pilgrimage that began 72 days ago in Mexico City at Mexico City's Basilica Guadalupe culminated Sunday at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, with a group estimated at 5,000 greeting runners that had crossed 3,000 miles through nine Mexican states and 12 U.S. states to express their support for the DREAM Act.

The bill offers permanent legal status to illegal immigrants up to age 35 who arrived in the United States before age 16, provided they complete two years of college or two years of U.S. military service.

Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies, estimates more than 1 million illegal immigrants will eventually enroll in community colleges or state universities as a result of the DREAM Act.

Camarota anticipates that with the low income of most illegal immigrants, about 80 percent of the illegal immigrants attending institutions of higher learning under the DREAM Act would gravitate to community colleges and state universities.

"Given limited space and limited funding at community colleges and state universities, illegal immigrants will crowd out U.S. citizens and legal immigrants in the United States," Camarota told WND.

Under the DREAM Act, illegal immigrants attending community colleges or public universities would receive in-state tuition.

Camarota estimates that on average, each illegal immigrant who attends a public institution will receive a tuition subsidy from taxpayers of nearly $6,000 for each year he or she attends, for a total cost of $6.2 billion a year, not including other forms of financial assistance they may also receive.

The DREAM Act does not provide funding to states or counties to cover the in-state tuition subsidies the bill mandates.

The bill also does not provide any enforcement mechanism to screen out fraud committed by applicants who may not meet its requirements, including the requirement that the applicant first came to the U.S. illegally before age 16.

Without an enforcement mechanism, Gheen estimates that the number of illegal immigrants applying for citizenship under the DREAM Act could turn out to total 2 to 3 million, not just the 1 million illegal immigrants truly in the U.S. before age 16.

"Whether the DREAM Act passes the Senate is entirely dependent upon whether or not the bill's supporters can find the 60 votes needed to break a filibuster," Camarota said, noting that Reid could not rely on all Senate Democrats to hold party line and vote for the legislation.

Numbers USA agrees, noting that Congress was flooded last week with phone calls opposing passage of the DREAM Act.

Numbers USA has targeted the following 10 senators as undecided votes on the DREAM Act:

    * Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska
    DC: (202) 224-6665 Local: (907) 271-3735

Keep fighting, everybody! One more big push until Wednesday (tomorrow). Our enemies know that this is their last, best chance to slip their amnesty bill past the American people, what with the lame-duck sessions. Though I can't believe the gall of these people. Obama's agenda was completely repudiated by the American people in the last election, and yet here they still are, pushing their unpopular and unwanted agenda on the American people one more time. But ha ha for them, in a couple weeks it'll be house-cleaning in DC. And we're just getting started. With Obama being run out of town in two years. And good riddance.
