    To ALIPAC and concerned citizens

Support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform was not proven? When McCain first started making his MYSTERIOUS comeback I said, "what?" When Romney dropped out I said, "oh my God!" I'm another who got physically sick. I've cried and lost sleep over it all. I can't believe that the 87% of Americans who opposed the McCain/Kennedy Reform Bill and crashed the Washington switchboard on the day of the Senate vote had such short memories. I also can't help but believe that the fix was in. I don't know how they did it, but I put nothing past them. You think they aren't gloating? I think they're laughing their asses off right now. The aristocracy can pay to stay a step ahead of us.

I know I sound very negative right now and here's why: we wrote. We called. We e-mailed and faxed. I sent money to Tom Tancredo that I could ill afford so he could at least help get the word out. I talked to people everywhere and most didn't even know whom Tancredo is. I do know that the elites got the message. They heard us loud and clear. But they don't care. They have a different agenda and we only delayed their plans temporarily. It made them very angry. John McCain was their reply.

As you said, we need to come together and we need to be organized. It's VITAL that we do so, but we haven't yet. There are a lot of us, but right now we're a fragmented group of emailers and letter writers. ALIPAC and Numbers USA are wonderful organizations - and God bless you for trying. Getting the truth out to more Americans is very important. Unfortunately, it's difficult. Half our citizens are already on the left and a frightening number of others don't care enough to get informed.

My advice is this: I think we need to change our tactics. For starters, we should use the left wing trick of changing terms to fit their agenda. Example: "liberals" are now "progressives." It implies that anyone who opposes them opposes progress, and who wants that? Another example: "illegal aliens " became "undocumented workers." They aren't people who entered our borders with a sense of self-entitlement and a complete disregard for our laws while threatening to completely sap our country's dwindling financial resources, they're just hard working, law-abiding citizens-to-be that are missing a few pieces of paper. See how that works? In return, we should stop using the term "Main Stream Media." They're anything but. How about "Pro Socialist News Media?' Or Corporate/Special Interest Propagandists?" Obviously I exaggerate. The terms can't be too biased or it makes us look like the fanatics. But perhaps a subtle redirect in terminology is in order. Maybe someone else can come up with something that works.

Also, we must become VISABLE. I realize we're trying to accomplish our goals compassionately and lawfully. And we must continue to do so. It's funny though: we're the only ones who concern ourselves with that. The criminal un-Americans don't and our inept overseers don't enforce the laws they legislated. Selective enforcement is a wonderful thing isn't it. (For them.) Everyone marches and protests. Except us. Interesting that poor illegals who can't speak English and have no voice can organize, but we can't. How about we urge people to form a march on Washington, we choose a good name for it, and we do it? We do still have that right, don't we? Set the goal high. Tell people we need millions. If illegals can organize, why can't we?

I agree this is a conflict between good and evil. I have no doubt about that. The actions we take (or don't take) will determine in which direction our country will go. Yes, I'm angry. Yes, I'm scared. But I'm not the kind of scared that backs me into a corner with my arms in a defensive position, waiting for the final blow. I once heard a preacher say, "Satans' goal is not to make us sin. He knows we'll do that on our own. What he does is try to discourage us. Because he knows if we're discouraged, we won't do anything." The elites are doing this to the American people. They want us to give up. As I said, I know my letter sounds negative, but I'm trying to make the point that we need to do more than just email and fax. MUCH MORE. I myself, will never go quietly into that good night.

    Sincerely,
    Linda S

    Agree

Totally, with what you have said. I attend town hall meetings and go to the offices of my elected officials. Huge crowds doing this would be helpful.

    Hi 256steves, welcome aboard.

A couple points I offer in response (roughly in reverse order):

    1. Re: lawfulness of pro and anti sides... It is so very important that no matter what, we always retain the high ground and never transgress the law in lobbying our side. To date, I can not think of one significant unlawful act by any anti-illegal immigration group. We can only lobby for law enforcement when we ourselves are law-respecting citizens. To do otherwise, would make no sense whatsoever. In contrast, there have been numerous DOCUMENTED acts by pro-illegal persons (YouTube contains so very many....)

    2. Optimism vs. Pessimism... I don't think the negativity is justified. Despite NUMEROUS attempts at amnesties (some of which were very sneaky, some openly lobbied, etc) NONE has passed Congress in the last few years. Further, there is a lot of attention now focused on the subject and more Americans are beginning to understand the failings of the previous (1986) amnesties. Most people realize the policy was a failure - plain and simple. Also, the strength and capabilities of the opposed forces continues to grow. UPDATE/ADD: And, the efforts of state and local govts. is beginning to take a serious hold and you are witnessing the effect of real enforcement done at the local level. So, there's a lot to be encouraged by as well.

    3. Re: Presidential candidates/elections... well, this has been a been topic around here for a number of reasons. I generally tend to sidestep any focus on this. Here's a couple things to keep in mind: Much state/local effort has succeeded in the last year in particular to address the Illegal Immigration problem. It is being done bottom-up; the President is darn near irrelevant in this process so far. While it would be 'nice' to have a Prez favorable to our side, it is by no means a 'brick wall' in terms of continued progress. Also, being focused on one candidate vs. another detracts from the more immediate areas where we have demonstrated an ability to make good and rapid progress.

Now, having said all the above, I too, would like to see a supra-level coordination between allied anti-illegal immigration groups. This is a fairly sensitive topic to which only W can speak of as he is the one with all the experience and connections at such a level. Overall, I think that would help a lot as well.

    VERY good point!!

The fix is in. I don't think they really care which of the 3 it is. They will accomplish open borders and amnesty whatever way it goes.

256steves- It makes me sick. I believe this entire election was planned and rigged so that McCain on the republican side, or the 2 idiots on the democrat side - (there is no difference between the 2)- would win and make our country OPEN UP WIDE to every existing spoiler of sovereighty.

When I saw Kennedy SINGING in front of a large hispanic crowd, as if CELEBRATING, it made me even more suspicious. I believe Kennedy was celebrating the fact that his moronic Kennedy-McCain bill will go through, regardless of who is elected. What a drunk.

I agree that we need to get more exposure. I am willing to do almost anything to save our country.

Interesting point. Rush uses the more accurate description of "drive by media" although I prefer "liberal media."

I agree with marches. I'm moderate/conservative. I have neighbors who are liberal. BUT this issue is the one we come together on. I ask one of my liberal neighbors "I think we need to march in DC. She said, just let me know and I'll be there."

So there are people who are willing to put their feet to the ground in DC on this matter. People who are normally at odds on issues are coming together on this one.

    Welcome 256steves!

I believe Americans are standing up and more are awake and roaring than we know. I believe everything is rigged from voting machines to MSM and yes they are hoping we will just give up. We cannot do that!! Failure is not an option and we can make a big difference, we already have against odds that noone thought we could prevail against! The corruption has become entrenched and strong over time and cannot be overcome in a small amount of time. WE must CONTINUE ON!!! NEVER GIVING UP AND NEVER GIVING IN, standing up and speaking out in any way that is available! WE can prevail but it will be through dogged determination and dedication to the cause of saving our country. Nothing good ever comes easy!
