A PRAYER FOR AMERICA ON ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 6th, 2012

"Our Father in Heaven, we come before Thee this day in supplication, prayer, and fasting for our nation. Dear Father, forgive us of our shortcomings, both as individuals and as a nation. We pray on behalf of the tens of millions in this land whose still revere thy Name and thy Word, and who seek Thee and Thy Son.

"We pray for a healing of our land, Father. This day, we in this nation, due to thy grace, kindness and love, will be able to exercise our right and duty \to vote for our own leaders and exercise our own free agency as a people in that choice. We pray that thy Spirit will be upon our nation and the people of this nation, that they will choose candidates and policies that follw thy commandments and decrees as given us in the Holy Scriptues, the Holy Bible.

"May we vote for life, Father, the life of thy dear children and the spirits thou hast prepared to send to this earth, and move away from the horrid practise of in any way legalizing their murder in the womb.

"May we vote for thy Holy insititution of marriage, the most basic building block of our society, and that union condoned by Thee and defined by Thee as between a man and a woman.

"May we vote to condemn sodemy, and any base immorality in all its forms for the sins they are, and seek to love and help the sinner to abandon these practices Thou hast warned us of.

"May we vote for the principles of liberty, of moral conscience and the recognition of exercising that moral conscience without governmental compulsion.

"May we vote to end the horrid cancer of deficit spending and debt that hangs over our nation as a sword.

"May we vote to keep this, our nation and its constitution, both of which have been inspired, and aided, and upheld by Thee, strong and capable of defending itself, its interests and its allies throughout the world.

"May we vote to re-enthrone individual responsibility and accountability in our daily life, seeking to work for what we get, and to generously and privatly provide means through charitable actions and giving to help those who truly cannot do so for themselves.

"Father, may we follow the motto of our nation, wherein we say, "In God we Trust", and prove it by how we live our lives and in the representatives we elect and laws we pass...and not make a mockery of it be either electing reprentatives or passing laws that condone the very opposite of Thy counsel to us and incur Thy righout indignation and wrath. "Dear Father, we seek thy blessings on us this day, as we repent, as we fast and humble ourselves, as we spend the day in reflective thinking and prayers drawn out to Thee for the preservation of our Republic and then as we vote according to this prayer for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and generations unborn, and may we do so with an eye single to thy glory, that thy word and gospel may continue to go forth to the world from this place, we pray, in the name of our beloved Savior, thy Son, Jesus Christ, Amen"

May each of, throughout the day on election day here in 2012, and on every single election day in the future, work our hearts out for our nation and its constitution, in the weeks and months leading up to the election to choose wise, virtuous, moral and God-fearing candidates who are dedicated to our Constitution and its underlying foundational moral values and principles. And may we do so in the spirit of II Chronicles 7:14, where God declares to us, that if we will repent and pray to Him, that He will heal our land. And may we do so in the spirit of the many statements and inspiration afforded our founders, who declared that,
"We hold these truths to be self evident. That all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. That among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

And the wise words of Patrick Henry who delcared, when facing times of severe trouble of their own, that,
"There is a just God in Heaven who presides over the destinies of nations. He will raise up friends to fight our battles for us..."
God grant that we will remember our roots and foundational principles and that we will, with respect to our inspired constitution and bill of rights, hold fast to them, defend them, and bear true faith and allegiance to them, and to God in Heaven who gave them to us.
