America is Laughing at Obama Supporters: Will GOP Capitalize?

America is Laughing at Obama Supporters: Will GOP Capitalize?

George Rasley, CHQ Editor | 10/22/2014

New Hampshire’s incumbent Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen was laughed at by the audience at the New Hampshire Senate Debate on Tuesday when she would not give a clear answer on whether she approved of the job President Obama is doing.
You can watch Shaheen’s incredible performance on Breitbart TV (link at the end of this article) but here’s the short version from Breitbart:
“When asked to give a simple, yes or no response to a hypothetical pollster asking, ‘do you approve of the job President Obama is doing?’ Shaheen responded, ‘in some ways I approve, and some things I don't approve,’ a line that caused the audience to start laughing. She continued ‘like most questions that we deal with as policymakers there aren’t simple answers, yes or no.’”
That is completely false – think the federal budget. Liberals are always calling on conservatives to “compromise” on budget matters, but the budget is a simple yes or no question: do you increase spending or do you not increase spending? A little increase is not a compromise – it means more spending.
This tone of arrogant intellectual superiority is so typical of liberals like Shaheen – who would like voters to think that everything can be compromised and there are no “right answers” to any questions.
But here’s the real key point in the debate.
As Breitbart reported, "Shaheen was then asked how she could reconcile voting with the president 99% of the time and President Obama’s low approval rating in New Hampshire. She stated 'I work for New Hampshire. And Scott Brown talks a lot about one survey and 99% of the time that I voted with the president,' before talking about her record getting a prison in New Hampshire opened, her work with residents who were facing foreclosure, and language she added to a veterans’ reform bill with Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)."
She then concluded, “what we need is a senator who’s going to work for New Hampshire, who’s going to make sure we address the concerns we hear from our constituents, who’s going to be willing to work with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, anybody in Washington who can help us get the job done for this state.”
Notice that Shaheen’s answer was intended to make the campaign all about local issues – getting “free stuff” from the federal government to bribe the voters of New Hampshire into keeping her, and Democrats like her, in office.
Scott Brown then proceeded to nail Shaheen by bringing the debate back to national issues: amnesty and immigration, national security and Obama’s abuse of power.
Brown’s underdog campaign has surged because Brown has nationalized the election by campaigning on immigration and other national issues. Other Republican candidates who were underperforming and have now gotten back in the game, notably North Carolina GOP Senate candidate Thom Tillis, have done the same thing and found the voters responded.
We all know there are different kinds of laughter – the “belly laugh” you get from a comedy like Talladega Nights; the laugh that comes from the recognition of a clever play on words; and the laugh of derision that comes when you catch someone in a lie.
Right now America is laughing at Obama supporters like New Hampshire’s Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen – and it’s the kind of laugh that comes when you finally get fed-up and call B.S. on someone trying to worm out of taking responsibility for their own failure.
To keep the laughter going all the way to Election Day the GOP leadership must nationalize the election on the issues of amnesty, national security and Obama’s abuse of power and then keep asking the same question that brought down the house in New Hampshire: Do you approve of the job President Obama is doing?
FedUp PAC has launched an effort to nationalize the election. To learn how to help go to "Nine simple things you can do TODAY to influence the 2014 election and save America."

The Silly Season of Democrats Pretending to be Conservative

Have you noticed that right before Election Day Democrats seem to try and pretend that they are really conservative?

I’ve seen them claim they are for less taxes. Amazing that when you look at their voting record it shows directly the opposite. We are taxed enough already and need to drastically cut down the size of government. Electing tax and spend liberals is never the answer.

When Democrats say they want more jobs they tend to mean more government jobs, not private sector jobs. The problem here is that government jobs cost us money, whereas the private sector jobs make everyone money. We have all seen what an out of control EPA can do to our jobs. It’s beyond time to rein them in.

Suddenly this election season Democrats are pretending to love guns. The truth is they just love your vote. I often wonder how many guns were borrowed to make these fake ads. Gun rights are not only part of protecting your family and yourself, but one of the biggest reasons our nation will never successfully be invaded. Look for candidates who truly want to protect your right to carry, not someone who wants to create supposed “safe gun free zones” where the only thing that is accomplished is that easy targets are made for those who would do us harm.

One of the best is when Democrats claim they are pro-life. This has bitten West Virginians for Life so many times that you have to wonder when they will learn their lesson about the pretenders. We currently have three elected Democrats who have lost favor with West Virginians for Life because of pro-abortion votes. What is so wrong with saying you are pro-choice if you believe that a woman should have that say? It does make it easier for the voters to know if you want to protect the innocent unborn baby or not. A lot of voters take this issue as a measuring block for the character of a candidate. Though the character really shows when you pretend to be something you are not.

Both the state and national Democrat party platform support higher taxes, more regulations, decreased gun rights, and less freedom through a big government socialist agenda. It is hard to be associated with this platform and claim to be a conservative. Though I have heard a current Democrat candidate say he supports the entire Republican platform. How you can say you support a conservative platform yet associate with a liberal one doesn’t make much sense. I doubt being elected to such a liberal platform would allow much room for acting in a conservative way. We have certainly seen this over and over again with the pretenders.

There is no doubt that Obama is not on the ballot this time, but his policies certainly are. This is something that President Obama has said himself and for once something we can agree on. This election season don’t be fooled by the Democrats pretending to be conservative. Liberals put politics before people and it is time for the people’s voice to be heard.

Don’t forget that you can still update your party affiliation. We have change of registration forms available at our headquarters on West Main Street and invite you down. We’re looking forward to going 5 for 5 this Election Day and get West Virginia and Taylor County on the road to a prosperous future.
